Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Germans only work a 35 hour work week and I think it's against the law to work over 45 in Britain for an extended period.
Exactly the point I was about to bring up. Yesterday I worked 12 hrs and today I'll probably work the same. I literally get home and pass out. Lol

The Krauts and the Brits are beating us in gamerscore this month so far, boys. We're America, we don't lose when it comes to achievements. Step your game up and get to 'cheevin.
I'm up almost 5k this month. I can only compensate for so much dead weight in the US.

Edit: don't be that impressed, I just now found my prize for the FREEdom Play-A-Thon.

Oh - that's what I've been doing wrong. I've just been plowing through the levels and thinking it's impossible for me to get 3 stars. Never thought to grind/farm for money to upgrade everything first. Will give it another shot. Thanks!

Now that I think about it, I think Skyforce (also a GP game) is like this, too (build cash to upgrade and make it easier...).
Indeed. Except Skyforce is in the grind-til-its-not-fun camp of mobile gaming. Bug Butcher is a lot more respectful of your time, and the upgrades (especially to bonus weapons) make the later levels much easier to 3-star, but are still challenging. Perks are good too, especially the one that extends the combo count-down before it resets (from 4 to 6 seconds).

World 3 gives ~$500-800 for 3-stars per level, so spend 15 minutes replaying a level (I think I did level 3-2), upgrade everything, and it's much smoother sailing.

Question for anyone else that owns Ep. 1 of King's Quest digitally and also owns The Compete Collection on disc (and has the disc plugged in to their console).  Are you only able to play the first chapter because you own it digitally and the game ignores the disc in the drive, or do the chapters unlock as you complete the previous chapter?

Since you all are dying to hear on this, I want to confirm that

I still dont have my $25 from buying movies. My spam filter is working fine though, got 2 more new items since yesterday. :)

Did you just receive an email or just find that email? I'm still hoping to get something.
Just found it. It was from 6 days ago. I had previously searched by the subject that was posted earlier in the thread, but to no avail. I was looking for an email regarding a myVIP Perk I got from xbox rewards but instead of finding that I found the email with the playathon rewards.

Is the Tomb Raider Anniversary Game on Demand the same as the DLC for Tomb Raider Legend?
If so, does it also include the Croft Manor bonus level listed in the DLC description?
Weird to have DLC listed but be for another game.
Not certain of the Croft Manor part, but the game is the same and it comes in two separate DLCs. If I remember right, it was the early days of 360 DLC and they put the game out as extra content for Legend first, then the full retail release of Anniversary. I was always angry about it too because I got 1000G in Legend, but it didn’t show up in my “completed” list on 360 because technically Anniversary adds achievements. And I had already gotten most of those on the actually Anniversary disc so had no reason to spend $20 more just to replay the game for more achievements (although I can’t with certainty say that I’ve never done that since then haha).

I chatted with MS Support the other day (you have to get to the right department, which is a PITA in itself).  They told me "up to a week" to deliver the code and that I should check back today.  Which I will do shortly.  Bummer that they still don't have this sorted out.

This is likely to be true since the distribution of gs is likely to be right skewed.
I initially thought this was only for Game Pass. Seeing as it isn't, seems like a good excuse to go on a mindless GS quest. I'm already up 2k while on spring break thanks to some indies, Super Lucky's Tale, and Mega Man LC2.

Look at what just popped up in the Taiwan Game Software Rating Board:

And a new filing with a date of March 6, 2018 also appeared in the Australia Classification Board:

Hell blade release on Xbox of March 8 would be 7 months after Aug 8 release date. Strange amount of time for a timed exclusive.

Holy [emoji90] that's awsome. Already been playing on ps4 and really like Hellblade. Can't wait to replay on x1x.

Hellblade is a fantastic game. Surprised to see it coming to XB1. I thought it was an exclusive — not just a timed exclusive — for PS4.

The sound design especially is brilliant. Definitely a game to play using headphones or a receiver to get the full experience.

Well, the original announcement wording from Ninja Theory back in 2014 was "first to consoles on PS4". Be that as it may, I'm also surprised the game is - potentially - coming less than a year after the PS4/PC release.

I think it's gamepass games count for gamepass quests and everything counts for March's gwg quests. But not 100% sure about that.

If anyone is looking for easy gs you can try some of these:

- #idarb (gamepass & super easy 1000 gs)
- major league baseball 2k6 (xbox 360)
- Rugby 15
- Gone Home
- Oxenfree
- Duck Dynasty
- Unmechanical Extended
- Inside (gamepass)
- Limbo (900/1000 last 100 is tougher) (gamepass)
- The Bridge (gamepass)
- Hue (gamepass)
- Ultratron (gamepass)
- The Bug Butcher (gamepass)
- NBA 2k17 the prelude (f2p but last achievement is borked due to calendar)
- The Swapper (gamepass)
- A King's Tale: Final Fantasy (f2p)
- Abzû
- Telltale games

Remember you can double dip gs if there is an xbox 360 and an Xbox one version of a game.

Feel free to add suggestions.

And you get 2 xbox rewards gems for every 1000 gs you add.

I was going to try for the GTASC bonus for the week that ended this morning - earning 3k GS in the week. I went through Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons XB1 on Saturday (also on Game Pass). Then I checked for other easy completions for Sunday, and The Swapper was listed as a 3-4 hour completion. That isn't quite true. Some people on TA put estimates at 1-2, which is utter BS unless you follow a guide from the get-go. All achievements are missable, in hidden locations you need to find, and taking the time to root out all possibilities will take a while. Once I got a few hours in with about half to 2/3 of the map explored and no achievements, I checked what the deal was.

I've enjoyed what I've played of the game, some of the puzzles have been tricky, and I have had to check online how to get through a couple of rooms. But if you think it's a quick achievement completion while flying blind - don't. I'll continue with the main game normally, but will use guides for the achievements. Unlocked 7 of the 10 so far before I ran into my main game progress point. Only 2 of those 7 involved spots that I was curious about, but didn't fully explore (and one of them I thought the game would come back to at a later point).

Thanks for the extra detail Bloomy. The list I saw estimated The Swapper at 5 - 10 hours. Seems like it may be closer to 10.

I see I'm not the only one that is seeing this. I tired deleting and reinstalling and nothing. Did a hard reset and again nothing. Posted a message on FB and MS FB page as well. I'm like uhh...they need to get this fixed. Laid Back Camp and A Place Further Than The Universe are coming....
It seems to be working again.

Depends on how quickly you can figure out the puzzles. According to TA's time tracking, I'm at 6 hours, 20 minutes. Full walkthroughs on YouTube are around 1 hour, 20 minutes.

Just got another email for the play a thon rewards for $10.So go check them emails.
Looks like I finally got a rock. I haven't got one in six days. I got three $25 on one day, then another day I got some $5 and $10, for a net of $105. I only realized today when I was adding them to a spreadsheet they all must be redeemed by May 24th, and then used within 90 days after that. I was expecting the end of June like all the other promotional credit (and Live) I've received.

Remember you can double dip gs if there is an xbox 360 and an Xbox one version of a game.
Feel free to add suggestions.
And you get 2 xbox rewards gems for every 1000 gs you add.
Where are you guys seeing all this? I didn't see anything on the Xbox rewards page.

This is definitely tempting. I currently have a 40 inch Sony but to upgrade to 4K and HDR for $200+ is not a bad deal.

Finally got my $25 gift card after talking to a human for about 10 minutes and the other 80 minutes being put on hold. I Demand a 1000G achievement for this shit.

So I just finished Gears of War 4, the first one in the series I've ever played. Should I try the original next or Judgment, which I read is a prequel?

If you have gamepass it's in the Gamepass Lounge where they post the monthly gamepass quest. Last month's was play 5/10 hours of mad max. They usually phrase it as riddle. Based on the way is phrased it seems to be for achievements from gamepass games only, I think it's the increase in gs not just the number of achievements knocked out.

If you got to the gwg section on the Xbox UI it seems to be essentially the same thing, but for any game.

Lastly, if you're increasing your gs in general for every 1000 gs you obtain you are awarded 2 myVIP gems in xbox rewards. If you break into a new tier (champion, legend, overlord, etc.) you would get an additional amount of gems based on which tier it is.

Has anyone played that Monster Energy Motocross game? Reviews are not great at all but I'm debating buying a code off someone in the trading forum for a decent price.
