FORZA HORIZON WARNING!!!!

The Forza community in the know expects Forza Horizon 1 DLC (and possibly the digital version of the game) to be completely removed sometime soon this fall. It was removed from FM3 and FM4 with NO WARNING FROM TURN 10 or MS shortly before the fourth anniversary of release due to license expiration. That anniversary is this fall. FM3 DLC and some FM4 DLC had a mini fire sale where the DLC went deep discount (90% for FM3 and 50 to 70% on some not all FM4 DLC) on a non regular sale day (as in not date night or in another sale) and then permanent removal followed a few days later. No announcements were made at all. It was clear Turn 10 PR was unaware both times until after people complained of the situation and they later issued a statement that removal due to licensing had occurred. Some DLC codes no longer work as it was a total removal in some cases. Make sure to redeem any codes soon and make copies of your DLC in case you lose it due to HD failure. And keep in mind this may be the last sale before removal.

I recommended this to someone else earlier: Wait for the next FH sale where they drop stuff to 75% off. I know Storm Island has hit 75% and I'm pretty sure the Car Pass has too. The Porsche Pack has hit 50% being newer and the other packs not included in the Car Pass have hit 40 to 60% except for one. This will work out cheaper and Forza stuff actually goes on sale now as opposed to FM4 which only went on sale twice.

The Horizon line is much more of an arcade racer. It has it's sim-based roots in the handling and controls, but they are much more forgiving and fun. There is an emphasis on jumps and tricks which get rewarded with XP. I'd give it a try if you like arcade racers.

It has the top down perspective of something like those Infinity Engine style games. There is a single player campaign of sorts, but I thought it was lifeless. I LOVE crpgs, Diablo, and D&D. That's been my gaming bread and butter since I was a kid. Sword of the Coast greatly appealed to me when they were describing the features, but I was disappointed once I got my hands on it.

The campaign is stale and the creation tools are too limited. You can't create a map, it's generated for you based on some choices you provide. You can't create NPC, quests, etc... You're limited to creating enemies and tweaking their stat properties. The creation tools are really there to allow you to fill a randomly generated dungeon map with enemies. Boo. It's a game that prioritizes combat and the combat isn't that interesting.

I'm talking about this game again and getting excited about the game that I wish it was. Great ideas, poor execution on them. Feels like they ran out of money.

Speaking of sales, I was checking storeparser yesterday and it showed Taken King DLC at a 35% discount, also listed on Major's post. Storeparser showed it at 25.99, I checked it on my console and it was 29.99 (Same as the LE on sale right now). Could this be a pricing error ? Or Major posting a wrong discount ?

On another thread someone told me GTA v was $30 but it's still showing full price for me. He said download a few free DLC's for the 360 version then it should show the correct price. I'm like WTF tried it anyways and no luck. Is it on sale or not?

It is some sort of weird glitch I think. This happened months ago. I bought all the free DLC for 360 and sure enough it shows as $30. Then it went back to $59.99 till a few days ago. Back to $30 for me. A few people say when they go to check out it doesn't actually work.

I am tempted but rather have it on PS4 so haven't pulled the trigger. Shows $30 as of now but I am not convinced the transaction would go through anyway.

Since those are some of my favorite games of all time, I will recuse myself and offer Swords of the Coast my upright middle finger on the way out :)

Also, since this game came back on my radar today, I did some digging and found that the development studio shuttered. That's a bummer. It's in the hands of a new publisher and there were no updates that I saw about whether that publisher was going to put a team on it to finish some of the features the folks that lost their jobs had planned. Considering the fire sale MSRP, I'd guess not.

 
Well I said screw it and added all the DLC for the 360 version of GTA v and sure enough the XBONE version showed up as 50% off so $30 plus tax so I made the purchase and it now shows in ready to download. Thanks for the tip!

Agreed, but it worked eventually for me. Got all the free dlc for the 360 version (did it online, don't need the 360) and then it showed at $30 online. Course neither the Xbox website, Xbox PC app nor the Xbox One smartglass would let me purchase it. Kept giving me some weird error message.

Finally, like a day later, the price finally updated to $30 on the One itself and it worked. 2 days later and it's finally downloaded and playing as we speak (type?).

I did this and also bought FRU. Considering what I've read on the reviews for both games, these should be worthy titles. Plus I want to support Kinect developers that actually innovate with the device, even if MS doesn't innovate.

I did it all from my Android phone on the Microsoft store and had no problems with purchase.
 
This isn't directly Xbox related but Battleborn PC is in the current HumbleBundle for $15, with Borderlands The Pre-Sequel to make it semi-appetizing. The game is 2 months old with only about 500 players currently playing on PC, I think this is the death bell. I'll be surprised if it isn't F2P within a month of the final season pass DLC.

And keep in mind this may be the last sale before removal.

I recommended this to someone else earlier: Wait for the next FH sale where they drop stuff to 75% off. I know Storm Island has hit 75% and I'm pretty sure the Car Pass has too. The Porsche Pack has hit 50% being newer and the other packs not included in the Car Pass have hit 40 to 60% except for one. This will work out cheaper and Forza stuff actually goes on sale now as opposed to FM4 which only went on sale twice.

The Horizon line is much more of an arcade racer. It has it's sim-based roots in the handling and controls, but they are much more forgiving and fun. There is an emphasis on jumps and tricks which get rewarded with XP. I'd give it a try if you like arcade racers.

It's also important to add that, if you're interested in the Forza Rewards program, you also get some points for DLC purchases. I never played FM4 but, in case I was interested in that, I couldn't get 250 points (out of 2k) from that title.

Probably still isn't worth it with only 500 people playing. Plus TPS ain't BL2. BL2 I still play on both PS4 and XBox One. Haven't even installed TPS on my XBox One. Two playthroughs is all I I think I need of TPS.

10 second ninja x is getting great reviews and the gameplay vids make it look promising. Kind of in the super meat boy line of easy to pick up and play, impossible to put down.

For some reason when it first went on sale weeks/months ago it wasn't advertised very well (or maybe not at all) and the majority of people that saw the discounted price had already downloaded the free DLC from the :360: version. In addition, there has been a tile on my :xb1: advertising the $30 price (which is silly because I already own it digitally). Would I lead you astray jeztur? ;)

That F2P Frozen game is fun but there's no way to progress without buying more lives...LAME!

I should just stop with F2Ps...started Battle Islands, got addicted. Started Gems of War, got addicted. Now Frozen wants to rip me off. Its more like a F2P trial before you have pay money for the whole game.

Yeah, at least the last time i checked(last month) they haven't. cant be bothered to get a physical version so ill just wait until its BC and see if it works then

When I turned on my 360 just now, I saw an ad that said that the price for GTA V will remain that way until August 1.

In other news, I logged in to buy the Cocoa's Nightmare Attack DLC for Phantom Breaker since I already own the game and can't find it. Was it pulled down?

I went after work. They had one $25 card and a few $15 cards both green. No $50 cards. Would not work with the $15 card. She asked if it was in the flyer. I said yes. Asked to see flyer. It only shows the $25 one (which is almost all white). I asked if they had more $25 cards as I really wanted two anyway. She said the barcodes are printed on the receipt. Rang me up two $25 codes which came out to $42.50 with no issue.

Not sure if they have a mini binder of codes behind the register like other Dollar chains do. Or if you are SOL if the $25 cards aren't on the pegs.

The $15 code was the one I bought yesterday that didn't ring up with the discount, so that makes sense. I didn't see a denomination bigger than $25, and yes, it is a code if you're buying Xbox credit. Their Steam cards are actual cards.
 
Man, after watching some videos of Draw a Stickman I'm seriously considering it. It looks awesome/hilarious. Anyone here recommend it?

Yeah, that Frozen one is easily the worst of the bunch. It is really shitty F2P. Gems of War isn't near as bad, my wife plays it and she's over level 100 and we haven't spent any money on it. ("If I had a dime for every penny I'd spent on that game, I'd have... zero dimes!)
