I have Prime too but not sure I’ll renew. I use it for the other stuff as well.

My biggest issue with Prime as far as games is this very situation. They’re weirdly inconsistent with how it’s apllied. Also was annoyed that they killed the 2 weeks after release thing.

If they had stuck with at least the 2 weeks and were consistent in applying it to all games, then it would be a decent option.

I mean GCU will still beat it with the discount all the time and applied to sales. But Amazon’s flakiness is what is the biggest issue.

Posted in the Best Buy thread as well, but anyone know if that deal with a free game with Xbox One deal starting Friday includes X preorders? Doubt it but I’d be canceling and re-preordering (provided they still are taking them).

Lucky. A kid managed to burn out my door bell. It smelt like smoke for 10 minutes after I took off the cover.

 
Give them kids some candy ya cheap asses. 

Hell give the kids a game out of the backlog. Win win. Kids will love you and you thin the heard a little.

Lol, so here's how I have my door bell:

I have the Ring Video Doorbell wired to where my doorbell was, so when it's pressed, the doorbell will chime from my original box in the house. When you press the button, it has a spinning blue ring that will spin for around 30 seconds or I answer the doorbell on the app. I assume the kid really liked the light because he just held onto the button and after about 10 seconds, the chime sound just stopped and smelled like something was burning inside the box.

Damn kids.

My company provides backend computing services for security / IoT companies, which includes support for doorbell cameras. Last year, trick or treating would've probably caused us all kinds of problems, except our systems never got the data flooding in from the doorbell cameras - the provider's system crashed before the data could be passed to us. Infrastructure was upgraded and prepped for tonight, but there were still people on high alert monitoring things from around 5pm Eastern until around 11:30pm, once trick or treat time was winding down on the West Coast. There were a few high volume scares, but the systems held up. The doorbell camera provider even sent over pizzas.

The next potential scare is this weekend with the DST switch. Things have been pretty smooth the last few switches, but one of the 2015 switches required some quick middle of the night patching because code that was only supposed to apply to one country ended up affecting more than just that one.

Epic needs to fix their stupid account system. Tried to play Fortnite BR and logged into my Epic account that I've used for Paragon and the other versions of Fortnite, but it apparently doesn't work on Xbox One. From looking at their support forums, people figure that it's blocked because they use cross platform save/play between PS4/PC, though I don't see why that prevents the Xbox One version from being playable like it's a new save. I'd have to make a new account just for Xbox One and I'm not doing that.

There's been a lot of little glitchy issues with the account stuff on Xbox One and Fortnite. They have patched it once or twice. Not sure if it's related at all to your issue, though.

 
I'm a new x1 owner. Excited to look forward to two sales every week now. Because I'm a digital hoarder. When and what time do xbox sales go up?
 
With only two months left in 2017, I'm thinking the backlog is going to win again this year.  On the bright side, there have been some great releases that I'm glad to have either played or purchased for the future, and of course the X1X is as good an excuse as any to indulge.

Started off October with Shadow of War.  I finished the main storyline but got burned out part way through the Shadow Wars and decided to trade it in at 88% complete.  Maybe I'll pick it up and complete it someday on the cheap, when all the DLC is out.  I rank it a 7/10 - if you liked Shadow of Mordor this is basically more of the same; the endless spawn of random orcs during battle really hurt my enjoyment though.

Ended up playing over 20 hours of Cities: Skylines due to the free play days.  Game is in dire need of a tutorial, and even a sim builder veteran like myself resorted to online videos and guides constantly.  The funny part is that many of the recommendations online refer to mod resources that aren't even available on X1.  I plan to pick up the Premium edition someday, and hopefully it will include more of the city tiles and building blocks one needs to create a really great city.

Completed South Park: Fractured but Whole; great game.  I give it a 10/10 even though I enjoyed the plot of Stick of Truth better.  Fortunately the X1 code for Stick is included.  These games have me truly laughing out loud which makes them worth every penny.

Assassin's Creed: Origins.  Game is massive.  After a couple days played I can see there's no point rushing this one, since it will take ages to clear everything.  And with Cod:WWII and Battlefront II on the way, I'll have my hands full soon enough.

Great month, and lots more to follow in November.

Welcome. Weekly sales go up every Monday night, around 8pm EST. They are mostly terrible, always a letdown, and usually shitty.

In my anti-Dodger ranting last night, I forgot to mention I saw one kid dressed as Cuphead while I took my kids trick or treating. Based on the mom’s reaction, I was the only one to recognize the costume. I was impress since I know you can’t just go out and buy a giant head like that at the Halloween store.
 
October has been kinda lackluster gameplay wise, but thats mainly due to me watching horror movies and Stranger Things season 2. but:

Do reviews typically hit early for Call of Duty games? Every year I swear I won't bite, but similar to Madden, I always fall victim to the hype at the last minute.

I should probably turn in my gamer card for being the reason the same shit sells so well year after year lol.

Shattered Dimensions was damn fun. Probably my favorite Spidey game thus far.
