i had the complete opposite experience. I've never been really into turn-based RPGs with grids/movement (important factor, as opposed to other turn-based RPGs like Paper Mario, Final Fantasy, Pokemon, etc), but this game did a good job of teaching the combat and getting me to enjoy it. The story also really helped despite the almost complete lack of voice acting besides literally only one character (kind of jarring, I felt like more characters should have been voiced), and the fact that I hadn't played 1 (the game does a decent enough job explaining the bare bones of the story, though I agree with everyone's recommendation to absolutely play #1 first if you can help it) and I didn't mind the reading though I think there isn't that much of it.

What's funny is I only started up the game for the $2 from getting the Warmonger achievement and thought I'd be rushing through it (you can only get that achievement towards the very end of the game) and skipping all the text, but I found myself engrossed and marathoning it for hours at a time at a regular pace.

tl;dr Game is very good, sucked me in even though I was just trying to blow through it for achievements.

Got major blue balls from that ending though. Can't wait 'till the last game comes out in 2 years.

The previous credit that I got was for $5, redeem by the end of the month (in this case June) and expires after 365 days.

The latest order also for $5 showed redeem by July 2017 (1 year) and good for 90 days on the account.

The change actually equates to a longer expiration period, but it's important not to put the money on the account until you're ready to use it.

For me this is a bit of a bummer because I like to redeem it right away so I don't forget and then follow the expiration dates of all my credit through my MS account.

They changed the page again. Now it says

REDEEM BY June 30, 2017 AND SPEND WITHIN 365 DAYS

So it's a year to activate and then another year to redeem.

Speaking of Bing, does anyone know if you can activate a Xbox-related reward from a Bing account on another Microsoft account as opposed to the one linked to the Bing account, or is that risking a ban?

Super Toy Cars is TERRIBLE. Grabbed it after someone said they enjoyed it, because I also enjoy cart racers. The physics in the game is really bad, it feels like you are driving a brick. If you hit a wall or anything you just stop, even if you are trying to drift into it.

I still 100%'d it in about 6 hours, but it is an awful game.

When I discovered I had this on Steam through a bundle I had bought, I was glad that I didn't buy it on Xbox One. Don't remember how much I paid, but it was probably a buck or two at the time.
 
Seconding (or maybe thirding) the opinion on Super Toy Racers. Is an easy 1k which was doable in 5 or 6 hours with no grinding at the end which is a plus. But otherwise, game is pretty bad. Any collisions with the other racers spin you out or flip you over, walls stop you dead in your tracks, and the music is terrible.

Also noticed Super Night Riders the other night went on sale to $7.99 (or possibly even a price drop). Game is decent enough in small doses, playing similarly to Hang-On from the arcade days. Music is repetitive (although decent imo) and content is light, but considering the style of game, is to be expected. Only complaint is that the AI is too predictable and you can complete races a little too easily. Enjoyment can be had, but would maybe wait for a sub $5 price. Achievements are also quite doable in a short time frame, although the endurance race (completing all 36 courses) leaves you ZERO room for error. Otherwise, I'd say is a fairly easy 750 Gamerscore at the very least.

Considering Divinity Original Sin since it looks like a solid price. Checking out videos kind of reminds me of older RPGs such as Baldur's Gate, but not sure if there's any weight in that observation or not.

I'm really digging Divinity.
I definitely get Baldur's Gate vibes mixed with a little Diablo and Dragon Age. I'm on the first real mission still and it's taking hours. The game is huge.

If the XB1 version is similar to the PS4/WiiU version, then that's good news. But if the reason it's free GwG is so that they can get sales for the multiplayer component, that wouldn't surprise me either...

Nowhere in the article does it say you have to buy the multiplayer component separately. It says there's a MP version and an MP + SP version.

Just an update, I was told via email that the serial number is located on the headset on the right headphone cuff. My package hasn't been opened, so that is a good sign that I'll be getting the adapter/boom mic. Will update this post when all is done. edit - I will say they zip tie this headset good in the package, so unless someone really wanted to spend the effort repackaging this thing, I don't think you have anything to worry about from the ebay seller I got it from.

Another update. Obviously the numbers on the bottom of the box that start with AM, are the same as the serial number on the headphones. As long as they match anyways. So disregard the thought that these haven't already been redeemed by the eBay seller.

Do you guys update everything that need to be updated?  I have like 114 stuff left that needs to be updated but I don't think I will finish the rest since most of them I don't plan to play anytime soon.  But it's giving me some OCD since I want that cleared.  I started updated stuff that starts with A though lol.   Any way to hide the number of what needs to be updated?

I am nothing without this exact OCD, but my console doesn't behave in a predictable manner. Normally the Updates section is empty and I see lots of things that show as recently downloaded/installed in the Queue history section (so I know it does it without my prompting), but yesterday there were three things in the Updates section waiting to be downloaded.

I have my console set to update everything automatically so I never notice.

Co-op Deathmatch will be the selling point for me with Gears 4. During the beta, I hadn't had that much fun with a Gears game since the first one came out. I was really good at the first one, but playing competitive now is just embarrassing for me and anyone on my team.

Oh no, I like it. I just hate how some games the other team is just one big bullet sponge. You put 3 - 4 shots in to someone and they just eat it and then just shoot you once and you're dead. Some games my shotgun feels like it's doing absolutely zero damage.

But then there are games where I'm GOD out there and they just can't hit me and my gnasher is super OP. It all evens out but can get frustrating when you're on the shitty side of it.

I'd be playing GOW3 if I didn't have to turn my 360 on to play. BC version feels weird where I just can't have fun.

That... is EXACTLY why I don't play competitive. I felt like I was just failing because I suck. Which is still at least partially true I'm sure. I even watched videos on YouTube of how to use the gnasher as if I had suddenly forgot since GoW3, I ended up just giving up.

Same rule applies for CoD, Titanfall, or pretty much any shooter. It's a flip of a coin as to whether or not my online session is going to end with me having fun or tossing my controller at my Xbox and calling it a night. Which is why I've started to just avoid any competitive games altogether. I've never been able to understand how I can put a full clip into someone's back and they turn around and nail me in one shot. I refuse to believe every person on Xbox Live is a master of headshots.

I could rock back and forth in my grandpa chair all day telling you about the stories of all the ass I kicked on GoW1 when it launched. But nobody would believe me.
