Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Is there anybody from the future who has completed this challenge and won the contest already who can verify whether this will work? I would also like to know. I want the money, but it’s actually more important for me to let everyone know my stance on the game.
I don't normally do these xbox quests, so I would think if some quest in the past had a similar requirement for spending time in a specific game that someone might know, smartass.

Anyone know why you can't give Fortnite V-Bucks as a gift? The Battle Royale Starter Pack (which is basically a V-Buck pack) has that option but none of the other ones do. I have some MS credit and my son wants the Battle Pass or whatever it is and I'm trying to figure out how to use my credit.

Xbox E3 Rumors... Take with a grain of salt, the rumors started at 4Chan so its probably nothing, but fun to speculate... but based on other rumors I have heard leading up to now, some of these seem likely.

Of course not all of these are Xbox Exclusives, some are just 3rd party to help pad out the stage and maybe some timed exclusives.

Adding spoiler for those that don't like to speculate or just want to watch it and be surprised if any of this is really true.

My Commentary:

Forza is obvious, and given Microsoft's relationship in the past with EA, Madden and Battlefield seem like they are a given and same with Anthem.

This year is the 20th anniversary of Banjo Kazooie, so a remake of those is highly likely, refresh the graphics completely, make it in 4K and put out all 3 games on 1 disc.

Microsoft knows they need things to show so Borderlands 3 seems like a likely one they get on there stage even though I expect it to be multi-platform for sure.

I have heard rumors of a new Perfect Dark so a Joana Dark game makes sense and so does the Splinter Cell game since we know Ubisoft is up to something with the voice actor. The timed exclusive might have been agreed on for Splinter Cell if Microsoft helped fund the game.

The Halo: Genesis makes sense, since the last halo single-player was mostly a flop, they know ppl want the split screen back so going back to the roots and rebooting seems logical since I imagine they want to continue building out this franchise for years to come.

It seems slightly odd to not see Gears of War but with all these other announcements they could be saving that for next year.

I made a thread in Xbox Discussion if anyone wants to discuss more:

The most exciting one on the list for me is definitely...

...Starfield from Bethesda. Hope it's a new/better engine than Fallout 4.

If rumors are true, then my buy list is:

- Forza Horizon 4 and Starfield in 2018

- Anthem (though I thought EA said Anthem was launching in the spring, not the fall....), Splinter Cell, and Cyberpunk

- Halo is questionable; will have to see trailers and gameplay first

I think it was becoming as scammed as much as Fifa ultimate team packs

Similar list went up here about a month or so ago, and got to be honest it's simply not good enough

I don't normally do these xbox quests, so I would think if some quest in the past had a similar requirement for spending time in a specific game that someone might know, smartass.
It’s all in good fun, Praxus - that was just too good to pass up.

One pretty frustrating thing about matchmaking and not communicating is I could never tell who was just running ahead trying to be a hero and who knew about the exploit where once everyone is through the round room the door closes so you can essentially skip a ton of enemies if no one gets downed. I do pretty well with junkrat in FFA. I got my 7 wins for my weekly crates in 8 matches. It helps that being in the top 4 counts as a win. I got clobbered the match that I didn't get in the top 4, I was literally in last place but the next match I came in first. The only skin I wanted was one that I didn't get last year which was Mercy and I bought that with gold as soon as the event started.
I actually had no idea about that. I'm not sure if anyone who pushed too far too fast with me knew about it or not since there was zero communication, and they never got very far before dying. I had much better luck with teams when my girlfriend was playing with me. We had much fewer quitters and people just dicking around than I ever had playing alone. I played more Uprising than Retribution because I've only had Overwatch for 6 months so I never played it before, and Reinhardt is my Main so I can play him really well.

Dang did the opening jailbreak in Saints 2 always hit single digit FPS? During the boat escape section it was like s slideshow on my X1X.
I've played it twice on the 360, both on the OG 360 and an S. Neither had any framerate issues at that spot.

Skins for future packs, shaming quitters on the in-match scoreboard and patching a current spawn trapping speed run method in Horde on Blood Drive. Guessing this.

I wish Blizzard would do that. I don't even play Competitive (yet), but I'd also like to see them implement it for all modes. I fucking hate quitters. Ruined many Uprising and Retribution wins because one or more people would just quit.

I already have it. Thanks as usual for doing this. I just wanted to say based on the number of likes on your post compared to bloomy with I, Hope people may not know the deal.
I sat on this for a while before answering because my initial thought was to tell you to go fuck yourself, and that’s not fair. I use the “ you know the deal” thing because I want people who frequent the thread to know what’s up. I’m just trying to give to the thread and social community that I frequent a token of my appreciation. I don’t have a lot of money to offer higher priced items (believe me I wish I did) but I tried to use the little contest as a way of saying thanks to the people who frequent and contribute. Obviously Bloomy is going to get more “likes” than I am. Because Bloomy is love. So dont fuck yourself my friend, appreciate you

It really isn't, if true. Not a single new IP. A bunch of marketing deals and reboots. Yay.
Which makes it seem all the more true, lol!

What new IP would you want to see?

I want a new IP where you wear headphones and fight monsters with a dragon as your companion... oh wait...

I have a hard time coming up with new IP ideas. What about a game where you are a Queen Bee and you have to manage the hive. The boss fights could be just things real bees go through. Once your hive grows big enough you have to split it and take the swarm out through the woods in search of a safe place to build another hive and now run 2 hives. This is the only game that ever mattered on the 64, for me anyway. 100% ultra classic.

Executioner, Dr. Frank, and Ming Chee ftw.
The next one, WWE Wrestlemania 2000(?) was really good too and actually a little better although at the time I was a WCW guy. Had a lot of fun with 4 player matches back in the day on those two. Pop in a little Goldeneye every now and then. Good times.

No way I'm playing fortnite for half an hour 5 different days, so expect the xbox quest reward to be really good the once month I don't do it.
I'm gonna do it just cause I've been meaning to try it out and see what the big deal is. I enjoyed that free trial of PUBG way more than I thought I would. It's not something I'm going to buy and sink a ton of time into, but I get the appeal. Curious to see how Fortnite compares.

Neva have that damn thing down in fronna me! How do I know you're not making faces at me under it?
I said fire a warning shot across her nose, not up it!

It really isn't, if true. Not a single new IP. A bunch of marketing deals and reboots. Yay.
They need some new IPs in a bad way even if it was to be a new Forza. I'm still dreaming of Forza Rally. Not that I don't love the Horizon series, but Forza could stand to branch out a little more.

I sat on this for a while before answering because my initial thought was to tell you to go fuck yourself, and that’s not fair.
Sorry if I upset you, it was not my intention. In honesty, after I made the post I did have the thought of "it is a subtle way for frequent posters to know without getting random people going for it" which probably is the case when you just come out and say it.

I don't want it to be a simulator so you could add a bunch of game stuff in there...
Japanese hornet attacks.

I like how I get emails all the time and there are huge pop ups about xbox rewards turning into microsoft rewards and constantly reminding me to spend

but they have nothing to spend the vip stuff on and nearly everything sits there out of stock other than the random crap nobody wants

that's nice of them

Yeah, it’s ridiculous. I’ve pretty much resigned myself to letting the gems convert to MS points.

Bought and played SimAnt 25+vyears ago. So disappointed with it I returned it in about 1 week.

I think you cant use xb credit on in game currencies.

I think it was becoming as scammed as much as Fifa ultimate team packs

Thanks guys. It wasn't a huge deal but there's definitely no way to gift the ones solely labeled as V-Bucks. I can use credit to buy them on my own account fine and gift the $4.99 pack that includes 600 V-Bucks, so it's weird it's not more consistent.

You don't want to buy a exclusive "wall paper" for 100 gems? For real though I think might buy the fall out shelter in game lunch boxes, might play that game someday and watching those gems turn to points will suck. If it was at least 10 points per gem I could stomach it easier, but 1 point per gem is a flat out joke.

Someone mentioned earlier that some of the F2P options had limited uses per account. Warframe Platinum IIRC, don't remember seeing anything about the lunch boxes, but might want to do some checking on that before spending all your gems on that and finding out afterward you can't use them all.

I believe I saw it mentioned here that lunchboxes are handled the same way. One use per account.

Ah the good old days, when you could exchange a game because it sucked.
I wasn't supposed to be able to. I had opened it and played it. But I made a big stink. I think I got it at eb games.

This was back in the day where pc games came on 3.5" floppy disks. We would make bootleg copies, but there was often a code wheel included with the game. It was like a giant detective decoder ring that was used to obtain a verification code. To bypass that you would just copy all the possible codes that could be output for all possible inputs on to a sheet of paper and voilá you have code look up sheet.

If I remember right, EB or one of the chains used to let you exchange games on a limited basis.

The fallout lunchboxes are once per an account, I tried to redeem two and it said I already own it when using the second code. Some options have the "once per account" warning but the lunchboxes didn't.

I was able to redeem 2 gwent codes through the rewards program. I spent all the gems I had yesterday, so I won't be surprised if they restock credit now.

Yeah some of them do say that, some boosters for World of Tanks, Smite, Paladins, I'm sure there are others. It doesn't say it under the Fallout Lunch Boxes, but it's still possible they work that way. This is what it says under the items that denote one time per account.

"PLEASE NOTE: This item can only be redeemed once per user; however, if you receive more than one, you can send your additional code to a friend. This item is only usable in World of Tanks for Xbox One."

... drink your Ovaltine??

Seems like Xbox Rewards phoned in the last survey. It asks what platforms you own with Wii U on the list and Switch missing.

Those 4chan leaks feel pretty fake to me. Realistically, I doubt they have their lineup nailed down 100% yet, but there just isn't enough new on there. The only thing on there that isn't already announced, an easy guess, or a stab in the dark at guessing a sequel name is Electric Madness.

I'd guess it's because they're connected to your Epic account, not just your Gamertag. You can use that same account on the PC and mobile versions of Fortnite.

A crummy commercial?

Okay so maybe my Bee Hive idea is to much like Sim Ant.

New idea... 100 queen bees parachute onto an island... we could sell crates with hats for the bees...
Winner, winner, honey dinner.

Depending on your valuation of gems/points and need for achievements, getting lunchboxes may be a good idea. The biggest PITA achievement is getting 20 legendary characters which can only be gotten thru lunchboxes and it takes hundreds of them to get to 20 characters. Plus it would be a boost for your fledgling shelter and make the beginning a little easier. I think you can boost the achievement because there is a mission where you earn a legendary character so you could start a shelter (you get three slots) and then earn the character and then abandon the shelter and start a new save on the slot and repeat. As far as I could tell they counted from my second shelter, but I never fully tested that theory. Meant to post it on TA when the game came out and never got around to it since I didn't KNOW it would work.

Oh, shit. There goes the thread.
It's one of my most watched movies from back in the day and I used to be able to quote the entire movie, but now it's been a few years since I've seen it so I'll refrain for the thread's sake.

fuck me. It appears that the Mass Effect 3 I bought on sale was the French version of the game (even though it doesn’t say anywhere on the webpage or the console page). I can’t change the VO option at all.

EDIT: Love support. They gave me a refund.

Fitting that this month's Rewards mission is titled "Apocalypse Rewards", as this will be the death of it.

I agree with the rest of the internet: the days when Rockstar could release CGI trailers & zero gameplay for 18 months and get us to fawn on command each & every time are over.

The cycle has shortened for everyone else in the industry: tease a game, announce it, put out a CGI trailer, show a lengthy gameplay demo, start a media blitz, release the game - all done in 9 months or less.

Show us the game, please, Rockstar.

Just pretend it's an alien language to further the whole sci-fi appeal.

I've been PC gaming since about 1990, back when floppy disks really were floppy, and 5.25" to boot. Not once did I own a game that required a key until CD's became a thing. Let alone have a code wheel. Guess the games I played weren't that great if they didn't bother requiring a code.

I'm pretty sure someone in this thread found out the hard way that it is limited use on the lunch boxes, but I'm not positive. I'd take screenshots and then raise a big stink later.
