I agree with you, but Steam has spoiled me in regards to quality indie games. They've either been 90+% off from the store directly or Humble bundled for almost nothing. Steam is slowly giving crappier discounts, but it's still a big gap on most indie games. Not to mention, I get really cheap when it comes to double-dipping.

I wouldn't say stopped, as much as they haven't done it. Like I said, usually they take a bunch of movies rather than just one. On the older stuff, there was no need to wait obviously (Original Trilogy, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings), but they've generally stayed away from visiting/revisiting an established IP until it's got a few films under its belt. Then there's original licensed stuff like Marvel Super Heroes and the Batman series, which has plenty of source material outside of movies.

The Premium DLC is part of the sale at 60% off for Gold. It wasn't in my initial list since I just scan games and bundles, and when I did a catch up update later, I just put it at the top of the OP.

 
Hate how Battlefield Hardline Premium never goes on sale. Kinda tempted to buy the Ultimate Edition for $29.70 though since I have the disc version.

If it's like Lego Batman 3's season pass it'll be a lot of one shot levels that are made up of a ton of non-canon stuff. I hope it is the same kind of thing, at least. I'd love to get in on some Dash Rendar action.

I'm going to cop that deluxe edition day one just for the Finn minifigure.

I Thought Battlefront showed that Lucasfilms is being super strict in not letting games stray too far from canon or reveal too much? Hence the lack of official Force Awakens video games and such.

Basically what LEGO Batman 3 did. Feels real scummy given my initial concern of lack of content. What exactly could they not fit into the main game?

 
Would be nice if LEGO games allowed more than 2 players. My kids enjoy playing those games together, but it would be fun to play with them. Up to 3 or 4 players would be great.

Gotcha. I've been playing games forever (I'm 33) and I cannot think of ever putting that much time into any game. I probably just have game ADD. Most time I've ever spent in any game was probably around 110 in Skyrim. A close second is Borderlands 2.

I don't think that's necessarily the case. I think they're just trying to be strict with Battlefront because they know they can annualize it and people will pay for each release.

A lot of weird outside of canon and EU stuff was actually referenced in Disney Infinity's Star Wars playsets (Dash Rendar, for example), so I don't think Lucasfilm/Disney has too much of a problem with it as long as it's silly.

One BIG caveat for everyone to keep in mind (I believe this is true based on my experience): Xbox Live keeps track of the hours when that game is loaded and running. It does not track your actual playtime.

For example, I frequently take breaks. I will do one quest in, say, Fallout 4, then pause the game, grab dinner or watch some youtube videos, then return to the game. Whether that break was 20 minutes or 1 hour, it all adds up to the time that is tracked by Xbox. So it is NOT an accurate representation of actual playtime. I think they should actually get rid of that stat or rename it. Sitting in the menus is not the same as "time played."

The EA sale tab has a deal of the day section. Might be cool, but it's a Madden/Fifa bundle today. Might get Dragon Age DLC if it happens.

Battlefront being so cheap digitally seems odd to me. Isn't the playerbase fairly low compared to sales? Maybe they're worried about the DLC tanking.

Ryse going on sale and that recent free promotion scream GWG to me.

Ditto. I'm the same age, have 2 kids, and am in the process of transitioning careers (medical to teaching) and I just don't have the time to invest in stuff anymore. It was cathartic to rid myself of my 360 backlog/collection (I held on to a couple of must play items) and am slowly building up a new, digital backlog on the X1 and just can't find the time to finish anything out. My max hits around 40-50 hours for open world games (Mad Max, Ass Creed, Batman, etc.). I've also totally given up on cheevos. They're nice if I hit them along the way or they're simple to go back and get, but I'm not ever going to replay an entire game to chase a "no-hit" or "never spotted" achievement. My time is too little and too valuable at this point.

 
I haven't bought a game during date night for at least a month.  Maybe this is it!  Maybe I've finally bought all the games I need to play on my 360!  Now all i'll need is around 5 years to get through my back log and it's on to PS3.

 
Question for you all... Do you prefer BF: Hardline or BF 4?  I haven't played one since BF 3, but I really enjoyed it.  If I recall correctly everyone was complaining that Hardline was some sort of cop game?  I sound potato right now.  Please forgive me

You're more likely to enjoy BF4 if you liked BF3. There are probably more people playing 4 than Hardline, too.

You know, I'm with you. I was excited when I saw the game was going to come out, and imagined Battlefield in the Star Wars Universe (climbing into random fighters, destructible worlds, etc). I saw gameplay video and read what others were saying, but still wanted to believe. If they would've simply re-skinned Battlefield as Star Wars, it would've been amazing IMO

Hardline wasn't bad, but I definitely had a lot more fun with 4 premium. I'm also a big BF3 fan and felt at home a bit more with 4, way preferred the traditional game modes to the heist and car chase modes. Had a bunch of fun playing that with friends but it kind of sucked solo which is how i played the majority of it.
