Agreed. The Destiny approach to DLC is bad. I only have the DLC now because I was able to get it for about $17. If you do not have the DLC it makes the game pretty unplayable. I may not have even spent $17 if they had not added some achievements. I will say that I do love the Sunbreaker class for the Titan though.

I read that Activision didn't send out any review copies until today, so I wouldn't expect any reviews to go up for a day or so. Though I'm sure a few sites started marathon-ing it at midnight and will shit out a quick review so they could be first.

^this is exactly why I don't buy games at full price or at lunch anymore. I have such a backlogg that by the time I get to stuff its cheaper anyways. I can wait a month or two

+1 I would love to play Batman, MGSV and Mad Max right now but I have too much to play to justify spending more than $30 on any of those even if they are worth it.

Yeah, I'm gold. But just about every game on sale this week has been $5 in the past, with the exception of Mordor (which is a good deal but I have it on One) and some of the Lego stuff. I think the amount of content on sale is great, just would have liked to see some more stuff hit $5, which doesn't seem too unreasonable considering most have in the past.

 
Anyone try streaming your xbox one outside of your house? I've been messing around with it. I can get it to stream but lose connection fairly often. I think it might work decently if I can configure correctly.

Performance has been improved in the last few months. No mention of how much credit has been made. It appears that whatever you have spent between July 28, 2015 and October 5th is what you get back. I redeemed my code for the starter pack disc last night. I had been waiting because I had an issue with stacking premium in the past. I paid $8 for the disc at BB when it hit $10 for a clearance price. Wonder if I get the full $40 MSRP. The refund process is supposed to be automatic. We'll see.

They signed the contract so they have to know. PR or marketing or whatever probably just forgot about it until the time had already passed.

BTW, I see no chance of this DLC returning unless Mechberg is wrong, but he wasn't when he made a similar announcement when this happened with FM3 DLC. I'm sure they pulled the content on the last contractual day and they couldn't just get an extension because they messed up. On the other hand, it is weird that the contract ended just shy of four years of release of the base game and not the date of release or something. I'm sure someone in the industry would have insight on that. The only other potential for renegotiation would be that this is the final FM on 360 and it still has decent numbers of people who still love Forza, but have not gotten XBones or if FM4 becomes backward compatable. There are many cars in FM4 that have not made the next gen leap.

FYI, I tweeted @XboxSupport about users who bought the Season Pass, but were unable to download the car packs and they said those users should contact them via call/chat. So maybe refunds can be made at least.

Shadow of Mordor is a shell of the PS4/XB1/PC version. Unless you plan on never moving on from the Xbox 360, it's best to wait and get it on the newer consoles.

Actually, I think having Gears and Rare Replay physically is a much better deal. I assume Ori is digital because they never did a retail release for it (which is fine).

It's one of those games that is boring as hell solo, but pretty damn fun co-op. My wife and I played through it together and had a good time with it. We played it on Normal and never touched Legendary or Heroic. Landed at 40/46 and 795/1000 on achievements.

I actually bought it for $32 at Best Buy, because the physical release included a bunch of the content packs, and have been playing it quite a bit lately. Not doing anything really significant, just bonking out some achievements and messing around with my own level while poking at brains. I thought there was a free base game and all the extra content was for purchase? Are they giving away all the content for free or something?

I absolutely loved it, but that was back when it came out. I picked it up launch day and beat it pretty quick so I played three playthroughs in about a week. At the time it came out, I thought it was awesome. I think it was underrated because it came out either right before or after Skyrim so of course it would get overlooked. It's a fun hack-and-slash with some RPG elements. When you beat it the first time, you get to keep leveling up gear and what not so it makes the two harder playthroughs feel exactly the same. I was captivated by the fact that I was playing out a story that was taking place at the same time as my favorite movie trilogy. It's not a very deep story but it does well to tie into the movies. It makes sense and gives you the feeling that you're in Middle Earth with movie locations and character cameos. Even considering how much I enjoyed it, I wouldn't consider it worth a full retail price but at its current sale price, you could do so much worse.

If you like the movies and hack-and-slash games (with a sprinkle of RPG elements), you're gonna enjoy War in the North (especially in coop) assuming it holds up after 4 years of course. I haven't played it since back when it came out, but I repurchased it from Amazon not too long ago because I intend to run through it again at some point. There were bugs at release, but I think they were patched pretty quick. Though there are definitely some minor flaws post patch.

TL; DR:

If you enjoy the LOTR franchise, go for it. It's cheap. If you enjoy hack and slash games, why not? It's cheap. If you enjoy both, it's a no brainer. It's cheap.

I reboxed thps5 and it is a broken mess. I still might buy it anyways. It's broken but still fun. Maybe it'll get patched. I should probably just wait til the price plummets though.
 
So I guess for those in The New Xbox One experience you are getting 12 person Party chat and a new combination of the Game DVR and Upload apps into one new app.

Edit: New Update. EVERYONE is getting 12 person party chat (X1 and PC).  Great now I can not talk to 11 people when I play.

I actually bought it for $32 at Best Buy, because the physical release included a bunch of the content packs, and have been playing it quite a bit lately. Yeah all the content will be free. All content was free to play, but not completely free to create. Now everything will be free to create.

Speaking of Project Spark, starting next week and all throughout October I'll be featuring horror games made in Project Spark on YouTube (link in sig) every Monday and Wednesday with a live stream of my favorites closer to Halloween. There are some really scary games and I hope Halloween inspires creators to make more. I'm thinking about making one myself.
 
A game called Toto Temple Deluxe (another local multiplayer arena brawler) will launch tonite alongside The Escapists: The Walking Dead, Standpoint, and Orbit.

Most indies don't release now until closer to midnite. Phil put a stop to the evening hour release schedule.

 
I recently bought Fallout New Vegas to try out to see if I would be interested in getting Fallout 4. After playing for a couple of hours and Im trying to find a sheriff at a prison that got taken over, my screen goes black, turn off the 360 and back on to find out the autosave is corrupt. The only other save in my "load" section is #0001 Prospector Saloon...back at the beginning.

I thought new Vegas was great but imo 3 was better.

I had a great time soloing war in the north. It's one of those game I would turn on to play for an hour and end up playing all night. And not that I'm condoning this, but there's a really simple glitch you can do at any vendor to get unlimited money. Just google it. I don't remember exactly what it is but all you have to do is hold a certain button down when you sell something.
