Holy cow, you're bring up the past. Maybe 70+% completion? Been over six years but for all the negatives like the third person shooting, complaints of the sci-fi story, etc....I enjoyed my time with it. Once I got into it, I dug the flying, adjusted to the 3rd person on foot segments and got sucked into the story.

Dunno it it holds up as it did back in January 2010, but I suggest firing it up again.

Edit: After looking at the achievement list, it needed a specific play through w/guide to get 1,000/1,000 in one go for under 15 hours. It even had dlc for an extra 250. Don't be worried about 100%ing, just play for the fun of it. Think it was around this time I gave up on "completing" games and just played that for fun, not worrying bout gamerscore. It makes the experience more memorable, trust me. You don't need that full 1k to like games. One broken achievement won't hold me back from playing Darksiders 1 or 2, whichever one has glitches. I'll eventually play it cause I want to experience it

tl;dr - Dark Zero is a fun flying experience with a jet pack strapped to your back if you give it a chance & gamerscore ain't the end all be all. Play games for fun

Dark void was fun.  I 1k'd it back in the day.  I thought it was a great game that was sadly overlooked.  Played really well and had tight controls.  You could get all cheevs in 1 playthrough.

I can't decide if I should bite the bullet and on dying light enhanced edition. I'm not a huge zombie fan but the transversal and potential coop with a friend intrigues me. Any thoughts anyone? I doubt it will go cheaper in countdown sale.

You might make out pretty well. I returned my copy of ReCore after reading reviews and they gave me the 15,000 XBL Rewards points anyway.
 
Bought Never Alone Arctic Collection. Should be a fun and quick completion. Closing in at 100,000 Gamerscore to end the year, so I've been playing easy games in my backlog like NBA 2k6 and any Telltale games I never started but bought on Xbox One (finished them all on 360).

I do see the 15K in points pending, but the email I got was from the online store, so this is how I see this playing out:

  1. I don't receive my refund from returning the game in-store, because the clerk initiated the online return (apparently).
  2. Since I don't have the game to return in the mail, I don't get the amount refunded to my card from the online purchase.
  3. Online store support sees that I have initiated a return and decide to yank the points out of my account preemptively.
This game (that I no longer have) better be awesome! :)

How is this any different trading back in the game at a BB after you still got the $10 GC for preordering it - with a discount if you use your GCU membership.

Oh yes, it's certainly aged. Shame that the other 2K6 games have had their prices jacked up since I bought NBA. Not sure if I really want to spend $5 per game for something I'll never play again, but it will help me reach that goal with less effort and time.

Yeah. It's a weird quirk with MS store pre-orders. They didn't pull the 15K for ReCore even though I returned the game for a refund, and last year they gave me points for both the Rare Replay pre-order I cancelled and the second one I placed (so I could use a Golden Crisp code). Ended up getting $30 back on a $30 game. Worth every penny.

Slain has a "horror theme" but there is nothing scary about a 2D side scroller. Judging by True Achievements it's not going to be an easy completion. Really digging the first 20 minutes, plays a lot like Castlevania Symphony of the Night but with some of the Dark Souls "parrying" system.

I was optimistic that they knew what they were doing - that they knew how to 'sell' the reality and relatability of its world & stories. Great cast, a well-regarded director. Even an aggressive release date. (summer + November + December are prime movie months)

Got my last final on Wednesday, so will probably see it on Thursday or Friday afternoon

 
I got a question, I pre-ordered Final Fantasy XV from the Microsoft Store and just got my 15000 reward points, but started up the process to return it after losing interest in playing due to the talk abut the game getting a lot of patches in the future and rather wait until then to play it. Do I lose the 15000 points if I return it?

I'm in Canada. Classes finished on the 9th and exams started from the 12th to the 21st (lucky me had an exam on the first day and have one on the last day)

update: well i'm playing through the episode for free so far. I'll update again if there is a trial somewhere or if it lets me play through the whole episode. Either way, you might want to grab the free version.

Edit: Yup, just beat the first episode. So right now the free trial is definitely the full first episode, but i'm sure that'll get fixed.

So, someone give me some honest advice: I have a bunch of GCs at Best Buy and I'm tempted to spend a little on Homefront: The Revolution for $10. I liked the original enough to finish it. I'm also a fan of open world games like AssCreed and Mad Max and such. I also generally like FPS games. However, I've never been able to get into any of the FarCry games at all, even the critically acclaimed 3. There is just something about those games that doesn't click with me even though I love the idea of them. Will I like Homefront enough to actually play it or is it really FarCry-ish?

Also, GTA V is $30. I enjoy those for a while but lose interest pretty quickly. I'm tempted by both...

Thanks Bloomy. I forgot it's date night. Didn't even clean out my car for it and forgot to pick her up.

Metro is on sale again? Anyone that is remotely interested in shooters should pick this up. $6 is grand theft. I don't feel too bad paying $7.50.

RE4 is tempting. Haven't played that one.
