Contemplating getting Minecraft Story Mode, but I don't feel a need to get it digitally.  Anyone see it cheaper anywhere else?  I figured it would be on sale physically, but unless I missed it somewhere that doesn't seem to be the case.​

Best Buy had it for $13.50 (GCU) in early november. I'd bet we see it drop that low again before the holidays.

 
Amazon been playing hardball with me the last few months

they used to always refund the difference for price changes when I threw them an email if it was within a week but they aren't having it anymore haha

I sure miss the old days of Amazon

Yeah Target had a toy I got for my son for WAY cheaper and Amazon wouldn't price match and then charged me $6 for shipping on the return even though I'm a Prime subscriber. I guess they are trying to actually make money these days. Trump will shut them down soon enough.

They went a long time catering exclusively to the customer I understand why they gotta pull back a bit but for those of use that have shopped their since the beginning it's a bit of a bummer.

I used to just buy shit and keep a track on it for refunds of the difference but now shit just sits in my cart for months

I'm not sure which is better for them but I thought the only way benefited both me and amazon lol

 
I'm getting really tempted by Skyrim this cheap. Shame my gcu from the CoD stream only shipped Friday after I threatened them with a PayPal dispute.

It's 30 games, but don't think of it as 30 games that you have to play through. MANY of the games included are so outdated that they're basically just included for the "look how far we've come" aspect. That was a common complaint about the collection. It's advertised as 30 games, but many you'll only play for five minutes.

Nobody is buying physical discs anymore, so of course they have to make those a cheaper option now. With that in mind, they don't *need* to make the digital versions cheaper.

I used to be a disc snob, and I've since converted. I refuse to buy physical discs now, because with 2 young kids bad things can/do happen to my discs. And i have buddies who are now the same way.

They changed their price protection policy to only cover TVs sold by certain sellers. No other items covered anymore.

I'd say the majority of people still buy physical. Lots of people still need physical discs due to no or slow internet, data caps or just a lack of online storefront usage. I'm following in your footsteps, but not there yet. For me price is still the primary dictator of where and how I purchase games and physical almost always wins.

 
Started playing Watch Dogs 2. Got it for free with work "rewards" points after seeing how good the reviews were after not really getting into the first game.

Wow, what an improvement. Just the opening mission sucked me in. This is what the first game should have been.
 
Just posted this in the BB Skyrim post for today's deals, but wasn't sure where it belonged. Sharing here, too, since I'm sure XBL sub deals are appreciated:

... GCU is currently taking 10% off XBL subscription cards. Just got the 6+1 month card (normally $39.99) for $26.99. It even did the little strike through animation thing for GCU when showing the price. Between that and the Walmart deal on Thursday, I got 13 months for $37 (subtracting the $15 price of the game that came with the WM XBL card).

Note: This is working with all XBL sub cards it seems, but the 6+1 month appears to be the best deal. $13.49 for 3 months isn't bad either though if you want to spend less right now.

Got the XB1S up and running with Rock Band 4/Rivals and downloaded like 850 old DLC from RB3.  So much good DLC since RB4 release!!  I have to go buy more cards from Staples!

 
Bought ESO when it was $5.99 at Redbox. Played a bit and liked it but it was a casualty of needing room for other games. But I'm getting a 2TB external today so going to reinstall a ton of stuff.

With ESO, is it worth getting the "gold" edition if you already have the vanilla version?

I guess it includes the DLC but I am not going to be play for 100+ hours.

I have the vanilla version but was thinking all week about upgrading via Crown Packs (since they are on sale). But it was cheaper to just get the Gold Edition disc than buy the necessary Crown Packs. So I bought the last Gold Edition copy my BB had in store.

I didn't care for it at first, but I played it again this week (solo, w/ the new One Tamriel update) - and it is pretty fun. And the Dark Brotherhood DLC looks/sounds pretty good.

Hmmm...gotta think on this some more since I also just bought Skyrim for $20. With so many games, I'm still not sure I'd play it enough. The main reason why I even got the vanilla was because I knew they had dropped the subscription fee so for $6 figured I'd give it a shot.

I have the vanilla version but was thinking all week about upgrading via Crown Packs (since they are on sale). But it was cheaper to just get the Gold Edition disc than buy the necessary Crown Packs. So I bought the last Gold Edition copy my BB had in store.

I didn't care for it at first, but I played it again this week (solo, w/ the new One Tamriel update) - and it is pretty fun. And the Dark Brotherhood DLC looks/sounds pretty good.

Since this is much more active than the actual XB1 thread, I'll ask here.

I've currently got a regular 500GB XB1 console with all of my games installed to a 2TB external drive. I'm purchasing a 500GB XB1S and selling my original console - anyone know if I can just plug my external into the new one and be off and running or will it need to format the drive first (thus reinstalling everything)?

I just upgraded a few weeks ago. I plugged in my externals and it recognized them after a few minutes. It took about an hour for all the games to populate (400+ because I hate myself), but after that it was good to go.

Just stopped playing eso after playing a solid year and a half since its launch, if you need some gear sets to start off with hit me up.

On another note, the price of witcher 3 complete addition was raised from $25 to 29.99, makes the decision between it and the naruto deluxe edition easy.

 
Buyer beware on Stern Pinball. Farsight has been pathetic in their support of XBox One over the last several years.

May turn out ok, but The Pinball Arcade wound up anything but "fine."

 
I'm really glad my GCU expired right now, because I'd be spending a whole lot more money that I don't have. The sales today and the past few days have been ridiculous.

With that said, does anyone else feel that it is odd that we are all praising and giddy over this sale when almost all of the items that have a retail release were cheaper on retail/disc?
Some only by like $5, but some were on sale digitally for almost double what they were on retail disc.

I bought the RotTR SP became it was a fantastic price and I wanted to support and encourage putting SPs on sale by themselves.
But they still have a ways to go to get people to go all digital when retail discs are so much cheaper.
Or are they banking on "the convenience" of Not having to swap discs out?

The thing I believe is the big three publishers, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, don't want to sour their relations with their retail distribution. As it's not yet where everyone will get their games from some sort of online service - akin to what Steam has pulled of with PC gaming. This country's infrastructure just isn't there yet. BB, Walmart, Sam's Club and Gamestop still want people coming into their store looking to buy something and then pick up games or pick up games and then oh well yeah let's grab a TV, stereo entertainment audio system or even a lone customer who wants to buy an appliance as well. (Lol, I worked BB a few years.)

That and convenience.

 
Played a little of Titanfall 2 MP today for the first time. Man this thing feels so much less epic and watered down compared to the original. I remember the first one was so frantic and frenetic. In the limited time I played, it felt like a Call Of Duty game with Titans. Meh. *goes back to TF1*
 
I bought skyrim on Amazon for 30 and a few hours later it hit 25 and they wouldn't price match. Also sent to wrong address, Amazon is always trouble for me

I played Neverwinter for some time. It was ok, but the problem was it felt like a F2P game. Like just the gameplay itself felt kinda lacking and more of an average F2P WoW knockoff. Only reason I kept playing it was friends were, because I would of stopped a long time ago.

Not saying that ESO is much better, but at least when playing ESO, it feels more complete of a game over Neverwinter. They were not just trying to make a half ass WoW like game.

I never played the first one but I had a lot of fun with TF2 MP the last 3 days. I could never get into the MP much in Battlefield. Played some BF4 MP back when it was first out. Just got killed all the time and felt like I wasn't helping my team in the least.

Same with the last few COD games. Only played Attrition so far. I did well in some matches and not so well in others. Almost always felt like I was helping my team and making progress.
