Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

^ I don't understand why It's not XBox TBH despite JRPGS not selling well or the assumption they won't. It looks like Witcher 3 open world just with some turn based battle and probably a dumb story compared to the Witcher 3 amongst other things.

GWG announcement was very nice but they need to do a Witness X patch. It was already enhanced on PS4 Pro.

Also for anyone that hasn't been paying attention to GWG: Don't buy an Assassin's Creed game. They have been going GWG left and right.

This was just announced:

Synopsis: A young man, about to participate in his village’s coming of age ceremony, travels to a Sacred Stone alongside his childhood friend. After a series of unexpected events, this intrepid adventurer learns he is the reincarnation of a legendary hero from a forgotten age.

They sure don't stray too far from their formula do they? :D I thought for sure that this would be a :switch: exclusive, but it looks like I won't be needing to get one after all. This is the FIRST pure DW/DQ made for this generation of consoles, and I can't be more excited!

EDIT - I could be more excited if they announce a non-SE store exclusive CE for it, but we'll see...
No 3DS version means I'm probably only going to buy it for my PS4 and inevitable Switch, MISSING OUT ON SOME MONEY FROM SOME VERY DUMB PEOPLE, SQUARE ENIX! YOU DONE GOOFED!

Gonna be on Xbox?

Playing through New Vegas on backwards compatibility but after about 20 hours the game is crashing constantly, it's Obsidian so I should have expected this but man is it disappointing.

How do you get it?
Click on the Quests tab in the lower right on the above link. When it becomes available, there will be a submit button. Click it to have the skin added to your game inventory. If you aren't on the Quests tab, an exclamation will appear over it when it becomes available.

Another week survived in the GTASC on TA...but I have to admit, I'm getting a little tired. week after week. I know I can get further (not to the end though) the question is..do I want to keep going hum?

I just read up on the SP contents for The Fractured but Whole. From the South Park team:

southpark.cc.com said:
“Danger Deck”, where players will have to face the ultimate combat challenge in Doctor Timothy’s Danger Deck . They will be able to unlock exclusive costumes and artifacts. “Danger Deck” will be available for $5.99 on December 2017.

“From Dusk till Casa Bonita”, a new story where players will team up with The Coon and Mysterion to defeat a demonic presence at Casa Bonita. This content will be available for $11.99 in 2018.

“Bring the Crunch”, which will introduce a new story, including an all new superhero class. It will be available for $11.99 in 2018.
That adds up to $29.97, or marginally cheaper than the SP price of $29.99. If this is the case, then what's the point of buying the SP if all the DLC bought separately is roughly the same price as the SP?

There are some costumes you get as well. On the page for the SP there's a 4.99 costume pack and the 1.99 towlie dlc also included.

If you find a controller that is better - and still selling somewhere - please let me know. As I said earlier, the Pelican is still not nearly as nice as the Xbox 360 controller.
I've just been using the S Controller that came with the console I just bought, though I have a couple of 6 foot extension cables that make this bearable. It does want to stick down on the left stick and it messes with fighting games so I'll have to dig out my other controllers soon. I'm actually using a wired 360 controller as well, I'm not as dedicated to wireless only so I probably won't be searching for new controllers other than maybe extras.

Another good month of GWG for me. I keep almost buying The Witness, and Syndicate is the only main Assassin's Creed I'm missing between already played or owned, aside from Origins. Dead Space 2 is good for those that haven't checked it out. The only negative I'd give it over the first one is the lack of boss fights.

Yeah, I survived, too, but I needed to burn my 2k safety bench bonus. Would've been almost 250 below the cutoff with a 1k bonus. The new bonus should be easy enough for me since I lost a bit of TA score with older achievements losing value. I unlocked 205 GS worth 333 TA, but only went up 218 TA for the week for a pretty low ratio that I'd need to double.

Currently have 2 1k bonuses left, so I should survive the coming week, but will need to pop more achievements to get through 2 more weeks. I'd probably be satisfied making the top 500, which requires surviving 2 weeks and then finishing close to the cutoff in the 3rd week.

The PS4 and 3DS versions have been out for like 8 months in Japan. I guess 3DS owners are getting shafted, but we still haven't even seen the Switch version. I'll probably just go with the PS4 version, but Dragon Quest Builders and the art style translated pretty well to the Switch.

No Xbox version seemed pretty likely to me since the series isn't a huge seller in the west to begin with, but a PC port is a pretty big deal. I'd bet that means Final Fantasy XV did pretty well.

Square-Enix is only putting out new releases on Xbox which cost insane amounts to develop. We didn't get I Am Setsuna or any of the DQ Builders games, so I never expected DQ11. Truly disappointed no 3DS version, but by September I may have a PS4 anyway.

Not working for me.

Edit: Took a couple tries but I think I got it.
Yeah, when skins first go live, they usually don't redeem right away. I needed to click twice for it to go through, even though that's now the 3rd time I have it. Hoping they come up with a way to scrap duplicates of these promo skins.

A bit of an odd choice since including an XB1 port with fellow x86 architecture mates PS4 and PC shouldn't be too steep a hill to climb.

Now if I could just get Lift Apex to pop up and get people to vote for it for the achievement I can consider my day complete.

WOOOO! Console gaming without borders! Or whatever the terminology is for when you scoff at the words console exclusive.

No question about that, it's pretty obvious it's just business, not tech. Sony has S-E wrapped up pretty tight, or else we'd get the Kingdom Hearts / FFX / FFXII remasters. FFXV, on the other hand, was in development for almost a decade, and having a bigger install base helps justify that.

Man I'm having so much fun playing it. Far Cry 5 I mean. Hit me up if you want to co-op.
I haven't really been playing much of anything this year. But so far having a ball with FC5 too. Not to far into it but finished the first little island and have done a few missions on the area near the bottom of the map. Maybe played 3 hours today. Hopefully I don't burn out on it but so far looking forward to playing some more tomorrow.

I don't know about the remasters. I think there is the possibility that they had some kind of exclusivity deal with Sony for those. Maybe not Kingdom Hearts 2.8, but that wouldn't have made much sense to release without 1.5 and 2.5. There are more releases like that too, and the only one that could go against this is Star Ocean: The Last Hope, which got a PS4/PC remaster.

The western side of Square Enix has been on both platforms with no real issues aside from the stupid release of Rise of the Tomb Raider. It's probably just the Japanese side of the country making strange calls that negatively effect us, like Nintendo Japan does.

The IPs they got from Eidos (Tomb Raider, Dues Ex, etc) are a totally different story, business wise. Crystal Dynamics has been making Tomb Raider games since Legend, which was on the original Xbox.

Their Japanese IPs, though, anything RPG related, is a different story, and that relationship dates back to the PS1 with Sony. People associate the Playstation brand with Final Fantasy, and Sony probably wants to keep it that way. Something like 80% of FFXV's launch sales were on PS4, so I think they're succeeding.

Loving Dragon Ball Fighterz. Just so fluid with massive combos and great for people who are casual at fighters like me. I’m sure experts probably love it even more. Destined to be up there with Injustice 2 among my favorite games in the genre.

Will try to get back to FC5. I was tired last night so that may have led to my “meh” reaction. I’m sure it’ll be great once I sink my teeth into it.

Spent more time with FC5 and now I’m sold. Liberated the first Island then shit went sideways trying to steal a plane along the river. Game is gorgeous on the X once that haze from the first area lifts.

Out of all PS4 exclusives, we get No Man's Sky......
Seriously. Though we could be getting Busby.

No Man’s Sky did get a ton of updates and was much better later on so it’ll be in better shape when we get it. Thought it was a true exclusive for PS4 but I guess not.

I'm actually happy about this, I'd like to give it a spin, but I'm very glad I was not a beta tester for them and wasn't part of the hype. With all of the updates its had, I'd buy it on sale, or more likely, play it on Game Pass / GWG.

I thought it was as well. But one gets the feeling that after the initial reception (which is all Sony really cared about anyways) the concept of making it multi-platform was received by Sony with a "Sure, no problem". The hype for that game was ridiculous before it came out (partly because of promises, partly because Sony fanboys are like that about any exclusive). Then the post release struggles really shoved it out of the minds of people that might have bought into it. Popular opinion is always going to be tinted by the release content absences. It doesn't even have the mystery of what the goal of the game holds anymore.

And Hellblade.

Also, LOL at Cuphead only being $3 off...again.
I didn't care about Hellblade overall, but the high praise it's received for audio engineering and spatial sound usage has made me interested enough to give it a go. Plus I'll always give a Team Ninja game a look, additional plus I love the approach they took of releasing at $30 as a mid-level game instead of jacking the price or going barebones.

It's an excellent game.

still need 1, brotherhood, and rogue also 1 out of the 3 side scrolling ones
Yes but if I wasn't GWG when they gave out that particular AC game then there's no damage done picking up a digital copy when it's cheap right?

For example, AC IV Black Flag was GWG in July of 2015 but I was not. So picking up a digital copy on the cheap is okay.

On another note I guess Red Faction Guerilla isn't going BC if we're getting a remastered version. Only thing good about that is the double dip on gs.
