Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

So I was a little nervous using $20 in credit on Cars 3, but its actually a pretty fun couch multiplayer racer. Obviously it's no Mario Kart, but I would argue that it may be one of the better kart games on the One
I can't even think of another Kart racer on the Xbox One that isn't a $10 indie title.

So I have to do 2 full runs then. Hopefully I can get a decent group of randoms.
If you're lucky. It's random which one you get, so you could get the same card a number of times in a row. The first time they distributed Midnight Omen skins during a Horde event, there were 3 available. I don't remember how many runs it took me, but it was at least 6 to get all 3, and there were topics on the official forums where people had done more than 10 runs and were still missing a card. And at the beginning of that first event, you weren't even guaranteed one of the cards. There was enough of an uproar on their forums that they switched it to guaranteed. The RNG is why they switched to only having 2 available at a time.

Alright so randomly generated I got :
1st. Blade3d send me over your GT and which game you would like
2nd. Barrysowders send me over your gt cause you're getting whatever is left

Thanks for playing, and may the force be forever in your favor

Thanks for continuing to do this for everyone here. I'll send you a pm ☺️

I am thinking about getting Necropolis. Sounds interesting to me. I only plan to play it solo. Recommendations?

Just edited my last post to say I redeeed one also. Well, at least everyone knows it's coming, so get the codes while you can.
God FAQing Dammit, this really looks likes the end of the gravy train. I'm cashing out all my accounts asap, sucks that I can't get free Live anymore, but it was a fun 6 year ride.

Ack, got the 4k update for Doom, realize I probably have to start the game over. My save is just after fighting the second cyberdemon, and my skills have faded since I last played.

Next Sunday I'll give away a $10 spacebuck, following up on my idea from before. Sadly, there won't be a way for anyone to root for since I don't think there will be a way to match up people with competitors beforehand. I will make a post Sunday 4/8 afternoon saying "like this post", the list of people will be matched with a list of Andre the Giant Battle Royal participants from a site TBD (likely Cageside Seats) with the winner getting the prize.

Awesome of you to do that and it will actually give me a reason to care about the battle Royal since it's a filler. I avoid all social media and wrestling sites for the week leading to mania because I don't want anything spoiled. But I really think big Cass is coming back and is going to win it.

Thanks again for doing this, I'll be looking for it next Sunday

It seems like the 360 version of Contrast goes on sale quite regularly but the Xbox One version hardly does.  Anyone have any idea if there is really a big difference between the two?

I've been interested in this game for a long time but by most accounts the devs made a mess of the game in their efforts to update it and then abandoned it. Been waiting for $5 for months but they just won't go below $7.50 on it.

Any thoughts on the Risen or Sacred games on 360? Good, bad or don't bother? Thanks for any advice in advance.
I have the two Sacred games that are on sale (not sure how). I haven't played Citadel so I can't judge, but 3 is similar to the Diablo-esque game type except there's no loot in game. The only loot you get is coins.

It's a terrible game.

Sacred 2 was fantastic. One of the best Rpgs on 360. I'm not sure if it held up over the years, but it remains one of my favorite gamerscore completions. I even wrote my fist and only achievement guide for it.

***Question***
Looking for thought and experiences with eneloop batteries for Xbox one controllers. Is anyone getting more than 6 hours of playtime per set of eneloops on a single charge?

***Background***
So I know some people in this thread use and recommend eneloop batteries for Xbox controllers. They are DoD on amazon so I was considering purchasing and have considered purchasing before.

Currently have some energizer rechargeable batteries I use and they last roughly 6 hours which is about what I would expect based on the battery rating of 2100 mAh and an Xbox one controller rating of 480 mA (under the battery cover).

Based in the fact that eneloop AA batteries are rated at 2000 mAh I wouldn't expect them to last any longer under the same usage conditions.

I generally have vibration on and have a headset and chatpad plugged into the controller. Could possibly reduce power consumption at the controller by switch to a wireless headset. I also know that vibration consumes additional power but who wants to shut off that fun.
I don't keep track, but I definitely get more than 6 hours. Honestly not sure though. Doesn't really matter to me though because I only use rechargeables in everything, so I have a large stockpile. As for a charger, PsiScream below links to a good one. I have the next model up with more functions. They are smart chargers, whereas many chargers are dumb chargers that just charge for X hours before stopping, potentially destroying the batteries by overcharging. You can also refresh batteries to help extend their life.

What are people using for a charger? I have 8 AA I bought last year from Amazon for landscape lights. Ended up buying new lights so still have the batteries. The only charger I have (which is MIA) is an old energizer which can do 4 at once but is really old.
See below quote for the less expensive model.

Eneloops are amazing and I've enjoyed using them for years now. They won't charge by plugging in the xbox controller - you'd need Play and Charge for that.

I use this charger which is a terrific all-purpose charger: https://www.amazon.com/Crosse-Technology-BC700-CBP-Battery-Charger/dp/B000RSOV50/ The only feature it's missing is 'battery rescue' for dying/dead batteries that show less than .05 volts. In that case, bridging the terminals with a good battery for 5-10 seconds will often give a defunct battery the kick it needs to register, but I have found that batteries in this situation are dying anyway and I usually just replace/recycle them.

I do get more than 6 hours use in the controller, but if the mAh rating is the same, I wouldn't lay money on the eneloops lasting longer than other brands necessarily. I will say this: eneloops will perform at the top of their rating class at least.
Don't toss those batteries! I've had numerous batteries that drained so low they don't register, but sticking them in my dumb charger for a minute brings them up enough for the LaCrosse to register them again. None of them have had to be replaced yet, they are all still good. Don't forget to use the refresh function every 6 months to a year, that will help increase the mAh that inevitably drops over time.

I completed the Go West mission last night, I bought Witcher 3 Complete and Minecraft Story Mode Season 1 for $32. I bought a cowboy hat and red dead shirt for my Avatar for $2. I got 6 achievements in Minecraft Story Mode, so now I wait and hope it all clears through and then $15 back. The credits I spent were all from Bing and the movie rewards thing so it just keeps coming back around.

Contrast is one of my favorite games, but besides a boost to achievement points the X1 version has, there graphics weren't that huge of a difference. 360 Arcade version looks good and has no problems running.

Code from T-Mobile Tuesday for free MLB.tv subscription for the year, fine print says requires cellular connection for redemption, but I don't recall that being the case in years past, so this may be an empty gesture. ?? are initials of the basketball player whose crying face is more popular these days than he is.

#Halo

Remember, you can watch the games through their Xbox app. I gave my parents my old machine so my dad can watch.

Thanks for offering this, I would love to try and redeem this but have no idea where to input the code on the mlb.tv site.

Any thoughts on Necropolis? Didn’t get such hot reviews but looks like the kind of game I’d probably like.

Also didn’t realize that the update for Resident Evil 7 for
Xbox One X enhancements with 4K and HDR came out a few days ago. Have it on PS4 but hmmmm....might have to double dip!

I wonder if the new gamepass games will go up early as well. Need me some Cities Skylines.
I don't have gamepass but I have seen people on Reddit mentions that is already up but you need to search each game you want to download manually.

Unfortunately it's not that easy. The last two years I've gotten in on this deal from a T-mobile user but I had to give them my MLB.TV login info both times and they had to redeem it via their T-mobile account somehow.

Wario64 posted that it’s been delisted...not sure why.
Shows at full price on storeparser. But says not available in your region on xbox store. I thought wario was just talking about ps4, but I guess not.

Edit: You're right. He said it's been delisted from steam, ps4, and xbox. There are still ps3 codes on amazon and uplay has it for pc.

Oh well there goes my pack of gum game for the wild west challenge.

Well what I said earlier was:

My external is pissing me off. Every time I disconnect power completely from the Xbox, it wont recognize the drive and I have to do a whole workaround on the laptop to wipe it and then reconnect it again.

What does this have to do with this thread? Well, I like downloading a bunch of games from game pass that I wont play anyway  :whistle2:
