I missed a challenge once because I completed a championship 1 minute after it expired.

I usually use the race challenges to progress through the championships, since I'll pick something that qualifies for one of the "Horizon presents" championships I haven't done yet. I did a Modern Super Car championship in a BMW for 3 races, but then since it was getting close to 3, I blueprinted a 1 lap race for the other 2. For the current race one, I started one of the buggy championships, did one race for the challenge, still need 2 others.

I'm still on day 7 of the TA challenge. Got one in Raiden V, then FH1 and FH2. Going to get one in FH3, then planning on FM5, FM6 and FM7. Was planning to have day 7 be all Forza, but completing the story in Raiden V popped more achievements than I was expecting.

For those who play Gears often, is it normal for core matchmaking to take 2-3 minutes or longer? I was playing last night about 11pm CT and it would take that long even for Team Deathmatch. Tried some other match types and it was taking so long I just went back to Deathmatch.

I get what you're saying and people do like to argue worst case scenarios or slippery slopes. In this case, though, I haven't seen anyone give a sound argument in favor of net neutrality being repealed. As I was saying earlier, maybe I just don't trust corporations as much as other people do. Call me crazy if I don't think they want to do what's right for consumers out of the kindness of their hearts.

While that would normally make sense, there are many areas of the country where ISPs have no real competition. This is not as simple as going to Target instead of Walmart.

I just saw it today and enjoyed it. I won't tell you whether you should like it or not, but given your comment I have to ask, what does a movie have to do to qualify as Star Wars?
Besides, you know, light sabers, Jedi, the Force, space battles, Skywalkers, dead Jedi appearing in ghost form, etc.

Admittedly, if you don't have the information on the topic at hand, then either 1) research it or 2) you're going to be misinformed and you're going to be making uneducated statements. This is the reason people aren't giving stock market tips to strangers they come across in public. Unless you're a stockbroker or somewhat follow the industry that you work in (stock market), then yeah you're not going to tell someone you need to buy this, sell that because that's what's going down (Bitcoin excluded here). The main thing about what was passed was the regulations - which happens to be a 330+ page document - that Obama added onto Net Neutrality was repealed. Net Neutrality is still present, it's basically "rolled back" to before Obama added the bloatware onto it back in 2015. Yet when someone talks about NN they talk like we just ignited the whole blueprint for "the internet". No, Net Neutrality is not gone and shady stuff was still happening after those were enacted onto NN - so it's there's no doubt shady stuff will not cease either (more on that below). Like the "Affordable Healthcare Act", it was a bloated mess basically. It's a bit more complicated than that, and internet is more than just a US thing anyways, but that's the gest. In layman's terms it's less targeted towards the government regulating the internet and more so on the basis that a free market will take effect and enact regulations based off consumer's needs/fulfillment. In markets that have no competition now, the need for a comparable internet service could generate areas for companies to expand as well. That would be nice as a lot of rural areas are still areas of new growth with little to no competition at the moment. Of course, we can't tell the future, esp the fear mongering doomsday picture social media likes to spread about "repealing NN" (again like I said it was that 330+ page document Obama added on) so we'll have to wait and see.

But that's not all, now states are suing over the ruling. Lol, jesus.

 
Saw The Last Jedi earlier and liked it.  Surprised to see a 56% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes (it's certified fresh from critics at 93%).

Back to the backlog. I made it to a boss battle with eels on Ninja Gaiden Black. Those guys are jerks.

There is no consumer backlash when they've a monopoly, becasue we've no choice. Want an example? Right now we've the most expensive rates and the slowest speeds in the entire modern world. Where's the consumer backlash? Whatcha going to do? Stop using the internet? ...lol. Naivety.

The Shape of Water isn’t even playing by me yet. Probably see SW this weekend and hopefully next weekend Water will make it here.

The Last Jedi is hogging a ton of screens.

Did catch Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri last weekend. Good movie and surprisingly funny.

I'm a big Star Wars fan too but I feel like Star Wars at this point of, hey-you-remember-that-thing-you-enjoyed-when-you-were-young-and-now-you're-all-grown-up-and-want-to-share-that-love-with-your-kids... Found Ep. 7 to be very formulaic and very much felt like a reshoot of Ep. 4. That and don't really have a ton of hype to see Ep 8, esp if they're going to be making it for everybody to enjoy (a problem with some Disney properties now). If they're going to make Ep 8 to be like Ep 5 then I'll just wait for the Blu-ray to release.

Working on D7 challenge, getting achievos from different games. Playing a bunch of my backlog for this one. I started Trials of the Blood Dragon - popped On Deadly Ground from the start, fairly easy to get- and lol, def revisiting that one after this challenge. Thought I'd start Aqua Kitty UDX and got an achievo with it being a 10g one. Ohh dang, oh well (later challenge is getting those). Realized the DLC I had for the other Trials game, Trials Fusion, were gone. They might not have transferred over when I changed to a larger capacity HDD. So after I redownloaded those I decided to tackle The Bike is Your Hula Hoop. Turns out the FX track on Fault One Zero suspends you at the end so you can get a pretty good score in one jump if you've got the multipliers up there. Man, that was tough and I still noticed I cannot for the life of me finish the Extreme tracks on the DLC lol. Those, along with the one I got in FM7 (Moonlighting) & Microsoft Sudoku (Good Memory) means I need 2 more!

Now that it's been out for a bit, is the Xbox One X significantly better if you have an original fatty Xbox and plan on just using it on a 1080p tv? We use it so much every day I've been debating snagging one.

It just came out on AMC this weekend (meaning Shape of Water) so there maybe time. Also I barely know anything about Three Billboards, but I've been seeing it on alot of people's top 10 lists so now I'm intrigued.

I seem pretty inefficient regarding GS/Hour compared to some of the numbers others have shared. But considering that in the 6 weeks since this ended I scored another 3000 GS (50% of what I scored in the first 10 months) I think I'm improving.

Some of that boost is due to TA's 12 Days of Christmas. I'm almost done I need 4 more for Day 12 - Leap Frog.

Also, in case it hasn't been mentioned before, Hitman Christmas Pack is free on XBL.

Really want to jump on this to support JRPGS. Luckily the sale lasts till January so I can see what we get out of the countdown sales.

If anyone has slight interest in God of War, Marlow Briggs is pretty damn fun clone. It's also pretty short at 6-7 hours so it will get out of your backlog fast. Also, any achievement you get is automatically rare. Kinda shocked me considering the study make $40+ million off their $5 million budget after the game was released. They also haven't made a new game since It's release.

Not a big surprise to see the "fan" backlash, I don't think the right decisions were made and now if you strike Disney down it really is all powerful.

 
think Im finally finished with the 12th day of TA christmas, just needed to wait to get scanned in, defense grid 2 and cobalt where the real MVPs for me

I guess Xbox doesn't log the PC play time on play anywhere games, otherwise Horizon 3 would be #1 by far

Haven’t gotten far enough to know but can you also win with no kills (ie., last other remaining player dies outside the final zone)?

you totally could, and probably happens a lot the way the decreasing circle works. I've been in lots of "standoffs" where the final circle is going to go my way or not, part of the simple glorious RNG of that game

Maybe sell Far Cry Primal for below $20 digital this Christmas? I'm so conflicted on this game and it has nothing at all to do with politics. I think Far Cry 3 and even 4 are best in genre at what they do, even if you hate the "stories" they just had a ton of world in them. I think they threw a lot of that into the new Assassin's Creed Origins, at times it feels a lot more like a Far Cry game then any of the previous ones. I have to say I'm getting burnt out on it cleaning up the achievements. There is only so many times you want to Kill the Captain and Loot the Treasure. Will be hard to hype myself off for another locations run in Far Cry 5.

 
I have to agree with that somewhat on FC5. If I were a completionist, I wouldn’t want to grind those games. I’m not, though, so I can’t wait for FC5. Those have become my favorite group of games, even though o had never played one until FC4. Loved 4 and loved Primal. They’re so much damn fun.

You can tell my seven year old plays xbox. He plays Minecraft by himself and we play the LEGO games together. Also shows how scattershot my gaming has been that his games are in the top 5.

By comparison, for the year-to-date numbers from TA have me at 659 achievements and 12,665 GS.

As for Star Wars, Disney lost me with TFA. Kylo Ren made whiny Anakin from Attack of the Clones look macho. I’m still mad over who he killed. How does Rey go from finding out she’s in tune with the force to mind tricking stormtroopers in a day, when it took Luke years to be able just to pull his lightsaber? Then again, JJ Abrams pulled off the amazing feat of ruining both Star Wars and Star Trek, so I guess it’s got that going for it.

Saw Star Wars. It’s good!

It was “spoiled” for me in the HQ trivia chat, of all things. I think I’ve turned a corner on spoilers in that it just made me want to see the movie more to see how it all happened.

Not sure about the disparity between Rotten Tomatoes certified fresh and the bad User scores. Weird.
