I want to get Fable Anniversary but I'm thinking it may go GwG now that it's finally discounted to $10 just to piss everyone off who buys it at that price. Of course we can say this about any game we want to buy.

I thought Justice League was good for a first movie. I wasn't expecting much from hearing it was getting bad reviews.

I saw it today with the kids and we loved it. I guess not going in with a critical eye helps. We go into to enjoy.

I was on the fence about season 2 of Batman at $14 but decided to go for it after looking at the first season on storeparser. If it follows the same trend it will take another 6 months to drop $4 or 11 months to drop $6.50 and I'm not that patient.

So I didn't the free $5 or $10 but I did get a new copy of Doom and Agents of Mayhem. At least they look new since there were no scratches or blemishes on each one.

 
Just in case anyone's as dumb as me, the discount only shows on the Fable Anniversary game if you click on the button that lists it for $40.

Does the Fable Anniversary BC edition give you a way to buy the DLC? (Still new to the Xbox ecosystem)

Hey, its like you're speaking directly to me - The CAG Elder Scrolls Online guy!

Each DLC pack is aimed at a unique audience:

* The Imperial City DLC (the first pack) is essentially Player vs Player in a much tight space than the main PvP area of Cyrodiil. There are also some light PvE elements to it, so it can become PvPvE. This pack can be fun if playing with a group, otherwise your chances of getting ganked are high by a trash mob...and some of the PvE bosses are tough to solo anyway. Its okay, but mostly dead - and the player has to manually travel from Cyrodiil to the Imperial City just to get there.

* The Orsinium DLC (the second pack) is currently on sale at 750 crowns due to its 2-year anniversary. This is all about PvE. Its more of the same from the base game, but I think its generally better. A comparison would be something like the Morrowind expansion, only instead of being 30 hours of content, its 20 hours. I enjoyed this a lot; I got all the collectibles. I go there sometimes to do Dailies - boss battles and dungeon delves. Again, its more of the same...but at least its good.

* The Thieves Guild DLC (the third pack) is PvE that adds the iconic faction to the game. For me, the best part of this pack is the skill line - as it adds things that make thievery a bit more interesting, and likely to succeed. The landmass is small and the questline is boring. But I find it oddly sporting to do the repeatable quests.; once I start robbing everyone in a city...its hard to stop at 10 people...so I just keep going until the guards take notice.

* The Dark Brotherhood DLC (the fourth pack) is PvE. I thought the questline was much better than the Thieves Guild and the Blade of Woe is an utterly imperative aspect of ESO for the way I play: one-shot killing NPCs that bug me after they turn their back to me never gets old. Beyond the Blade of Woe, though, its skill line is probably less useful.

* There are two 4-player Dungeon packs. I would advice against buying these before buying the other content as each pack is just two dungeons....and they are some of the harder dungeons in the game, at that.

* Clockwork City DLC is new. I have no experience with this, besides wandering around the landmass and getting skyshards. I've heard people say they really like the questline and its characters. And the landmass allows you to transmute your traits - provided you do a whole lot of grinding for crystals.

Side note: I was a bit disappointed that there was no sale on Crowns going on now on the Xbox store; maybe that will happen next week. 5500 Crowns would get you the combined pack of Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood.

 
Thanks for the ESO info, played for a few hours today and it feels pretty overwhelming with all the different skills and mechanics, also I think I started in morrowind but am not sure how the game is supposed to start

 
Know it’s not a great deal at only 25% off, but thoughts on Mages of Mystralia? It always looked like something I’d like.
 
Count me in as another who hasn't got any free money from MS. They did send me a message last month saying I was eligible for a free month of live. When I clicked the link they tried to charge me 9.99. Seems shady to me.

Got an email about that. I like it but am worried about its long term viability so not going to fork out for a whole year at this point.

Sadly, I haven’t used it as much as I’d like — about twice a month, which still is cheaper than going just once.

Ah, so you're new! Welcome! if you got the Morrowind version - you're right where you're supposed to be. Take your time and enjoy it. You can head to any other region on the map when you're ready, or just hang around Vvardenfell (Morrowind) for a long while.

In fact, I wouldn't worry too much about what pack to spend Crowns on. As I said, Orsinium is on sale for a limited time - and its was probably my favorite pack - but basically once you experience it, you're done (unless you're a long-time player that does the Maelstrom Arena). And its really just more of the same. ...If you're not sure you're going to be into tight-quarters PvP, then that would eliminate Imperial City...essentially leaving you with either Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood as main options to spend your 2000 crowns. ...Or maybe you'll find you enjoy ESO, and maybe Crowns will go on sale next week, and maybe you'll just buy another 3500 to get to 5500 to get Imperial City / Orsinium / Thieves Guild / Dark Brotherhood.

But you'll probably get a better idea of what DLC pack to buy just by seeing what kind of character you want to be. Want incentives to do stealth? Do the Thieves Guild for the skill line. Want to sneak around killing people? Do the Dark Brotherhood for the Blade of Woe. Found a guild and want to get into PvP? Maybe get the Imperial City DLC. Or maybe you'll really enjoy Morrowind and feel like spending 750 Crowns for Orsinium is a really good bargain (because it is - but that wouldn't leave you with enough money for other packs).

 
Haven't bought anything yet. It's a big sale. I just don't have anything I really want. I'll likely pick up Mafia III, just because I kept the season pass out of the deluxe edition from Target before I sold the game, so I may as well own the game digitally.

I just have so many digital games in the backlog already that I'll likely never play that I just can't get excited about buying more shit.

I was going to buy a PS4 from GS on BF, but now I'm not even sure I'll do that. I'm only really wanting to play HZD and Uncharted 4. That's not much gaming for buying an entire console...

I’m on the same boat. I’ve been active in playing games because of the Goals like the game pass goals and gold goals where you play selected games to get a mystery reward. The game pass goal is pretty easy this month, play a retro game for 10hrs to get the best reward, the least is only like 5hrs I think. I’ll only do the goal if it’s easy. Without these goals, I haven’t had an urge to try to cut down my Xbox One digital game backlog.

I almost bit on a PS4 Slim CoD WWII edition because it was only $220 at AAFES military online store during Veterans Day sale. But I ended up getting an 2017 iPad 9.7 instead lol. I figured the iPad would get more use because I watch things more, browse and do simple edits for photos/vids using my iPhone 5s so I wanted a bigger more powerful iDevice that’s in my budget.

Just like last gen, I also had backlog for my PS3 since I played on the 360 more. I still have BF unopened PS3 games lol. I guess I’ll just focus on the Xbox One and get the X down the line if anything. With game sharing and the year worth of game pass I got free at Xbox Fanfest, and GwG games and getting free Xbox money on Bing, I’m pretty much set. I’m thinking about getting EA Access too, we’ll see. There’s a PS4 Slim 1TB and a Uncharted bundle at the NEX or Navy Exchange military store for $179 for BF. It’s pretty tempting but I dunno.

I'd say so. Overall the game is bad but if you like Duke 3D you'll probably at least like the opening few levels. The game did feel dated when it came out, I can't even imagine how dated it feels now. As a whole it will probably depend on if you think Duke himself is funny, personally I think they played him too straight for how much of a relic the character actually is.

About half-way through they clearly ran out of idea so it becomes pretty mediocre. PC version is better if you have the option for the fact that they removed the two weapon limit alone. At the very least, you could pay the $2 and really make Wolfenstein or Doom look even better since they're both miles and miles ahead as far as rebooted classic FPS series are, or even Duke's contemporary, Shadow Warrior.

I wish Duke 3D World Tour was like $5 or something, that'd be a higher recommendation even though I haven't played it yet.

I did not realize Anniversary even had DLC, that's pretty bullshit.

But yeah, any game that becomes BC also brings the DLC to BC. You should be able to still buy off the website, or sometimes through the game itself if it had a menu for it. I think you can even search for it on your Xbone itself either in the store or through the browser and should be able to buy it there too.

If you're totally new to Xbox, I'd look at getting this Trilogy version. It gives you all three games for just $5 more than Anniversary alone, and they're all BC. If you already played them before then feel free to skip, as this doesn't include any bonuses.

Man, I'm addicted to Battlefront 2's multiplayer, it's a blast! As for the FF15 talk, it's fun, it's not a great Final Fantasy game, there are problems like the summon system being garbage and the side quests, I enjoyed it until I started doing all the side quests that pretty much made me start hating it, I would say do the main story and then like the dungeons and SOME side stuff and you'd probably enjoy it more.

Still doing some X testing. Played the original Mirror’s Edge and holy crap does it look amazing. Think it looks better than some Xbox One games. Simply incredible that they did that for the X.

I bought it during a previous sale, because the premise looked really unique and seemed like it had so much potential.

I had actually been waiting for it to go on sale; watching for it every single week, so I was pretty hyped.

Overall, I would say it was a decent game. Not nearly as creative as I expected. Without spoiling too much, you play as a dude who is trying to prevent murders. The entire game takes place in one in-game "day," and the day repeats over and over, Groundhog's Day style. You take what you've learned in previous days to make better decisions in future days.

The game had so much potential to be so creative. But, honestly, even though I played the game only a couple months ago, I am finding it hard to remember any of the "solutions." The groundhogs day style of gameplay is almost wasted considering how tame the puzzle-solving is. I wont spoil any unless you really want me to.

Couple things that need special mention:

1. Your character moves so slowly. There is no "run" button. You trot along at what I would describe as "old man speed." It is frustratingly slow.

2. Going from one room to the next brought the game to a screeching halt. Every time I switched rooms, it lagged for 5 or so seconds. This game is not what I would call a graphical powerhouse, so I have no idea how it performed so poorly. Couple that with the incredibly slow movement speed, and the task of moving from one side of the casino to the other often made me groan.

I dont regret the purchase; I like supporting indie games, and I got it on sale. But it is largely forgettable and I would grant it a 7 out of 10.
