Is anyone else having trouble opening apps?  I try to open the VRV app and it crashes back to the home screen.  I uninstall/reinstall it and while I'm trying to sign in my console powers down.  I power it back on and the app continues to crash, even after uninstalling/reinstalling again.

Xbox One X in the Alpha Ring of the Preview Program.

 
I want to buy the Forza Horizon 3/Forza Motorsport 6 bundle, but have some questions.

It says this is for PC too, i only want it for XB1, so is this indeed 2 games for Xbox or not? 

I also wonder what you guys think of this bundle, whether there's good value to it or if theres better options. Like I see there is FM6 platinum edition bundle for nearly the same price, but I'd take an extra game over extra cars, unless anyone knows something I don't!

School of '08 could be tough. Sure, there were no fortifications back in the original Horde, but there were Boom Shields (still useful even after they patched in the ability for enemies to kick over planted ones) and no bosses or enemies that could get around on the map in ways that you couldn't (e.g., flying Guardians or jumping Juvies).

Beside the grind for another 5k kills, the other achievements don't look too bad. Non-US / NA players may have trouble with the competitive wins, though, given the gripes I've seen on forums about finding matches.

The good thing about this one is that you can do it in private, like back in the day. You can choose a map like War Machine or Blood Drive, which makes it easier since you can funnel enemies and you won't have to worry about bosses much.

 
Just saw an ad on my dash to invite someone to purchase live or gamepass for 1/2 price. Then I get a $10 gift card. Limit of 10 cards ($100).
 
Ever buy a collectable X1 controller and then dont want to open it, just put the whole box up on a shelf for display lol

I got it as well. I tried to send invites to specific friends on XBL and alt accounts, but it's only letting me select a few people on my friends list, none of which are very active on XBL anymore.

The game is showing up as free on the web marketplace, and according to StoreParser it hasn't returned to regular price since its GwG period was supposed to end. Have you tried adding it to your account from the web? If that doesn't work, it may just be messed up on the marketplace.

Did anyone who did the 5 movies for $25 deal last year never get the gift card? Are those of you who have waited longer than a day starting to get the cards in? 

Thinking about doing this today but hesitant. Thanks!

 
On a related note, there is an Xbox Live Rewards mission for spending $25 on movies to get $3 back, but the 5 for $5 will leave you off by a couple of pennies. You'd need a cheap rental - I think there's a .99 rental for Transformers: Knight something this weekend. Does anyone know if you can do this mission even after the movies were already purchased? I know many missions you have to join manually before fulfilling the requirements or it won't count.

I have like 4 of these. I was buying them to try and collect them, but then I realized they were going to release them way faster than I could keep up with financially so I gave up. I have the two Halo controllers and Forza controllers from 2015/16 and some other random one. At least I'm set for the generation, I guess.
 
I just noticed the 1 year - $60 subscription is being offered now. So much for frantically buying those $5/month glitch a couple of weeks ago.

i experienced the same thing. then i found out they sent the code to my old email address. i never would have guessed this because i updated my email on their website long ago. to this day they still send stuff to that address. but by now the codes they sent me have expired.

 
one caveat - I'm in the Alpha ring for Xbox Insider.  Maybe it's just for us test dummies right now?

Go to Game Pass off the Home screen - there is a pull down button in the subscription area (1 month = $10 default).  I think there are 3 choices, one being a full year subscription for $60

Must be it because I'm in beta ring and not seeing those options. I missed the $5 deal from my own procrastination so I'd be an instant buyer at the one year price.
 
Just watched some video of Far Cry 5. I’m not a huge FC person but it looks great and should be an awesome X title. Going to have to preorder to get the $10 bonus at Best Buy.

Man Sea of Thieves is insanely hard to get right now and it released on the 14th of Feb. I snagged last one at one of the MS stores here in town. I dont really collect, but I might preorder the next controller that's game related as opposed to a controller with fruity ass color schemes

 
I'm a dummy - I am in the Beta ring, not Alpha.  I doublechecked the prices though.  They offer $10=1month, $25=3 months, $60=1yr.  Not sure if it's tied to the preview program or not.  I did buy about 15months of Game Pass @$5 each.  Maybe that triggered the 1 year offer for me?

Side note - there is an offer to Beta test a new game in the Insider App.  First come, first served - limited seats available.  NDA applies.

 
I just received my $25 back for getting the five movies. Used credit balance to get them at like 2am on the 2nd, the code email came in at 10:35 am today.

I'm no mathologist but isn't the $5 a month codes times 12 the same $60 price? You could just do the bing searches and after 3-4 months get a whole year free, less if they put it on sale again.

 
You are wise in the mathology ways.

I haven't been paying close attention to Game Pass deals.  It seemed big when they were offering $5/month (was supposed to be for 1 month only) a few weeks ago.  This was before the 1yr was offered.  And there is always Bing rewards like you said.

While I am basically a cheap bastard, I think I will grab the $60/deal out of pocket and use bing to fill in cheap games on date night.
 
Update, she immediately loved Castle Crashers and the art style. I forgot just how accessible that game is. Played til we fell asleep, then woke up and played more.

I fired up Portal and the controls weren't an issue, but it's been so long since I first played it I forgot how disorienting it can be at first to integrate the portals into spacial reasoning, etc. The first time you solve the first 2-3 levels, you feel like a genius even though they're so simple.

Given that, I think she'd really enjoy Borderlands eventually. This bodes well.

This is interesting I would love to sign up for a year if I can get it to show up for me. No luck right now though, hopefully soon. Also I am in the alpha preview ring so it isn't that.

I did this promo back in November and my movie purchases rounded up to the nearest dollar, ie you would only need to spend 24.95 to get credit towards this. Maybe just try that and check back on rewards periodically. Since the promo goes all month you could always tack on a rental at the last minute if it hasn't gone through yet.

 
I went back to borderlands 1 to get the final achievement I needed and man is split screen terrible in that, every game needs to split the screen on the horizontal axis not vertical

I also wonder what you guys think of this bundle, whether there's good value to it or if theres better options. Like I see there is FM6 platinum edition bundle for nearly the same price, but I'd take an extra game over extra cars, unless anyone knows something I don't!

No idea what the bundle price is but that is two XBox One games that you can also play on a PC. I love FH3. Not a big fan of the Forza Motorsports line. Too hard/serious. I like the arcadey play of FH3. FH3 is by far my most played game on XBox one and I hate racing games in general.

 
For those that could not get the 1 month Xbox GamePass on the Xbox Marketplace at 50% off you might want to try again.

I was not able to get this before but I was able to today, got a few months added a few minutes ago.

EDIT: Just realised that I forgot to add the 50% part, just added it now.

Does the Master Chief Collection ever go on sale anymore? Looking at storeparser it looks like it hasn't been on sale in like 2 years. That can't be right. Anyone know where I can get a digital copy for less than $20?
