He's still there in fact he has more power now than ever, but if were honest what "game" has Phil brought to fruition. Don't get me wrong I think he was the right guy at the right time to stop a total disaster from happening. Game Pass is great, BC the way MS is doing it might be my favorite development this generation. It's just frustrating to hear the same look at Minecraft, games as a service, mixer, e-sports, we think there is a place for 20-30 hour AAA single player games look at our ID@xbox partners for that. I dunno.

 
Vote with your wallet I guess, that's why I didn't buy Sea of Thieves, I have no interest in those games built for Mixer. I feel bad for Rare that they aren't allowed to just make good games, they always have to be hamstrung by Kinect or Mixer or whatever Microsofts current pet project is.

Kind of makes me wish Rare was still under Nintendo so at least my Switch could get some good Rare games.

Booty’s outlook was reinforced during his time on Minecraft: “It just drove into me more than ever, that every conversation about what our games, our platforms and our services should be doing has to start with the player. And what we see is players engaging more with streaming, with broadcasting, with community, with wanting to play together.

Recently someone posted in this thread about Sea of Thieves in a gushing manner (not sure if they were sarcastic or not), but I haven't heard anyone talk about the new content that was recently added to the game.

I didn't post it but I have no problem with Sea of Thieves or State of Decay 2 for that matter, I think they are fun experiences. I want them to supplement other games, not be the core vision going forward.

Kinda bummed like everyone at the fact that “games as a service” is becoming the norm. While I played the hell out of Destiny 1, and still play a bunch of Overwatch (meaning I can see where it is good some of the time), I don’t like it as the main source of gaming. I still want my good campaigns and stories. That’s what got me so invested in modern gaming years back.

And on the Taco Bell front, while my fiancé and I don’t share a meet/love story there (we met when I hired her at Walmart), one of the last meals she had before learning that she needed her gallbladder removed was from TB, so for years she blamed them and wouldn’t eat it again, even if I went there. That is, until she stole one of my 5-layer burritos recently, so I think she fell off that wagon.

Yeah, I keep going back and forth on this. On the one hand, I love the ongoing support for games I do enjoy. On the flip side, I want the excitement of something completely new (particularly new stories, campaigns, gameplay ideas). And because I know I'll have the game for quite a while, I don't get as invested in these games as service. For example, every couple of weeks, I'll play a handful of Rainbow 6 Siege games. Back in the day, I used to dedicate time to playing Halo or CoD or Battlefield, day in and day out, before moving on to the next thing. Now I play a handful of Rainbow games, a few Rocket League games, etc., etc. The games don't feel as special to me.

All that is the opposite of me besides play together. As someone with a gamer for a girlfriend, it actually angers me how few games have co-op campaigns, let alone any type of co-op. We don't want to play competitively, we much prefer co-op. But I'm sure co-op isn't exactly what Booty is talking about. I'm sure he's talking about crap like Mixer's share controller feature that allows streams to let people watching their stream play the game.

Yeah, I want more of the games that made me love Xbox in the first place. I tried thinking of what kind of new IP I would want and I'm not sure what that is.

I know Sony points to God of War and Spider-man but I have never really liked the old God of War games and the old Spider-man games were okay... so I dunno, it doesn't make me run out to buy a PS4. Horizon Zero Dawn looked cool but I'm not sure I want to buy a PS4 for one game, I have to much to play on my Xbox and Switch. Red Dead, Forza Horizon 4, Smash Bros and a new Halo would keep me busy all fall so I really can't complain for much more.

If you love Spider-Man games and God of War more power to you, not here to bash or anything, just my personal preferences. It's hard to convince my wife we need a PS4 when she turns on the Xbox One and I have 350 installed games that I have played 20 of.

I also want Halo 6, Gears 5 , Fable 4 and Joanna Dark (Sunset Overdrive 2 is not happening and I've never played a Forza game) as well as new IP. There's nothing wrong with wanting "more of the same". Hell, Nintendo is believed to announce the 783rd Smash Bros. game soon and no one is complaining.

How many people said "Oh come on, ANOTHER God of War???" when it was first announced at E3 2016? Sure, the game reinvigorated the franchise and all, but it was still the fifth God of War game since 2005. Nothing wrong with that either.

Having said that, I don't mind Xbox to keep alive the franchises that define the brand even if they're not considered as "cool" as the ones Sony and Nintendo have. But, I do agree we do need a bit more new IP and for that IP to be treated and reviewed fairly; unlike to what was done to Quantum Break by some critics (won't comment on Sea of Thieves as I personally have not played it yet).

Now new IPs are cool, but I'm fine doing something cool like Jade Empire 2, or Ninja Gaiden Gold......just give us some love.

I've had issues with it not recognizing my wired connection without having to hard reboot it.

I don’t even know anymore. Technically I’m supposed to be in it but never seem to get all the cool things everyone else gets ahead of time. Know I’m in one of the later rings (if at all).

I don't know if there's a way through xbox but trueachievements probably has it as an option. Would require signing up for an account, which could be a hassle, if you don't already have one.

 
You don't even have to sign up for the account, I don't think, if you go to Main Menu on Trueachievements.com and then Xbox achievements and sort by ratio should bring up this page or just click on this link maybe https://www.trueachievements.com/xbox-achievements.aspx#. Granted there is about 6 pages on my formatting of achievements that no one has ever won, after that got to the crazy high ratio's. It was showing this one as the current highest   https://www.trueachievements.com/a249776/merchant-voyager-achievement  500 merchant alliance voyager missions completed by 1 gamer on the site in Sea of Theives. Billionaire in Prominence Poker has been unlocked by 8 people on the site. 

Btw I can't remember who was talking about their geo wars leader board scores on there the other day but if anyone is on True Achievements a lot and wants to add me my actual xbox gamertag is Bsmittel.

I’ve been having the same issue and it’s very annoying. Good to see it’s hopefully a software issue, hopefully one that gets fixed soon.

People complained that God of War wasn't a real God of War game because it wasn't exactly like the previous games until just before release.

Yup! For at least a couple weeks now.
 
The following games appear to be counting down to 8pm Eastern tomorrow.  If you haven't visited the web store recently, MS changed the look of the pages (including the URLs, "store" isn't part of it anymore, but the site redirects if old URLs are used).  If you load marketplace pages with JavaScript disabled, as my parser script does, there are a bunch of JavaScript function calls with various item metadata, including countdown timers.  The data doesn't show when viewing source in a JavaScript enabled browser, so I guess the data is just processed when the page is drawn and not left over to see.  Hopefully this means countdowns will no longer be limited to EA Access and other currently discounted items, at least until they try to block me.
