Decided to get NFS Rivals, $8 is good deal for it.

oh no way! i thought i had to disable wireless to force install from the disc to speed up installation. i swear i read other people doing the same thing.

I remember enjoying the extra "Seasons of Infamy" missions, the Red Hood story and the Batgirl somewhat. If you are debating between the standard and premium edition, I would just splurge on the premium. I don't care for skins as DLC but I enjoyed playing the game in the Batman Beyond suit and you might see something you like?

A large chunk of it is comprised of skins for the Batmobile and some new race tracks. Unless you care about getting all the achievements, they suck. However, you also get the Season Of Infamy, which was a pretty cool collection of short single player stories, and the Red Hood/Batgirl DLC's. So it's a toss up. I'd say it's worth it.

I randomly decided to go back and finish Arkham Knight a few days ago. After I finished it I realized that the season pass was coincidentally on sale this week, so I bought it. Overall I say it's worth $10 if you enjoyed the main game and don't mind doing more of the same stuff just in different locations/with different characters. And if you liked racing most of the race tracks are pretty good, especially the Batman Returns tracks.

 
One of my favorite things that the arkham season pass opened was the 1950s batman race. It was on a movie set with lots of jumps.

The 1980s tracks were neat as well and played the 80s batman theme while racing. Id say the season pass is worth it.I enjoyed it.

I usually forget to factor that in. I live alone so don't generally get too close to the cap, but on average I use between 400-600 gigs a month. I can't even imagine how fast I may have hit the cap in the past. Back in 2008ish I had 5 roommates, of which 3 others did a lot of gaming.

Looking into how much streaming actually uses, I found this:

PlayStation Now games are always streamed in 720p.

You will use about the same amount of data as you would for streaming video. (Netflix says about 3 gigs an hour.)

Reddit is anecdotally saying somewhere around 2.5 to 3 gigs an hour.

Works out to about 340 to 400 hours of gaming a month if you have a 1 terabyte data cap. But we have to assume at least 1080p, if not 4k, and know that most people are going to have to factor in at least some video streaming alongside it. So yeah, it doesn't seem all that feasible unless the rest of your household are light internet users.

 
I have been playing Just Cause 3 on my XBox One X.  It is actually pretty playable and the load times aren't horrible.  Shame it played like ass on my PS4.  I am about to start the 7th mission in Act 1 so have gotten a decent way into the game.  Occasionally slows down in heavy combat but really doesn't bother me.

I think at least one other person was considering it.  Not sure if it is still on sale but well it will be again in a month or two I am sure.

Perhaps when I get my PS5 or XBox 2  X I will pick up JC4.

So despite earlier claims of not buying the one x i got the itch and more importantly the go ahead from my wife. Traded up yesterday my old vcr, wii, and few 3ds games for a shiny new X. It startedpicking up some updates for games but thought they would be bigger downloads.

I think the only games that have substantially bigger downloads are those with improved textures, like Gears 4. Just rendering at a higher resolution alone doesn't really need new assets aside from the UI.

 
I thought all the downloads would be at least 50 to 100gbs but the few that started last night were around 7 and 20. Not sure if it was really pulling down the 4k patches or not.
 
Yeah like Six min Whistle said not all Xbox One Enhancements are created equal, if they are redoing the textures that's where your going to see your bigger size hit with the bigger sized asset files. That said a lot of stuff can have improved visuals with bumping up the assets that are already there where they were downscaled or running at a dynamic resolution. If you're a fan of Red Dead, I highly recommend checking that one out even though it's a 360 game, the bumped up res and performance is pretty shocking on 4k.

You won't have wait for the next gen of consoles before picking up JC4 unless you just want to. JC4 is coming out December 4th, I decided to pre-order it (the Gold Edition) at GS.

My three sons played a ton of Just Cause 3 on the S and never had any significant issues. There were a few frame rate slowdowns, but not much. One son is replaying it now on the X since he's excited about JC4 news and it looks pretty good to me. I think the criticisms of that game are overblown. I'm sure JC4 will be fine.

They probably patched some of the worst issues because I've been playing it since this spring and I've had no problems with it.

It's not like it's anywhere near something as broken as a Telltales game, and you don't systematically hear about how awful those games run on any given system everytime they're mentionned.

If there's one thing though, is you're much better to wauit till the testing phase of a game has been done before buying it.. which means nowadays, dont buy a game at launch unless you know the devs and publisher are always tight with that stuff.

I bought JC3 at launch and it was definitely improved. The slowdowns when there is tons of explosions is still inevitable but definitely playable.

I'm excited for JC4! I will be picking up the Gold Edition because there's not many games I can have as much fun as I do with JC so I have faith this one should be more optimized especially now that they have the One X to develop for

My kids got it for Christmas after launch so it had probably been patched at least once since launch.

Are you saying you don't hear how awful the Telltale games can run? Pretty sure the refrain I've heard over the last 3 years is move to a new engine already.

 
should i trade in my xbox one for the xbox one x at gamestop? i dont have a 4k tv so im wondering if i will be seeing a difference at on anything or if the console have some kind of improvement over my xbox one...thoughts?

you would see improvements but without a 4k tv I don't think it would be worth it

The best way to do it is the best buy deal for a 4k tv and a xbox s

Trade the s and your original in for 250 each for the x and a game. Should be about 480 out of pocket. You get a tv and a x for the same price as an x

Best buy was selling a 4k tv with a xbox s.

Then you trafe in to gamestop for 250 for a s and 200 for a original.

Use gamestop credit to buy a xbox x bundle. This deal was also coming with a game.

Its the gamestop trade-in deal towards an Xbox one x I believe

*edit* The first part of his response was referring to the deal at Best Buy where you buy a 4K tv bundled with an Xbox one. It should be under “My Best Buy offers” when you login to your account. If not it probably shows under the ad or “video game deals” section.

I bought a day or two after launch. It was a HUGE disappointment loved JC2. I couldn't wait for the game to end. So slow to load and lag city. I trade it back pretty quickly. Anytime I died I would pick up my phone or computer and read the Internet while I waited for it to load. Was hoping they would fix it but every time I asked (in a different thread) people said it was still painfully slow.

I don't really buy much at launch anymore but was so looking forward to JC3. Definitely going to wait a good long time on JC4. The last year or so I haven't gamed as much and have FH4 coming out on Game Pass and Spiderman in 2 weeks. Just canceled my Tomb Raid pre-order which I rather pick up over JC4 anyway at this point.

Hope they do better with this release but will wait for several drops for sure.

Just finished Act 1 and it is so much better then it was when it launched.

Will they let you trade 2 systems for the same trade-in deal? I know people were doing this with just the S and then paying the extra $250 for the X, but didn’t realize you could trade both in. I almost did the TV deal anyway and would’ve traded my OG for just the $100 (+GCU) that I would’ve gotten at Best Buy and kept the S, but an almost free X is a damn good deal if you can afford all that.

Traditionally, it's only one console traded in per promotion.
 
Got a new receiver, a Sony STR-DH790, because of a decent deal at Best Buy and had wanted something with Atmos because I also have an Apple TV 4K. Sounds fantastic but I’m pissed because I cannot for the life of me get all the green checks on my X. Had no issues with my Yamaha. I think Sony just wants to fuck with me.

Anyone have this receiver by any chance?

Return it and pick up a Yamaha Aventage series. I almost made the same mistake myself.

No, but as I had a similar experience with my TCL, make sure that you have the right kind of hdmi cable going from your x to your receiver. And make sure the receiver’s port you are using is hdmi 2.2 as well.
 
The x has a function in options to test out the tv, doesn’t it?

I noticed the checking through options wasn’t fully correct then I changed the hdmi input and everything checked out

You talking about the checklist to see if the tv is fully compatible with the X like hdr10? It does if you mean that. It has a huge list of things it requires to get everything out of the X.

Yeah, I have a TCL as well but I’m using all the same exact HDMI cables and settings. Just a different receiver.
 
I can't stream 4k through Vudu or Fandango on my X anymore, now it gives me HDCP 2.2 error. I tweeted Samsung and Xbox support, Samsung responded asking for more info.

Anyone else have this happen recently? Has to have been in a console update is my thinking.
 
I wanted to thank you everyone once again. Today I am retiring from CAG till I can pick up my life. I will join Starsleep in his hiding. Maybe one day I can come back if and the wife get back together or she changes her mind. Right now I've done everything and haven't had any luck. I want to thank you guys again for everything. Now...
