Depends on your taste. To me, MK is much more a Western fighter and KI hearkens back to the Street Fighter/Japanese era of fighters. I like MK for the gore, fatalities and the characters. Never got into SF/KI. And MK XL has TONS of characters, skins, gore, fatalities, unlockables, modes, etc. It was the reason I got an Xbox One early 2014

I never played the original DOOM and I haven't played any FPS games from the 90s, but I think FPS games in general.

Whats bad about the multiplayer? Bland design, unstable servers, etc.?

 
There's nothing wrong with the MP, it's just that it feels like a Halo knockoff. It's OK, not the worst I've ever played. You can pick up demon runes and play as a Cacodemon if you have the DLC, and it's awesome.

And yes, people are playing. It's not hard to find a game at all, but only for Team Deathmatch, it seems like.
 
Spend all year being an Cheap Ass and now my Dad wants to go to the Big Ten football championship (I live in Indy, we are from WI). Tickets are like $175-$200.  I have been on the computer all day hoping for something cheaper to show up.  It is crazy that sites like StubHub and RazorGator charge a 25% fee on each ticket.

It's terrible in the sense it's a Halo knockoff and not on the level of other ID multiplayer games. It's playable and you can find games but it lacks what made Quake III great (to sum it up, they outsourced the multiplayer). I wouldn't buy DOOM for multiplayer but nevertheless singleplayer is quite amazing.

Both are very entertaining games. I think KI is a bit deeper personally. Like the other user posted, you'll be right at home if you're a street fighter fan. MK game is a great fighter too but the online community would inevitably move on to Injustice 2 if you're big into multiplayer. Very good online system for KI.

Can we not talk about Big Ten football please? My team got robbed and CAG is my getaway from that crap. Jk I'll get over it eventually but man that was tough.

On the bright side, I finally beat the first Mass Effect!!! I used it cure my depression from today's football games. I was sad and Mass Effect made me totally forget about it. What a last hour of that game! It goes from being dialog heavy all game to action packed ending and is sooo much fun.

And just to emphasize how nerdy and into the game I was, I dug up the old CAG thread from 2007 (https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/82664-mass-effect-gen-discussion-info-pinnacle-station-dlc-now-available-400pts/?hl=%2Bmass+%2Beffect) and throughout my 15 day/36 hour playthrough, I would read a couple thread pages here and there and pretended it was happening as I played the game haha shoutout to Spybreak playing that game at launch and taking part in the thread back in the day!

However there is a coupon good till the 30th which is also $19.99. A few people in one of the Game Stop threads said they got an override for free or almost free. Guy tried to scan the coupon but it didn't work. I didn't try to get an override or anything. This for a re-certified one. Not new.

Store I went to yesterday wasn't sure if they had them decided to just try somewhere else (I got the last Dying Light for either platform apparently and was happy with that

Even stranger coupon seems to be gone from my active offers now even though it didn't do anything when he scanned it.

I am tempted on Forza Horizon 3 too. I enjoyed the demo but really hate/suck at driving games. $40 (with tax) for Digital I think for me makes no sense. Maybe grab it physical when much cheaper. Looks great though and wasn't too frustrating the couple hours I played of the demo.

I think MK has a bigger scene as well. One way I determine whether or not I buy a fighting game is to watch tournaments of it. You get to see some of the top players play, and see what different characters can do at their full potential. You can also see how hype the crowd is when it comes to the championship matches. It can give you a slight idea of how much support the game has (and also signal the longevity of the game; the more hype crowd a game has, usually the longer that game ends up being played after release).

I've watched both Killer Instinct and MK tournaments live, and the MK matches were more hype than KI. Seeing someone pull off a Brutality to win the match was a lot more excited than seeing a 30 hit combo that just looks like the same hit over and over.

I'm biased towards MK, so take what I said with a grain of salt.

For me it's that ultimately awesome convenience of just going from one game to another on the Xbox, being digital versions. So recently I've been going from ace game time in Skyrim Special Edition and then jump on over to FH3 and do some races, race around and discover more virtual world. Aside from the instant-on feature we get this generation in gaming, that seamless switch from game to game is my second favorite feature. I would always get no cd cracks way back in my PC gaming days to replicate this very technique.

On the bright side, I finally beat the first Mass Effect!!! I used it cure my depression from today's football games. I was sad and Mass Effect made me totally forget about it. What a last hour of that game! It goes from being dialog heavy all game to action packed ending and is sooo much fun.

And just to emphasize how nerdy and into the game I was, I dug up the old CAG thread from 2007 (https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/82664-mass-effect-gen-discussion-info-pinnacle-station-dlc-now-available-400pts/?hl=%2Bmass+%2Beffect) and throughout my 15 day/36 hour playthrough, I would read a couple thread pages here and there and pretended it was happening as I played the game haha shoutout to Spybreak playing that game at launch and taking part in the thread back in the day!

It's not very CAG of me but I can't decide between Ori and just paying full price for Axiom Verge instead of waiting for a sale. I've wanted that game for so long, I'm having trouble saying no to it. It came out less than 2 months ago (on X1) so I'm guessing it'll be awhile until it has a sale...

Also, I feel like Ori has GWG written all over it, so there's that.

Yeah so I grabbed Newegg mobile and set up an account but when I try to go through the checkout there's no place to input that code. They had a banner on the top of their page on the app that stated that code and that it's good for mobile or newegg.com. I just tried to use it on their site, as there is an option to use a promo code, and it says it's invalid... ? :whistle2:& :whistle2:k

 
The only way to buy bc 360 games on X1 is with credit card?

Yes. It's fucking ridiculous. I got burned on that too, since nowhere on an Xbox gift card does it say, "Oh, an entire category of XBOX GAMES are walled off from this store credit"!

Hmmm I'm thinking since Ori had a physical release the disc may eventually go cheaper if it's not GWG. Plus I'd like to support Tom Happ and his family, sad stuff. Paying full price for a game goes against everything I believe in, though, especially in a post-GCU world :)

 
Having trouble finding this online, maybe someone can help. I just see answers to reformat and that's not working. 

Used to have a 1TB external for games on my xbone. Got the gears slim and had no need for it on the xbone. Formatted it via windows 10 but once that happened the drive was no longer coming up in "my computer" but was showing up in the device manager/devices to safely remove. I've tried reformating fat32, ntfs on windows 10 and windows 8, tried other partition programs as well.

I plug it into my windows 8 computer comes up fine, windows 10 no dice.

On the app, go to your shopping cart. Scroll down. Just above the orange "Secure Checkout" button, you will see "Promo Codes". Hit that and enter the code.

Did you open up disk management on Win 10 machine with the drive connected? You might have to right click on the new partition and assign it a drive letter.

Just do a search in Windows for disk. You will see an option for create and format hard disk partitions. Click on that to get into Disk Management.

If that doesn't work post a screen shot of Disk Management. Curious what it shows.
