I would highly recommend swapping out the hard drive first thing, so you don't have to re-copy from disk or re-download anything from the internet. U-verse says I have high speed internet but to that I say, "Nay Nay!"

I would've loved to have a discussion about it, but I guess you prefer to just run to other threads and talk down about those that dared to respond to you. I suggested that both options would be the best and that either lacking one of them sucks, though adding external HDD support for those that want it is probably easier than internal hard drive support. I prefer having the option to change out the internal hard drive to not having it, so why is that wrong or crazy?

Also, "a lot of responses" means two or three replies, so you're being misleading about the "anger" that your post created.

If MS doesn't allow for swapping out the internal drive for a larger one, and Sony doesn't allow saving games to an external drive, I would far vastly prefer the MS option to the Sony option...

And I'm not sure bringing baggage from another thread is preferable to...not bringing baggage...

 
There's the argument for better performance with being able to swap out internal hard drives. But I honestly can't tell an ounce of difference between games installed on my internal vs external hard drives on my Xbox One.

I have a PS4 as well and have yet to get around to replacing my internal even though I sorely need to do so. If I had the external option I would already have it. Yes, I'll admit part of it is laziness.

Agreed. I have a 4tb on my one and same, I don't notice any difference which is good because I don't notice any lag or downgrades. Most likely things load up faster with the upgraded external hdd. The only thing I hate about the ps4 limited space options is that you must swap out the old internal hdd, that's the only option. and if you don't have any uses for the old hdd, that becomes junk and a waste. Plus the limit is only 2tb. I feel like we're just in the beginning of this gen and 2tb is still not enough. At least with the one you have both your internal hdd and external hdd, so much more space options.

I didn't "run" to another thread to discuss this. I was responding to someone else's comment about how PS4's lack of external hard drive option was dumb (or something similar). I also never said anything about you specifically and didn't have you in mind when I was referencing the PSN thread. I'm sorry if it came across as complaining about other people or you specifically. Yes, I'm sure I hyperbolized about people's attitudes, but that's why I clarified that I was sort of joking about it in the same way I find joking about console wars and people's allegiance to a plastic box and a large corporation funny.

I actually prefer PS4 to Xbox One and play on it quite a lot more. I just wish Sony would implement some of the same useful features Microsoft has seen fit to give. Vice-versa for Sony, but I find far fewer features or conveniences missing on my Xbox than I do on my PS4.

Someone was kind enough to give away the first one on here which I got and the second is going for laughable amounts on ebay so forget that lol

Well, my Xbox One doesnt like to download when its on standby to my external hd Seagate 2TB USB 3.0, so its a constant pain in the ass. Also its gamepads make my hands hurt, specially the triggers when zooming or accelerating. PS4 everything is good.

This is more support for Counter-Strike GO than Valve has ever shown for it. They basically cropdusted the PS3 and Xbox 360 before sticking to PC for their games going forward.

Maybe it's cause that list is also padded with Aegis Wing and Space Giraffe. I seem to be the only one disappointed to not be getting a monthly BC release. Between the piss poor offerings so far and the prospect of quietly dribbling out more schleck, BC is quite possibly worse on the xbone than it was on the 360 (which was a total joke).

It's weird to think that if this was the original Xbox, we are more than halfway through the life of the consoles. Thinking this will be a 5 or 6 year console so they can get more powerful hardware out for full 1080p.

I doubt they regret it at all after reaching the $50 million in revenue milestone for a game that was made on a $2 million budget.

He never says they regret it, but that he's thought about what would've happened without it and acknowledges that they wouldn't be where they are now without it. They also asked about considering a free-to-play model and a hypothetical Xbox One version in the interview.

Considering the game won't have any cross platform multiplayer with Steam players, putting it on GWG would be a huge help to get that insular community going. Maybe the hype of the last six month would be enough?

There were three responses from the other thread (affa's essay, eldritch agreeing, and my response), so if you weren't talking about any of them, why mention it? They must have poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into R&D on just the controller, and they somehow came to the conclusion that a big controller would be best at the time. Following that logic, we can assume that Americans have big hands. But what about non-Americans? What if Europeans, Asians, et. al. think Xbox controllers are too big and unwieldy and it's costing Microsoft market share? It's not like they can pinpoint that many people find it uncomfortable since Xbox isn't popular outside of America to begin with. And all the console losers in history - Sega Saturn, N64, Dreamcast - had big controllers too. All of them are bigger than a Dual Shock.

That said, the Duke was the reason I didn't buy an Xbox at launch. Once the S came out, I bought one. I don't necessarily have small hands, but the Duke was just bulky, uncomfortable and just a horrible design choice.

 
Anyone tried Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink? It's up on the X1 store now for $10. The description says it's a detective adventure game, so I'm guessing it's very point and click-y. In my opinion, those are either fantastic or god-awful. I've yet to play an "ok" one.

I finished the trial and I really liked it. So far it has easy achievements ( yes, it unlocks cheevos ). It is point-click style of play, with simple puzzles so far. If you plan to try the trial, I think you should keep your spacebucks handy coz you'd need them in a hurry :)

The original quote was taken out of context from a Game Informer interview in the October 2015 issue:

"Q: Seeing how successful it is, do you regret giving it away for free?
A: I would be lying if I said I don't think about that, but there's no way to know. PlayStation has been a very, very key role in this whole thing...it seems to be what made it spark and take off."

He never says they regret it, but that he's thought about what would've happened without it and acknowledges that they wouldn't be where they are now without it. They also asked about considering a free-to-play model and a hypothetical Xbox One version in the interview.

I read that interview, and then was very confused when everyone kept saying they thought ps+ was a mistake.

There were three responses from the other thread (affa's essay, eldritch agreeing, and my response), so if you weren't talking about any of them, why mention it? I don't see why you're perpetuating the "baggage" issue here by continuing to talk about it when you're blaming me for said "baggage." Also, I don't see why you're repeating yourself and your point for something that I already admitted to hyperbolizing on and have apologized for. The PSN thread and comments from a few days ago is not my only interaction with people who think that Sony's hard drive upgrade solution is better or equal to Xbox's and I over-generalized (in a joking way) leading you and perhaps others to believe I was specifically referring to only that recent discussion and only that thread. Again, I'm sorry. I think the people (including yourself) in that thread are generally pretty great and level headed.

 
The Solus Project will be hitting :xb1: Game Preview "early" February. Looks interesting. It is a linear survival game set on a distant planet - not open world. New trailer here.
