Just set up my new Xbox 1X - Surprised at how heavy it is! First thing I’m doing is watching the original Blade Runner U4K blu ray while my games load.
 
Interestingly enough I got an email from Epic Games, says I'm a Builder (Total Piece Placed 2369, Most Used Material Wood, Most Pieces Built in One Game 144). Wonder if the most pieces was on one of my shield defense maps or actually one long horde like defensive nature.

Got an email about a completed MyVIP Perks Challenge, banked 500 gems for being an "Overlord" (Achievement tier thing) - note you have to claim it on the site before it goes into your vault. I see the badges down on the bottom of the site but they have no descriptions. The only place I say descriptions of them was during this month's survey tbh. Yeah also contemplated picking up S7 of Game of Thrones to grab the 5,000 reward credits but again like we talked about it before then that's just locked into Microsoft's entertainment platforms. I'd rather not do that and just get the physical copy come BF, as I'm sure there'll be a deal then for it for sure.

No $5 email though lol.

 
Anyone else playing super lucky on an og Xbox one have the game work ok for a little bit then the sound disappears and few minutes later it crashes to the dash?

Know this is silly but I wish the X1X had some kind of indicator to show when it’s in 4K. I can tell on my TV when something is HDR. But not sure how to check if it’s actually outputting in 4K.
 
Damn reading like 20+ people on reddit and a few people on resetera have broken XBox X. Hope it's still within the 3% failure rate and going to be overblown.

I registered mine on the site and look like the warranty is 15 months?

Were they DOA? I’d look at Reddit but don’t want to read any horror stories and get paranoid.
 
My gamepass code with my scorpio edition isn't working. [emoji20]
Anyone else have that issue? It's not saying invalid or anything but it's just giving me a weird error code.

Have tried using the website and redeeming it on the actual xbox.

Also, trying to install Cuphead and it's stuck at 622mb and hasn't moved for over 10 minutes. :/

EDIT: Seems cuphead was downloading. The progress just wasn’t updating in the queue.

Just curious if anyone is still playing Destiny 2. All but two of my clan have just about dropped it entirely. I hopped on because of the faction rally exploit today, and was reminded why I stopped too. In ONE hour of grinding out the 400 tokens for maxing out a faction, I completed what took probably 10-15 hours during the last one, and upon turning in for my rewards I didn't even manage to get a full set of armor. There are more reasons I'm not playing, but I think this one alone is pretty big.

I don't think I'll be buying the DLC, unless I get a bunch of credit during the holidays or something, and I stuck with Destiny 1 on and off for its entire lifespan.

I still play the game typically every day (barring something that keeps me away). I'm in whole hog and enjoying the game.

Side note - Bungie has said that for Season 2 and beyond they are going to change up how Iron Banner packages work. They will let you buy specific gear for IB tokens and Legendary Shards. I have a feeling that the Faction Rally loot will be handled in the same way.

Not sure but I’d recommend AC: Origins. It’s been the most impressive visually from everything I’ve played so far.

Any Overwatch players around? Just wondering about the character clipping issues I’ve noticed a lot recently. The lady and I are running on VHS XB1s and at the start of a match and during POTG the character models take forever to load and it looks ridiculous. Wasn’t sure if this was an OW issue or an aging hardware issue.

Zombies has a big learning curve. You have to moving forward and make sure the path ahead of you clear. Standing and guarding a window is not usually recommended once you have the map open. My highest round on Kino is 152 if you need some help, and I can show you all the tricks on the map. Even where the bathroom break spot is.

 
Gave in and quickly scrolled through the reddit thread on failures. Sounds like most of them died quickly and most were the Scorpio editions. Since I’ve had it on for at least 10 hours including transfers and have the normal version, hope I’m safe.

That said there’s always going to be duds with any new console launch.

Sounds like a lot of them were play for a few hours and just turns off to a black screen. in the middle of the game. No response afterwards.

My pro tip is make sure your console warm. Those things are frozen coming out of UPS/FEDEX. Mine was really gold when I put it out and I should have waited a bit before turning it on as well.

That's a good idea. Thankfully mine was in GS for the past few days, so it was normal temp, but definitely let it warm up if you got it in the mail.

 
I watched something alittle interesting that might tie in with the faulty xb1x. I watched a YouTuber who opened his scorpio Edition and when he took off the heatsink the thermal paste was already dry and he scrapped it off and reapplied new paste.

I saw the video you were talking about. Could be a issue but I would think with the great cooling feature it wouldn't be a issue if the console was working right of course.

Anyways worst case scenario is you got 15 months for the exchange not to mention, at least where i live, about 20 mins away from a MS store. So I can do my exchange there. Worst thing would be losing the project scorpio console and getting a standard one. Every console launch has busts and undoubtedly this is the biggest sale night for the X since it won't be discounted on black friday. If not much more reports come up over the coming weeks I think people will be fine. Curious if we get any CAGs with a busted one.

 
Neverwinter is actually playable now! Seems like a much, much, much better frame rate outside of the occasional issues where the towns get really crowded. X's power brute forced the hell out of this title.

Games that I got to get back on that crazy frame rates/unlocked: GTAIV (wonder if it will hit 60?), Mass Effect 1 frame rate sucked and I know The Condemned was unlocked.

Playing Shadow of War for the first time. Gorgeous. Still may give the edge to AC: Origins as the best looking X game but it’s close.

I guess we'll see. The problem there is that we're likely to get locked out of almost everything if we choose not to buy the expansions. I'd guess faction rallies might still be ok, but Iron Banner and Trials are probably not. Hard to say if we'll even see season 2 before the Osiris expansion.

I been having this problem on my VHS XB1. Not sure if uninstalling/reinstalling would help. It got to this state after deathmatch was released from what I remember (edit: i've always noticed model loading issues in this game in general).

first day with the X... played NBA jam (somehow feels more blurry? might be TV settings etc) and Sands of Time (looked clean, but the animations and camera felt dated at times, didn't stop me from putting a couple hours into it though)

everything else (larger) is still downloading...

Had these issues with my One S. Haven't played enough of it on my X yet to see if the issues are still there.

Also good luck and congrats and all to those who got the X. I don’t have anything 4K yet so it’s not in my near future but I’m glad those that can appreciate it are getting their money’s worth.

Played a bit of Super Lucky’s Tale. It’s really not as bad as some reviews make it out to be. I’d say it’s actually pretty good. Certainly better than Yooka Laylee.

I don't think I'll be buying the DLC, unless I get a bunch of credit during the holidays or something, and I stuck with Destiny 1 on and off for its entire lifespan.

Xbox one x is slightly shorter than a ps2 fat confirmed. Has complete opposite design though. What's very interesting is the 2 USB ports on the ps2 line up exactly where the USB port is on the one x. Line em up vertical side by side and they actually blend in together very well.
