So I know I'm about 2 days late on the GWG discussion, but I bought The Turing Test during it's last sale so you are all welcome. I really enjoyed it for the space bucks I paid for it. The Portal-esque puzzles and AI theme were very entertaining for me. I felt compelled to watch Ex Machina again after finishing the game.

I understand that...that's exactly what I meant when I told Brannigan I'm going to be "more professional". You can cut out his name and put your own if it makes you feel better. I meant what I said to Brannigan about feeling bad if you were thinking that was a joke too. You get bonus points for that visualization btw.

 
Two disappointments in one night.

I can't use the 10.00 amazon code.

The universal pinball tables don't have the real voices ( I can live with this) or the real music. I was looking forward to playing those tables and hearing those classic themes. Bummer.

In the US at least, Bing Rewards was renamed Microsoft Rewards. This was the Rewards program that gave you points for making Bing searches and browsing using the Edge browser, and you could redeem points for stuff like Xbox Live time, skype/musicpass credit, stuff like that.

There's also the separate program called Xbox Live Rewards, which was the one that gave you points for taking surveys and buying games and movies during their "SciFi Month/Shooter Month" promotions, and the points were converted to currency, which was autodeposited in your xbox account.

And now that I looked up something, it looks like they axed Xbox Live Rewards in Australia some months ago, and just rolled it into MS rewards. (So, they moved your points over, and you just had to choose from the new rewards store).

Personally, I'd be happy if they did that for the US. Xbox Live Rewards has been pathetic for a long time. It used to be good when they gave you a percentage-back rebate after spending some amount of money, but now you have to spend at least $300 BEFORE the rebate kicks in. No thanks.

Ah, that sounds interesting.

I agree, Xbox Live Rewards used to be much better, even just a couple years ago. Back when it first started (when we still had Microsoft funny money), I got a rebate on everything I bought from the store (I think there was a minimum but it was low), doing the monthly surveys, renewing Gold membership and some other random stuff. Then slowly it got worse to the point where, for almost the past year, I've gotten my reward points doing the monthly survey. There's no way I would spend $300+ to get 2% back each year.

Are you going to immediately play it or really play it at all? Do you need an extra fancy paperweight or door stop? Does buying and adding games to your backlog fill the emptiness of your soul? If you answered yes to one or all of these than yes.

Still no code for Cuphead from Newegg, but looking at Xbox.com, I guess it won’t be available until 9 a.m. tomorrow?

Is anyone who ordered it directly from MS able to play it now?

But yes it would get a fair bit of use at my girlfriend's place. She's a gamer at heart, still plays her PS2.

I'd say go for it than. Non 3D games tend to age pretty well, especially side scrollers and platformers, and it has a great selection of RPG's as well. If you got the time and money, really why the fuck not.

 
I play board games every Thursday with my in-laws and am usually back home well before midnight. I had no intention of trying to go out for an SNES mini but we ran late tonight so I decided to swing by Walmart and walked right up at around 12:20 with no line and scored two. Really surprised.

It wasn't anything personal, and I mostly think that whole famly is a joke. It's hard to read tone and sarcasm in text, especially when there's only a couple lines to go off. There was just something about how it was such a hard stance on calling someone the wrong name.

I say Bruce Jenner, when I'm talking about the Olympic athlete that won men's trophies. If she wants to be Caitlyn now, and not even spell that dopey name right, wtf do I care? I honestly hardly ever have occasion to mention either of them.


Anyways, I hope you don't take it personal. I get worked up easy and I'm generally just a little, tiny, barely-even-noticibly, long-winded. I tried to sprinkle some humor in to lighten it up, but I didn't mean to jump down your throat.



So... the first game was Red Dead Revolver. Then the sequel, which *SPOILER ALERT* had a storyline about redemption, was called Red Dead Redemption. Now, the announced prequel is Red Dead Redemption 2? Are we to expect a grand tale of redemption, that sets up the characters we got redemption against in the previous game?

Wtf is wrong with marketing execs? The first two games didn't have all that much to do with each other so maybe this is to signal more continuity between games, but this really stinks of someone chiming in about "brand appeal." It's not like people wouldn't be able to tell it's the new GTA on horses game, what with all the huge displays I'm sure will be everywhere.

Struck out at my closest Walmart Super Center for the SNES Claissic.  They had 25, my place in line was the low 30s.  Damn my old man bowels!  Could've headed out earlier.  If I was 15-20 years younger, I might've trekked to another Super Center or two.

Also forgot to preload FM7, so that's going to be a while.  Wasn't really planning on playing it tonight, was going to try to bump my rewards tier before playing it to get another suit.

Can’t wait to play Cuphead today. I kept trying to play it yesterday. Apparently getting one extra day off work makes me completely lose track of what day it is.

As far as the whole Bruce/Caitlyn thing goes, I just call everyone “buddy”.
 
I want an SNES Mini really badly, but don't have the time to go out this morning for one. If Best Buy or Target has a weekend shipment, I'll get up early for one.

Looking through all the services Amazon has, it's officially overwhelming. I'm torn between getting Cuphead for cheap, another game, or some bluetooth headphones I've been staring at for awhile.

Also, the call-out, apology, civil discussion over the last few pages is one of the reasons I stick around in this thread, as so many gaming forums can also be a cesspool of all the things Frisky listed. Way to go, team.

I know I'm in the minority here, but the more I read about it the less interested I am despite the great scores. I didn't realize they were going old school with the difficulty and I'm at the point in my gaming life where I don't need to feel like I'm really accomplishing something lol. I get that there's a huge audience for that and I respect those that welcome the challenge. As for me, I'll be patiently waiting for Forza 7 so I can enjoy racing in circles with however many assists turned on that I need to compete lol.

Prime includes a limited selection of both music and video. Unlimited music gives you everything amazon has [that's a redundant statement, obviously the name is "unlimited".]. I have prime and amazon is constantly asking me if I want unlimited music (unfortunately there's no unlimited video).

Some video content is available via prime, but there seems to be a sizeable portion that is available from amazon but not included in prime.

It's the constant upsell.

Do you want fries with that?

I just ordered combo 3 and it comes WITH fries.

I was going to get it for sure when it was just a boss rush game. However when they decided to turn it into a full old school platformmer my interest went down. I suck at those types of games. For $10 though I would probably give it a try.

 
It's just gonna be Cuphead, Forza, SNES mini posts all day. It's a test run for black Friday.

Just in case you all do not know, the credit shows up as a $10 discount in the final checkout when you buy something sold directly by Amazon (no third party sellers). There isn't any code or anything like that that shows up in your e-mail.

Thanks for the tip.  However I tried put stuff in my cart yesterday and again today.  No $10 discount.  I went through the steps on my wife's account and will wait a bit and see if it worked for her.

I am 90% sure I had their music service in the past so maybe that is why it didn't work for me.

It's the only game where the characters themselves could contain the puke, I don't see the problem.

Unfortunately circumstances at work don't allow me such luxuries right now, luckily my awesome wife is staying home with them.

My 6 year old tried playing as mugman but says the game is to hard.

I had forgotten that there would be a 60 GB update for Forza 7.  So ridiculous.  Today is the last day of my data cycle and I only have around 40 GBs left so I guess I won't be playing until tomorrow.  #datacaplife
