Started up Doom after picking it up from that sale a month or so ago. It's fun but those glory kills get old quick. And the multiplayer is just abysmal. I played it last night just to get the MP related achievements out of the way, and I'm glad it's not some huge grind. There were guys in my lobby last night who were level 50. Couldn't believe it. There's no accounting for taste with some people.

Titanfall was my No Man's Sky: a game with lots of hype and too little advance info that I bought without doing my due diligence in researching. I ultimately played it week 1 for eight hours....then decided that I regretted my purchase.

Never again.

Well I have been debating between all of these Multiplayer shooters. Call of Duty, Battlefield, Titanfall, Gears and probably more I am forgetting. Honestly the lack of discount on Titanfall 2 with EA Access is enough for me to take it out of the running. The beta was alright and I figured I would get it just to have it because I did like the first one but since I am all digital this gen, I am not going to support that crap of not being part of the program. 

 
Out of the upcoming shooters I feel like CoD:IW might give me more bang to my bucks. I'm not a CoD player too. I think they're having a beta too so hopefully I could feel it out and see if I like it. Dunno yet.

I don't know about you but the beta (alpha?) felt so hollow to me. The first game was much better. They CoDified the game and needlessly slowed it down. And it doesn't have nearly as much thought put into the leveling system as CoD games do. BF1 I just plain didn't like. It was boring to me. And it felt like every other BF game with WWI weapons. Take that for what you will.

If you get MW remastered it might be worth it. I don't know much about IW other than it's way futuristic (meh). Still the CoD games have a decent action/energy element about them. Games are never really boring since you're always getting at least 10+ kills in any match even if you're an average player. If you must get an FPS, I'd probably go for this one above the others, but I'm honestly more excited about the remaster than the main game and that says a lot about it.

 
A few months ago, I backed the Friday the 13th game for $30 to get an XB1 code when it releases.  I'll be 38 in October, and those movies played a huge part in my interest in horror movies which continues to this day.  I realize it will probably be a less-than-spectacular game, and that's okay with me.  A lot of the people involved in the movies are a part of the game, and it seems like they are attempting to make a love letter to the franchise.  I spend more than $30 just taking the family for fast food and I'm hoping to get a least a few hours of fun out of the game to make it worthwhile.  It can't be any more disappointing than Transformers Devastation, which I pre-ordered and played for a whopping 5 hours, never touching it again.  I think the game has potential to be somewhat popular due to the nostalgia factor amongst gamers in my age bracket.

 
I don't know... Just like I have always been an Xbox person, I have always been a CoD person. I've tried Battlefield a bunch of times. I just don't like how they play. I bought Battlefront just because it was Star Wars, but still hated it. I'm just done trying. I'm gonna buy CoD and like them. If it's a turd (like Ghosts), then I'll play the old one for another year.

 
People give ghosts to much flak… I enjoyed it, the multiplayer was satisfying, and Extinction was a great 4 player mode that surprisingly still has active players. I was hoping for an extinction 2 for infinite warfare, but the only extra mode people want is zombies.
 
My second Xbox one controller crapped out on me today. Stupid thing has something busted, rattling around inside and it is affecting the left stick and sometimes the trigger. So this left me with some questions that hopefully some of you can answer

Does MS refurbish controllers and if so then for how much?

Any deals on controllers lately? I don't see them pop up often

Last question what about the elite controller, is it worth it? I would be worried about reliability because if it breaks in a year with the same crap I would be pretty pissed at $150.

 
So - just to be clear, the $10 versions of Marvel Ultimate Alliance for X360 don't work on Xbox one, but the $50 versions do?

It's simple, we kill the Batman... and yeah you know Gears 4 looks like the good 'ol Gears of yesteryear.

 
Stories of Bethem is an amazing game/value for $8 if you are a fan of classic Zelda style games, and the puzzles are kind of like Tales/Wild Arms/Golden Sun with the magic and such, only problem is the game can crash when you save, but it always happens after a save at least so you don't lose the data. Highly recommend it if you enjoy those style of games. 

 
So to download the free Forza game this month I got to have a credit card on my account? That is so lame. I use all pre paid dollar cards on my xbox account. Had the same problem when I tried to buy Skate 3 with the xbox live credit I already had. That is so lame. Are there any work arounds?
 
So $53.99 after EA Access discount on BF1, plus a free month of EA Access and $4 or $5 (can't remember) rebate from Xbox Rewards.. Not bad for digital imo.

So to download the free Forza game this month I got to have a credit card on my account? That is so lame. I use all pre paid dollar cards on my xbox account. Had the same problem when I tried to buy Skate 3 with the xbox live credit I already had. That is so lame. Are there any work arounds?

You can add a prepaid credit card to your account. Doesn't even need to have a balance on it, though I keep $1 on mine just to be safe.

 
Think I'm going to wind up pre-ordering FH3 Ultimate.  Was thinking about it and yeah $80 (with Amazon or BBY discount) sucks but I've bought all the games and passes and VIP for the last three Forza games.  Works out to about 35% off on those and you get the steelbook.  Too bad GS doesn't have a GCU type program, their pre-order cars are much better and you get a toy car.

 
keep in mind the FH3 ultimate from amazon/best buy with GCU discount is NOT play anywhere, so you won't be able to play on PC that version.  You need to buy the digital only, $100 no discount version to get the one that gives you both a xbox one and PC license with a single purchase.  While you can buy digitally from gs/bby/amazon, buying it straight on xbox.com will get you the preload and playing the game at 9pm PST on 9/22, hours if not a day ahead of everywhere else.

re: FH1, you should be able to simply buy it on xbox.com without needing a CC attached, I don't have one and "bought" it (for $0) no problem.  I don't have a 360 though, just an xbox one dunno if its different if you only have a 360

I always preorder through BBY b/c of GCU 20% discount. But someone gave me $30 worth of Game$top giftcards for my bday and that toy car bonus looked pretty sweet. I know I'll regret getting FH3 on release when I see how cheap I could get it by Black Friday. Usually, the CAG in me waits for the big price drop ... but Horizon is one of those rare games that I want to play day one ... even if it costs me more $$$.

I know that ARK has gotten some flack for the recent DLC but does anyone recommend it while it's on sale?

Yeah, that one wasn't fun. Bandit round up with a gun that has explosive damage. The spray and pray that cricket sells is good for it. It'll hit every target on the board if you just point it down near the center. Be warned it still took me like and hour or two. I didn't need to collect the tickets after every round so I simply stood still, aimed down with the right stick to put the token in aimed back up, tapped the trigger every few seconds until the music ended. rinse and repeat. once I felt I had a good amount of tickets, I'd collect them and save in case the game crashed. Be warned, you need a lot of tokens and a lot of bullets. I multitasked while I did this to kill the monotony.

Edit: Don't forget to drop the tickets off in the redemption machine when you've collected enough.

This was the last achievement I needed as well and did the same thing but used the explosive shotgun. Took about 2 hours. I snapped sling and watched TV while I did it so that annoying arcade song didn't get stuck in my head.
 
Think we will get more Forza sales tonight? I am hoping they have different dlc sales up till horizon 3 so I can grab the the ones I'm missing.

What's the trick to getting benevolent leader? All the guides I found online have not worked for me
