I've never had a controller break and I use the same one. I've used my Xbox one controller for years as well as my PS4 one. I really don't know what people do with by their controllers that they break them. Not once have I had to replace a controller because I broke it.

The standard X1 controller feels great, even better with the rubberized grips the Forza Controller and others have, but once you use the Elite there's no going back. I would suggest anyone who considers gaming their main hobby to get an Elite Controller and join that upper crust life
 
Looks like Andromeda's used price didn't change. Probably a publisher sale, then, which doesn't effect used prices. Oh well, $20 and zero out of pocket is still far better than I could have hoped.

Regarding all the controller talk, I briefly used one of the originals and thought it was nice, but they feel cheap in comparison to the One S controllers IMHO. I've been using mine since... October (?) and definitely logged a few hundreds of hours on it and it still works great. Right trigger gets a little squeaky, but a forum said to blow on the crevice around the trigger and it actually makes it stop, probably just dust getting inside.

Nope, but Pro gets you the extra 10% that it always does, bringing the total to a 70% bonus. I guess that they typically pay so little for trades / make such a big profit that they can afford to do this, especially since it just becomes money credit you'll spend there. They wanna move inventory badly.

Thanks to all who answered for the feedback on the controllers. I'll definitely look into the S ones. The Elite sounds nice but it's a little out of my range right now.
These are the first controllers that have ever given me a major issue. The thumb grips on the 360 controllers turned to crap over time and many hours of use but they still work. Hell, I even have an NES Max controller with a frayed cable that still works! Oh well.
 
Looking back at last year, it is unclear if we will get any standard Monday Date Night deals tonite. July 3 of last year is when they announced the Ultimate Game Sale. I am doubtful.

It's as simple as it sounds. 6+ games at one time gets you a 60% bonus. The register does it automatically, so even if you get an idiot employee who doesn't know what their own promos are, it'll work. You can look up trade values on the website and do the math. There's no minimum value required to meet the promo, either, 2 of the games I traded yesterday were valued at $1, they were just filler.

Planning on picking up a handful of things this sale even though I'm a bit disappointed in it overall.  The Dark Souls III DLC seems like the best deal to me since the Fire Fades edition probably won't get that low even during Black Friday.  So if you own the vanilla edition, I think that's worth it.  I'm contemplating Quantum Break since I've wanted it for quite awhile but I've only seen it get that low once on a Best Buy sale for like a day and then they sold out; I'm still annoyed with myself that I did not pick it up then.

I'm debating about Mafia II, Enslaved and Oxenfree.  Any thoughts on any of those?  Also, does anyone think that the Crackdown games might be bundled with Crackdown 3 like the Gears games were with Gear of War 4?  Is it worth picking those up at this point?  Thanks to anyone in advance with any advice.

Haven't played Oxenfree, but Enslaved was a fun and widely overlooked game and I also enjoyed Mafia II quite a bit. It's been a few years since I played either, so it's hard to offer much more specific advice on them.

As far as the Crackdown games, I imagine those will be like Gears one day and everyone will have gotten them for free one way or another. It's just a matter of if you're willing to wait. Same with Quantum Break, the price will continue dropping. I'd bet it'll be close to or at $10 by next winter. So if you're dying to play it, it's not a bad buy, but if it's going into your backlog, you're best off waiting, like always.

 
Holy Hell I just got $300 in Game Stop credit. They are giving $31 for zoo tycoon.....$46 for plants vs zombies 2, and $38 for grand theft auto 5.....insane

So much GameStop talk it's making my ears bleed.

Does anyone know when the new Overwatch patch comes out that reduces duplicate chances? I'm thinking I should prob start saving my loot boxes up and open them all once that drops...

Walking dead Michonne (the new least favorite)

Never Alone (fun little game for whomever hasnt played it, the cultural insight was a lot of fun)

Bedlam (not good and not funny)

Still have to finish skyrim but the legendary dragon takes forver :/

 
I picked up alot of stuff from the UGS so I don't really need a sale tonight, but I've still got credit and if there's a solid deal or at least a sale on Shantae and the Pirates Curse or A Boy and his Blob, I'll bite.

Right now I'm trying to gather up 6 titles to trade in for some GS credit.  I don't need to do the giant multi-hundred dollar trade deals, just enough to get a ME:A for $20 and enough to cover the $15 Pro membership I"ll need to get 70% extra.

 
Thanks to whoever brought up the trade-in deal with GS.  I had a stack of beaten games and ended up with 230$ in credit.

Overwatch loot boxes are pre-determined the moment you get them, not when you open them, just FYI.

 
I forget how this works, do we get new deals of the sale this week, or just the regular weekly deals today on top of the summer sale?

The original Xbox one controller had a bad design with one of the little pieces of plastic on the bumpers, they can snap just through normal play, just look at the 1000's of youtube vids and posts on how to fix bumpers. Two of my controllers broke one on the left one on the right, never dropped or anything.

yup, I'm going through my collection after I get home and trading a few hundred of dollars worth of stuff just for the bump. Right now I'm torn as to whether I should dump classic stuff like Splattlerhouse 2/3, Contra hardcorps, etc or just hold on to them.

Sorry, that's mostly my fault. GS is a cesspool and I usually avoid it except when there's a big promo like this...

When I trade things, I usually turn it into XBL cash, anyway, so my rare trips to GS indirectly involve this thread. It's also worth discussion IMHO during this sale because of the price comparisons. I was tempted to get ME:A for $30 on XBL, but $20 new is too good to pass up.

In a week, we'll all hate GS again, promise.

 
I kept all my cases and the stuff I want back I am just rebuying with the buy 2 get 1 free deal, its worth it to trade in most stuff right now lol. You can get credit without losing anything.

 
Yeah, it's definitely worth checking into GS while this is going on, just avoid the shithole thread. Apparently they do take GameCube games, just not Xbox or PS2. I'm going to do one more pass on my collection and see where I could be. As is I'm sitting with $212 in credit, and it's hard to decide if this should go toward a console or be used to pad out my Xbox games for the year. If I do get a console I need enough extra to get a game or two.

At least you can use it to buy XBL credit directly through the website without going to a store.

 
For the one other person out there still using their XB1 Kinect, Air Guitar Warrior is worth picking up. My six year old son loves shredding on his air guitar while sometimes riding a shark. It's pretty hilarious seeing his enthusiasm for this game.

I would describe it as the results of the Kinect and a horizontal shooter having a musically dysfunctional baby. It's silly, never serious, and it's pretty forgiving with my kid randomly throwing his arms all around. Beating a boss and getting to do a album cover pose is extremely gratifying for him and entertaining for everyone else in the room watching.

It was worth braving the disaster for this promo, though. Once I take my second round trip tonight, my X1X is going to be paid for with plenty to spare...

I took advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free on all used items and got 2 galaxy s7 edges withs a free psvr lol. I am frantically looking for more to trade in so that I can get an xbox one x paid for.

 
Ah, decided to go to GS myself. Looks like I'll be able to easily go digital after bonuses so, why not?
