Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

So an interesting thing has happened with Driver: SF. I never owned the game digitally but I had a Uplay Passport I redeemed when I did own the game physically. Well it turns out the game is in my ready to download list. I will update if it is playable without the disk.

Edit: Yep it works.
Just looked in the used copy I picked up and there's a uplay code in there. Web address seems to redirect to uplay pc. Those codes are for almost 10 years ago so I'm guessing they're dead?

Reminder that Far Cry 2 on consoles has a glaring problem with saves. The PC version has quicksave anywhere, consoles only let you save at specific locations. This would be fine, except enemies regenerate constantly and the game is based on survival and limited resources. So enemies respawn and you run low on things, or you spend 45 minutes raiding a compound only to die and lose all your progress.

I remember wanting to love it many years ago, but getting fed up with it.

Gave everyone a number from the like list and randomly chose from google random number picker. And the winner is...... davidhibiki. Pm me your GT and I’ll send it on over. As for everyone else I’ll post something again soon!

And to stick to my sending out retail games that I’m done with, I’m rererereredone playing through new Vegas. If anyone hasn’t played it yetand is willing to send s it along to someone else when they’re done. Lemme know and I’ll send it to you in the next week or so

I recommend getting a golden weapon asap. Easy to find with a guide and they don't break or jam.

Have the Driver disc that I played on my 360 but alas no digital showed up for me. :(

Oh well, happy enough that it’s BC.

Awesome game. I hope someone picks it up but I had to laugh when I read this since the next person will take the rest of the year to play it :)

Sorry this may be a dumb question but, if Xbox has a year of Gold on sale on their store on the console, will Amazon price-match? I'm guessing not because it hasn't been matched yet, but it's worth a shot to ask I guess...

Think I like the kid in the promo video for Soda Drinker Pro better than the game.

FYI the '17 BMW M6 GTLM, twin-turbo V8 race car, is an absolute blast to race in FM7. Enjoying the latest car pack & have been playing FM7, ever since the update finished, for many hours today. Lol, good night.

Another Halo racing suit for Forza 7. First to ask for it gets it, to spare folks from codes getting lurked.

I didn't realize that was a thing, that could make a world of difference.

Is the Far Cry 4 season pass worth it? I'm debating whether I should get the gold version or just get the vanilla version

Most of the DLC missions outside of Valley of the Yeti are forgettable at best. I didn't get the harpoon gun until I had pretty much beaten the game. Valley of the Yeti is pretty good, a bit repetitive, but definitely help extends the Far Cry 4 experience.

Dang, I don’t know if the X1X has anything to do with it, but Far Cry Primal looks amazing. Gorgeous environment and the load times are pretty good too.

This is an interesting, but technical, article on the challenges facing VR: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/16/human_limits_of_vr_and_ar/

A few highlights:

  • Our vision consists of a high resolution fovea in the centre, surrounded by a much more blurry periphery... "All of our fine resolution takes place in the central one degree," [called the fovea].

  • By some estimates, given a field of view of 180 degrees, around 74 gigabytes of visual data are available to us each second, but only around 125 megabytes are ultimately processed.

  • VR gaming is around seven times as computationally expensive compared to a PC monitor, Nvidia has calculated. Not only do you need a screen per eye, doubling the number of pixels served, but VR games need to run at at least 90Hz (frames per second).

  • [Universal eye tracking technology, to save on 'unneeded' rendering, is a critically needed breakthrough.]

  • In theory, in our fovea, we need about 120 pixels per degree of view to match reality... Currently, the best headsets manage about 10 pixels per degree horizontally. Given the need to scale up by a factor of about 10 – on both axes – the increase in resolution required is enormous.

Don't know if this was already mentioned here, but Game Informer is confirming that all the rumors about Playground Games being given the keys to Albion and make Fable 4 are true. However, the game is very early stages of development and is not expected for several years (3 or 4 is my guess). It may not even be released until the potential Xbox One successor comes out.

If true, I wish Phil would at least acknowledge the game's in development without committing to any kind of release window. Sony has done it on multiple occasions, hell, even CDPR did it with Cyberpunk 2077. However, after the Scalebound fiasco (and to a lesser extent, Crackdown 3), he's clearly unwilling to do it.

Wow, even Sony hasn't been ballsy enough to mention something THAT far out...

I mean....why should he acknowledge it's ongoing development? What would that accomplish? You point out that Microsoft's credibility in following-through on long-term reveals has been spotty - so the reaction from the public wouldn't be a universal homerun yet. In fact, I suspect we'd just hear skeptics come out of the woodwork to cry "Scalebound" all over again.

If I were Phil, I wouldn't confirm anything until I knew Playground had this thing well in hand. Its entirely possible Playground will give it a try...and just not be able to put out an internal test product that they and Microsoft like.

Don't get me wrong, I 100% agree with you. Specially with the Scalebound thing, however, with Fable being the other big Xbox franchise alongside Halo, Gears and Forza, it wouldn't hurt announcing it when they know Fable 4 is one game fans have been clamoring ever since like 2010.

And hey, didn't Phil announce Gears 4 was in development after they bought the IP from Epic like 3 years before the actual game came out? But yes, is better to wait until Playground or whoever has something solid to show for and not just a "vertical slice".

Work is underway on a brand new, big-budget Fable game, Eurogamer can reveal.

Fable franchise owner Microsoft has tasked UK developer Playground, which makes the Forza Horizon racing games for Xbox and PC, with creating this new Fable, sources close to the project have told Eurogamer. Microsoft said in a statement it does not comment on rumour or speculation.

We've heard the new Fable is planned as a story and character-focussed open-world action RPG. A significant investment in its development is also planned, with some 200 people set to work on the game at Playground's newly-established second office in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

Don't expect to play this new Fable any time soon, however. We've heard it's early days in terms of development, with Playground currently staffing up the team from double digits to its triple digit target.

It does sound like a good 3-4 years out.

I am excited for a new Fable esp with playground at hand considering their success with Forza. I'd imagine that's why the hiring of outside RPG developers to get in their expertise. Really hope for some nice E3 surprises this year. Year looks bleak and only waiting for Crackdown 3 atm.

Maybe someone can hype me up for Sea of Thieves.

Glad I didn’t bite on the RiME sale!
My thoughts exactly. I’m on the $1 month of GamePass and I was going to let it run out, but with Rime and Halo Wars 2, I think I’ll spring for one full month and check those out and any others that may look promising.

Eh, I'm a cheap ass. I just add those games, plus Fable and Letter Quest, to my backlog for the next time when Game Pass is $1 again.

Syberia 3 and Resident Evil Revelations 2 are both $4.99 on Microsoft Store with free shipping. I've only played Syberia 3 on PS4, but the performance was atrocious and plagued with technical issues. The game frequently locked up or just crashed, sending me back to dashboard. I doubt the Xbox version is any better, but it's a decent enough point-and-click adventure game when it's working and did get a free DLC not too long ago where you play as Oscar, the automaton. Even if you're a series fan, I'd still recommend skipping it despite the low price, but it's your money.

Oh man, Halo Wars 2 put into Game Pass. Nice. That's actually pretty smart, there's all the leaders and expansion you could add on, if that is that it's not in the Game Pass version.

My wife got a laptop that I bought from Microsoft. Today I got an email with a $10 gift card to use for it....or I could sneak it into an XBL purchase. Hmmmm.....decisions, decisons.

Because it's called Metal Gear.
Not this again. You don't think Call of Duty players said the same thing? Didn't stop it from being one of the most popular modes in the series. I bet when Fortnite finally transitions to F2P, there'll be those who complain about zombies there too. Survive is pretty much Phantom Pain without any stealth - or story. No complaints here.

Anyone pick up Full Metal Furies (by the Rogue Legacy devs). Looks like Castle Crashers on drugs.

Tempting even at full price.
