There's some tricky achievements but nothing terribly difficult iirc outside of the ego achievements. Plus, the game just came out Tuesday. The first week especially, a game is always overinflated. I figure it'll end up settling in the 2k range somewhere when it's said and done. Maybe 3k tops with the expanded player base with the game being free.

Late to the party but my earliest was an IBM PC Jr, my sister and I used to play Zork and the original King's Quest all the time.

Hey guys got a message from xbox live thanking me for purchasing the Call of Duty WWII season pass and in the message was a code for $10. I bought it shortly after the game launched so I dunno what the criteria is for receiving this but hopefully you guys get it too if you bought it.

Here’s my take. EA may not have wanted Revenge to go BC fearing it could impact sales of the Paradise remaster. But based on how quickly it dropped, I suspect sales of Paradise have not been great. So maybe EA will allow Revenge to move forward as a BC title to see if it gives a little boost to Paradise sales after all.

That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it. 😉

Only issue could be music licensing.

There will be drop, the TA ratio is calculated by how many people start the game and get the achievements. GWG always get a pretty big bump because by nature a free thing is started by a lot more players. Rumor has it some of the achievements that are really hard in the first game like beating a team with a 99 ego (basically difficulty level with 99 being the highest) can be gamed right now by just playing the game at an easy difficulty level then turning up to 99 when you need the last out. That will probably be patched for sure and I'm away from my Xbox One this week to take advantage but worth looking into.

Seems like most of the music in Paradise is present, so they might be renewing licenses. GTA4 wasn't stopped by it, although Rockstar is maybe the only developer willing to update a 10 year old game to ensure availability vs delisting. EA is definitely taking a bit of a Game Pass approach, though, in terms of content / value. Being able to add Revenge to Access would only benefit them, so here's hoping.

Meanwhile, I'm having a lot of fun w/ Revenge still. Achievement gluttons beware, most of them are tied to end-game, high-score content for perfecting basically everything. Most of the races are easy to get 5 stars on, but some of the solo time attacks are absolute murder.

Ah yes, the memories of playing the original KQ on a Tandy from a copied floppy, "omg, you can write stuff and the character does it!". That game felt so interractive at the time.

And the plethora of awesome DOS games, like Tapper!

Missed all this talk, but I too had an IBM PC Jr. It was a "Family" Christmas present I believe in 1983 (in the middle of the Cabbage patch craze) but I think I ended up using it the most. My two favorite games were Adventures in Math (NEERRRRDDD!) and Crossfire.

Wow, Dragon Age 2 !!  Probably my #1 remaining most-wanted BC title.

And Saints Row 2 was probably in my Top 5.

And Monster Hunter: World was probably my most-requested game I wanted on sale.

I guess I have no right to complain to Microsoft about stuff for the remainder of the week.  ...See you Monday at 12:01am !

Is xcom 2 complete worth the $50? I keep seeing it go on sale, but it never dips below $50. Trying to be a good CAG, but the temptation is strong with this one.
 
Revenge is great and all, but 3 is still the best Burnout of them all. 2 ties with Rallisport Challenge for my favorite pure racer ever.

Not sure why y'all so excited for DA2.  That was the game that made you backtrack through the same areas over and over again.  Instead of missions leading to new areas to explore, you just kept getting sent back to the same places over and over.  So boring.  Worst DA game, imo.

Anyone play the free Korgan game that was recently released?  It totally reminded me of DA2 in this respect.  You complete the first objective which requires exploring the whole map, then it makes you go through the same areas again to complete the second objective.  Then it gives you a third set of objectives where you -- wait for it -- have to go through the same areas again.  And then a fourth set of objectives where you -- stop me, if you've heard this already -- have to go through the same f*%$ing areas again.  No wonder that prologue was free.  Don't get me wrong -- I liked the concept of Korgan, and the gameplay was something I could see myself enjoying (especially being able to switch characters at any time), but forcing people to go through the same map multiple times is agonizing, lazy, and lame.

It's definitely the worst, since Origins and Inquisition were great games, but I think 2 gets a bit of a bad rap. More varied environments and better companions would have done it a world of good.

Yeah, agreed, the story and gameplay was fine, imo. I enjoyed that part. But having to go to the same areas over and over and over. Like OMG.

How long does Inquisition take to get started? I played around 5 hours and just couldn't get into it. I've always meant to go back to it, but it's been two years now since I tried and I don't really think about it much.

I finished DAO and DA2 with all the DLC and DAI just never catches the same way, but since it's the only one I haven't finished and I have the complete edition I really do want to finish it.

I'll send you the memory card. Its yours to keep for after the deal. Can you log into my account and up load the game saves for me to the cloud. I dont want to buy a 360 just to upload gamesaves.

Meanwhile, I'm having a lot of fun w/ Revenge still. Achievement gluttons beware, most of them are tied to end-game, high-score content for perfecting basically everything. Most of the races are easy to get 5 stars on, but some of the solo time attacks are absolute murder.

Yeah, the upper tiers of Burnout games give me fits. Glad it's not just me.

 
50 new challenges were released for Forza Horizon 3 today. Unlike in the past, where you complete 3-4 during the period of a week, all 50 (!) are to be completed by May 11th. Interesting approach. Time to get some free cars.

I'm pretty sure those FORZA HORIZON 3 challenges all up at once is a mistake. I would think they will try fixing the dates and ultimately screw everything up. Forza Motorsport 7 had a fiasco where they changed dates and it made the challenges discontinued, then they did replacement challenges which ended up duplicating challenges for some but not others. Probably a good idea to get these done right away before it gets messed up or taken down.

Anyone play the free Korgan game that was recently released? It totally reminded me of DA2 in this respect. You complete the first objective which requires exploring the whole map, then it makes you go through the same areas again to complete the second objective. Then it gives you a third set of objectives where you -- wait for it -- have to go through the same areas again. And then a fourth set of objectives where you -- stop me, if you've heard this already -- have to go through the same f*%$ing areas again. No wonder that prologue was free. Don't get me wrong -- I liked the concept of Korgan, and the gameplay was something I could see myself enjoying (especially being able to switch characters at any time), but forcing people to go through the same map multiple times is agonizing, lazy, and lame.

Since the Digital Deluxe Edition is $25 you can say that you are paying $25 for the War of the Chosen expansion, and I don't think it's been that cheap before.

However, before you spend that kind of cheddah, try it our for free this weekend.

First time for Boltok, EMBAR and Overkill. 5 Flaming skins are needed for the I Like Em Crispy achievement.

I didn't get one. I don't really need it, the Phantom Hammerburst from last week was the last skin I needed to complete all 3 Phantom sets. But I wonder if they just haven't gotten to me yet, or if the manual granting they needed to do for it would've skipped those that already had one. Would've been nice to have another if they ever worked out a way to allow us to scrap duplicate event skins.

It does seem weird that they're all up now. Especially when the past week's #Forzathon is still going for another 10 hours. But they're unlocking. I just did a race and unlocked 7 of the easy ones on one race. This is going to be fun.

 
I'm down to 32 games which I want to be backwards compatible which aren't and also don't have an Xbox One version. (there's a few exceptions but most of them will never come being realistic)

I'd say about half of those have some chance to come (with probably 5 I fully expect to come at some point) while the others likely never will be considered a big enough deal to be worth the time. You never know though.
 
One of those FH3 challenges is named Jumping July, so they were probably not meant to all be avaiilable now.

Some misspellings in the list, too.  King Be They Name, Inconveivable.

A lot of the ones that don't require a specific car can be paired with something else.  Doing a custom, games only Online Adventure in a Nissan GTR HE will cover 3, since you'll also do 3 Playground games, once of which will be a King game.  10 Air, 10 Kangaroo, 10 Ultimate Air and 5 Ultimate Skill Chains should be easy to do together in the small hills south of the construction area in the west of the map.

Potential tough ones would be 3 stars on the Timber Mill Danger sign (had trouble getting a good run up to the ramp), top 3 in a Playground game in a Ferrari and 10 Ebisu skills.  Completing a co-op event may seem tough, though entering a co-op session and just completing a stunt (Danger Sign, Speed Trap, Speed Zone, Drift Zone) has worked for similar "any co-op event" challenges in the past.

 
I was thinking about giving State of Decay a try because I wanted to see if I would like the series. Decided after 5 minutes to just buy State of Decay 2 when it launches because it's $30.

I mean the game is probably fine gameplay wise, but I noticed a little bit too much graphical skipping for my liking.

Or, you could just do GamePass and finish it within a month....

Should be able to get a month for $5 or less
