Thanks for the invites earlier, guys. Been playing with old college friends all day, so I couldn't join, but I appreciated that you guys sent invites. I've been awful about checking the game night thread and never play with you guys!

Also, to appease the anti-Halo crowd, I am finally going to buy Dead Space! I watched other people play it years ago, and it scared the piss out of me. I really want to play it, but I'm going to buy some new undies first.
 
You can buy the third one since it has co-op and it's still a pretty good game. Gamestop has a 4 for $10 promo going on right now, and DS3 is one of the included games. You'll need to get three more games, but there's a good selection overall.

I noticed a "bonus" of 25k rewards... maybe because I already own them all? Tomb Raider was the only one left, and had it pre-ordered already.

3 is the most fun and best overall. One has horrible pacing issues and two is more of the same. 3 is like RE4 of the series.

What? No,no,no...NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Dead Space 3 is easily the worst of the series except it has co-op online which was a nice distraction.

Dead Space 2 is more action then horror, kinda like the RE4 of the series and the action is top notch. It was fun as hell though.

Dead Space 1 is one of the greatest survival horror games of last gen.

 
Having just beat the game, it's Meh.

I like where the story is headed but the gameplay of Halo 5 feels more like a CoD/Battlefield with a Halo skin and termology.

I just dislike that they killed the Halo 4 villian off offscreen in one of the books, and now Halo 5 has it's own unique step in the story with some things established in 4.

 
Note on Halo unlockable, you get free armor/helmet skins for watching Nightfall on Halo channel. Trick is you can load the episode, skip to the end of each episode and it still counts.
 
So Halo 5.

After playing for a couple hours last night (purely MP), I must say I either am halo'd out, something is "off", or I just havent played enough.

The maps feel too lackluster and thrown together.  They seem too small for the faster movement in this generation as well as the horrible spawns.  343i also didnt include enough game modes to keep people around for more than a week or two...literally they have nothing great, no team slayer BR or anything interesting.  The only difference in the game types are the fact that some are objectives, but you still start with the same weapons (assault rifle and pistol which is boring; I just want to start with a BR!)

Edit: The weapon variety is a different story, so many weapons on the map now compared to other halo games which is great.

I also think the deadzones (on the controller) specifically for h5 are too different compared to all other Halo games including the compilation (MCC) which is just downright stupid and lazy on 343's part.  Nothing like playing Halo MCC, getting used to the thumbstick controller sensitivities, and then playing Halo 5 and them being completely poop.

Honestly, with the little bit I played last night, I kept feeling like all I wanted to do was play Black Ops 3 Beta again...which is rare because I love Halo and have been "meh" toward COD since BLOPS1 (although I liked AW, but quit shortly after starting)

(I also kinda like Destiny pvp better; which is blasphemy)

I hate to agree with you but I do. It may suffer from lag at times but I feel like I am having more fun most of the time.

Edit: Also I have to say 3 warzone maps at launch is really really weak. I know more are coming but 5 should have been the minimum.

I would say purchase neither and buy the Resident Evil/RE0 disk compilation for X1 when you buy one(or PS4 if you have one). It's $40 now but it will be cheaper in he future and physical is almost always cheaper than digital on consoles.

 
I'm okay with the rumor actually panning out because I don't own any of those yet. My backlog is so big that I've stopped hoping for good gwg and just started hoping for stuff I don't already have.

Only one new game for me this month, so will have to look into Knight Squad. As for Pneuma, it's not a bad little puzzler. Dialogue was enjoyable, and it's a short / easy 1k (with a guide). $20 was a ripoff at launch, but it's a solid free title for those who haven't played it.

Well they did say 100+ at launch and we are at 30ish so you have to figure at least another 70+ titles by mid-November.

My guess is they do a small trickle each month, maybe 20-30+ titles each month to give developers a chance to sell their 360 titles on the X1. Then in a few years we see a big dump of almost all titles available that don't have licensing issues.

 
Almost got a physical copy of Dungeon Siege today for 5 bucks but decided against it since I wanted to see if the rumors come true..and well just saved 6 bucks today lol

 
I'm happy with those choices. Pneuma is a game I've had on my wish list. And don't have either 360 game.

Not so sure Knight Squad if it's yet another single screen competitive multi-player party game. Have had enough of those and no one to really play them with.

Man those X1 GWG look like crap. I guess it doesn't matter since I'm sure everyone is going to be busy in November with all the big releases.

I'mm glad that the 360 games are now going to be backwards compatible since I've been wanting to play Dirt 3.

Have they stated games with licensing issues will not be made BC? Since BC is free and no money is made off of it I was thinking license issues shouldn't matter. Then again they want to make games BC so more will buy them who didn't have a 360 before... Anyway, if licensing is an issue then DiRT 1 and DiRT 2 will not become BC, only DiRT 3 as licnesing has run out on the first two games. They have been pulled from Steam long ago and it was announced DiRT 2 wouldn't move from GFWL to Steamworks because of the expired licensing.

So, two new games on the One for me, I've already got DS3 and every time DiRT 3 goes on sale I'm tempted to pick it up so it's on the HD, but with so many other games in my backlog I don't play it every day anymore. That said I hope servers pick back up with this as I still have some grinding to get the level 35 achievement and I'd rather play and beat people than boost. 3 or 4 in a room doesn't build the xp nearly as much as 8. DiRT 3 is one of the best racers on 360 hands down. The DLC adds up though. The VIP pass which is required for online play is still $10. Wonder if it will be included.

Speaking of DLC, I wonder how that will be handled for BC. Will it be included like Borderlands? And what about Forza 2, 3 and 4 which have had DLC removed from the servers? According to this site, Forza 2-4 will be BC:

Great month. Glad to get those 2 :xb1: games are free because I wouldn't have bought those unless they were under $5. No need for Dirt 3 but I have DS3 in the backlog on disc so glad to move that over to digital and be able to play on :xb1:.

 
A little disappointed that I didn't complete it on the 27 but I was too tired to stay up and beat it. I'll be playing multiplayer now until I feel like getting the skulls.

Some friendly advice:
-The quickest way to defeat a warden is to stun him with an incineration cannon and shoot his back with a scattershot.
-The AI is only worth saving if they're in a reasonable spot to pick them up. Sounds like common sense but some how I found myself dying way too often by trying to pick them up. If they all die just hide for a minute and they'll respawn.
-Every time you encounter a hunter, there'll be fuel rod cannons around

Xbone selection's not bad, though I have Knight Squad on Steam so that one's not as great for me. I should have gotten Windward instead.

I have Dirt 3 on Steam, but it's a good game so at least I don't have to double-dip and it's BC-compatible.

I have Dungeon Siege 3 on disk so that's the biggest disappointment.

Still better than last month, I guess.

 
The 360 GwG offerings are crap, for me personally. Will download Dirt 3 to unlock a few cheesemints. Never really heard of the X1 games so I'll download those and try em out. Expectations are very low

Dirt 3 and Dungeon Siege III are good choices but kind of surprised they are BC selections.  Gives me hope for a large library of BC games.

Pneuma has easy achievements so I will at least play it for that.

Pneuma just seemed like it was always intended to be a Games with Gold title.  Back when it was on sale I just knew I'd be throwing money away on a game that was definitely going to be free with gold.
