I won't judge it by the third one because it's highly subjective, but I think BO3 is far from being either a balanced game or a rewarding game. There are too many variables that influence the game (crappy connection because of p2p, inconsistent number of hits to score a kill, thousands of weapon/perks/killstreaks combination that make it less about being strategic, map design that doesn't let you take control of the map).

People can (and will) complain as they want about COD4 having martyrdom and 3x frags, but that's much better than having an invisible helicopter that kills you instantly, a specialist perk that makes you place almost-invisible traps and microtransations-locked weapons.

I bet most of the people that's disliking COD IW on Youtube and insulting Activision for not making COD4R standalone didn't even play the original mp for more than 10 hours. They're going to be in for a big surprise once they see how that game is different from the Black Ops games they all love.

There is a whole new meta with this game. Competitive is where it really shows how good the multiplayer is because once you understand how all the in game mechanics work it's a very fun and addicting multiplayer game. Yes there are many variables like p2w but in competitive none of those matter because they only allow base game maps and weapons in the pro circuit. And even in pubs the game is just as fun if you're good. You just have to get good! This is the only game I've gotten 10th prestige in since MW2, which is by far my favorite COD, so I guess that kinda shows how fun I think the game is?

But really though this is one of the most unique cods because of its jet pack and movement system. If you just watch a couple competitive vids you can see how the game was really meant to be played in terms of in game mechanics and such

surprisingly I've held out from buying the ultimate alliance games so far

for the first time I might actually go the distance

I think I've learned I have a tad bit of restraint for the 10 dollar unnecessary games

it seems the 7.99 and under are the ones I stand no chance against

I had the first one on disc years ago and gave it away to my nephew

I don't remember enjoying it that much and the gameplay I watched looks alright but 20 bucks?

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I'd snatch up both Ultimate Alliance games if they were BC. My chances of playing them after buying would go from like 2% on 360 to 25% on Xbone.

343 isn't good at maps, and all the mobility is counter intuitive to almost everything that made classic Halo maps good. They did release Forge and actually dramatically improved it this time. That's where all the good stuff is. Even insane stuff like working trains and elevators because of the scripting.

At least Super Fiesta is pretty fun. Nice to see something decent come to Arena from all the Warzone gun nonsense.

I had fun with Submerged. It's all exploration and collectible hunting, with some Assassin's Creed Lite climbing, and no enemies or any way to die. Very creepy and atmospheric. The whole game takes about four hours or so to complete so it's backlog-friendly.
 
Doom can wait. I'm buying Homefront: The Revolution and idgaf what anyone thinks!

Then again, I also said I'd buy Battleborn and I owned it for all of 5 minutes. =-/

I got submerged from a CAG last year and the game was pretty good. It was a short game but I enjoyed it.
 
I'm tempted by Overwatch.

Other than that, my next release date buy will probably be Madden 17 if BB has a trade up deal on it again this year.  If not, either Gears 4 or Train Simulator.

 
Oh no, I wanted to check out my avatar on the X1 and it changed my gamerpic from 360 to the avatar and now I can't change it back to the 360 avatar only to the x1 avatars. RIP in peace Pinky from Ms Pac-man that I've been using for like all of the 360 generation and like 2 years of the X1. I guess I'll use the pink unicorn...It's not the same though, it'll never be the same.

 
I gave Gone Home a try. Put me in the camp that didn't care for it.

Great story-telling, but all things considered, they played it way too safe. Very boring conclusion.

I want to recommend Letter Quest on Xbox One to anyone who enjoys word games. It's a cross between those and role-playing games. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it's one of the most fun games I've played in quite a while.

I picked up Flame in the Flood. I really like the rafting segments. I'm pretty awful at the rest of it, but I think it's mostly from hoarding rather than using supplies. I'd recommend it, but the current sale is weak and I forsee it's appearance on major holiday sales.

Banner Saga was mentioned as one of the games that will be featured in the sale when they first announced the event, so you're in luck. I bought it at launch and loved it, but then again I'm a big fan of strategy RPGs.

I think the ID@Xbox sales are a bit weak in a lot of cases. I'm glad others are supporting smaller developers and I'm interested in several of the games, but I just need to see lower prices in several cases. The Flame in the Flood, Oxenfree, Superhot, and Gone Home are all games I'll buy eventually, but the price points this week just aren't quite low enough for me. At the same time, I feel bad being critical of the sale at all because it's great to see a bunch of these games finally discounted instead of the typical EA/Rockstar/Ubisoft/etc. fare.

 
With so many people saying good things about Overwatch, maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. Good the beta was extended
 
I actually don't understand the reaction to people's confusion of Battleborn and Overwatch. I found them quite similar when they were announced and I feel they play similarly as well.

I'm with most in thinking that Battleborn seems much worse. I tried one run through some level with a few matchmade randoms. Didn't really enjoy the gameplay, didn't get a good feel for the character (some witch-ish, four-armed thing), and didn't quite know what was happening. A tutorial would have helped.

Overwatch was very solid. I wasn't as into it as some are, but if I was looking for a good, new MP shooter, I'd be considering it.
 
I personally enjoyed Overwatch way more than Battleborn, as much as I wanted to like it. The two aren't as different genre wise as some people are trying to make it seem. But the level of polish is hands down in favor or Overwatch.

 
I have enjoyed playing Overwatch with MrShllJcb and Darby; however, it still doesn't seem like a $60 game to me. I'll wait for a price drop, I think. I will say this though, you need at least one other person for it to be any fun at all. I would never play this game by myself.

I could enjoy Overwatch solo if other players are doing the objectives.  It pisses me off when others just wanna shoot from far away and not go to the payload or capture the objective.  Even though they can't hear me I use profanity and yell at these noobs and tell them to go to the objectives lol it's been awhile since I've done this in any game.  Playing with at least one friend really does help but you need a couple more to really dominate.  I love it.  I love how it's team based.  Haven't had this much fun since PvZ: GW, I still need to check out that trial for GW2 before it ends soon too.

I lost a couple of games when we were ahead like 95-30 cause everyone spaced out and stopped playing the objective (PTFO!). Small team objective based gameplay often has issues with PUGs and lack of communication, which is why I have so much more fun in BF's 64 player matches. With 30 other dudes on the team, a couple of them gotta be with it enough to cap and hold a couple points.

I'm sure they will adjust it, being a beta, but that objective counter ticks up way too fast. They can get like 60% from one spawn wave. It's nice that you can come back late in the game, but it could be 2/3 of that speed and would be a lot better.

I'm in the same boat as you on those specific games. I'll eventually get them, but at their current prices, I didn't even consider them for a second. That being said, however, I am a fan of this week's offerings. I may be among the cheapest of CAGs and it still got me to spend around $25-30. It's going to be hard to follow up this week of sales.
