Well, I got my 1000 points returned, plus the 500 points as an apology for the 1000 points being returned, and then the 1000 outage points. So that changes things for me in terms of getting a little extra XBox credit for the sale
 
My most played game this year was Warframe.  After getting through the tough beginning grind the game is really pretty great.  The number of different weapons and warframes really make the repeated gameplay feel fresh.  The developers are really engaged with the community and they have been pumping out new content on a regular basis.  I have spent about $35 in real money but I put 310 hours in this year (wow that is crazy to see that actually).

 
My most played of this year was Destiny. Should be Overwatch but I got it in late October. Last year was ESO, which makes sense. Only 436 achievements for 10,477 (damn odd numbers). I wasn't trying this year it seems. Top 1%. Last year 17%.

 
Considering I knew almost nothing about Minecraft I actually enjoyed the free episode 1.  I am debating though on just waiting for the complete season to go on sale.

 
Im tempted at getting the new deus ex as its so cheap but was wondering if the shooting is improved over human revolution, played the first 5 minutes when it was gwg and thought the shooting was awful and quit

The thingy said I earned 6690 gamerscore this year.  That didn't sound right to me and I was bored enough to add it up, I actually earned 10,055.  Maybe it didn't count 360 achievements and/or secret achievements?  Im sure there must have been a cut off of when it calculated but I doubt I made 3k+ in that time

Most played games sound about right though

This year was Overwatch

Last year was Metal Gear Solid V.  

Might have put in a lot of time in MGSV but I most certainly didn't like it as most games I usually play that much of.  Im a big fan of the series and was just desperately trying to find the good in it.  And it's absurdly long with side quests.

I'll vouch for Payday 2 on Xbox One, they have been turning it around and added a bunch of the dlc and promised more and more achievements, have been playing it with a group of friends and there is A LOT of content, far more then Vermintide, like ~50 heists right now, yeah they haven't had a great track record, but Overkill got the rights to the franchise back a while ago and everything has been turning around since then.

Anyone have any opinions on Michonne?  I like The Walking Dead games but I was pretty unsure about this one.  The trial didn't seem very interesting.  On top of that I don't really think crossing the game continuity with the show/show/whatever is great idea.

I tried looking into reviews but there aren't any really from publications I know.  At least not for the entire series.  Im not reading reviews for each episode.  And there's zero discussion for it on gamefaqs.  Not really interested in looking into any other forums.

Anyone have any opinions on Michonne? I like The Walking Dead games but I was pretty unsure about this one. The trial didn't seem very interesting. On top of that I don't really think crossing the game continuity with the show/show/whatever is great idea.

I got it during the last sale and really enjoyed it. My only real experience with The Walking Dead is the Telltale games, and I've loved all of them so far. Michonne has some pretty emotional moments in the latter bits which are just as well done as seasons 1 and 2. The only downside is that it's only 3 episodes and you'll want more to play after it ends, if you're like me.

The game isn't crossing into the TV show continuity though, I don't think. She's also in the comic and the games are going more off of the comics, right?

I tried looking into reviews but there aren't any really from publications I know. At least not for the entire series. Im not reading reviews for each episode. And there's zero discussion for it on gamefaqs. Not really interested in looking into any other forums.

Its decent. If you liked the others you will probably like this one as well. I personally didn't like that one as much. It was one of the weaker ones story wise.

It's a side note to the comic story lines. At one point she left the group for a few months this just explained where she went.

For the price it's worth it. I paid full price for it and felt jipped. It's only 3 episodes and just didn't interest me like the others.

The trial was bugged and allowed you to play the entire episode with achievements, they fixed it now though.

edit: I got the wrong Walking Dead. I don't think the Michonne game was ever free on X1.

oh well, I played too much Overwatch according to my stats.

Thinking it was a giveaway on twitter I entered a code for a Xbox one game. Now I find out it's a glitch so freaking I'm going to get banned. Really wish the website that posted it on twitter would have said it. Anyone ever redeemed a code that was glitched and allowed unlimited redemptions? If so did you get banned. I can't believe how stupid I was thought for sure it was a contest.
 
Yeah, I slowed down this year too. Also Warcraft and getting back onto fighting games.

Destiny is tempting at that price but don't know if i should pull the trigger on it yet so when is destiny 2 scheduled to release? I might just wait for that instead.
 
Is Dues Ex the only BC game that hasn't had the deal price jacked up because its BC and instead has actually gone down?!?!

I'm not counting Escape Dead Island because apparently it would be better to just flush the $2 down the toilet. It might make a sanitation workers' day as well.

I really loved the MP in BO3, so I played like 250 hours of it, but that means nearly no achievements at all.
 
random question

I have a bunch of credit and rarely buy stuff for xbox so I'm thinking of using it on some dlc depending on the deals coming up

call of duty world at war zombie dlc

would you recommend any of the zombie maps? the pack bundle or just one specific map pack? which?

I only play single player and this would only be for the zombies. any of them worth it at this point?

I'm grabbing Payday as well so I'll be down to coop that, even though my regular group is anti Overkill. I also own Vermintide (so does Darby, and Blink) so you could join us in that if you grab it, Vermintide is very fun, but if you didn't like Left 4 Dead I'm not sure how anyone would like it

I've beaten both HR and MD and would say the shooting improved a lot on MD over HR. Going guns blazing isn't the easiest option, but now it's at least a viable option in the game.
 
I knew I played a lot more XBox this year (got mine in March).  Didn't think I had earned that much gamer score but I guess it is right as I was just under 15K before I got it I think.  
 
Most played game by far was Borderlands 2.  Got all the achievements on the main game.  Still have to finish up the DLC.  Never even installed TPS.  Playing that twice on PS3/PS4 is more then enough for me.

Seeing as how everyone is posting all the stats I gotta get in with all of mine:

Gamerscore earned in 2016: 75,644

2016 most played game: Rainbow Six Siege

2015 most played game: State of Decay(? this can't be right but maybe)

They list the community average for hours on xbox live, I wish they listed mine. Mine must be absurd because I have no cable and I use it for Netflix, Hulu and lots of gaming.
