Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Goddamit. I thought this was the one place I wasn't gonna have to deal with that [emoji90].

Down to four gems left.

Question, I’ve had 15000 rewards points pending since 5/4 for deposit, did I miss the early month deposit and have to wait till the end of the month? Never cashed any of these out before.
Same, I'm sitting on 5750 and they weren't deposited yet.

https://www.xboxliveoffers.com/en-us/quests?OfferID=43E2872E-B2D8-424D-A522-9AA57DDE0558

According to the link I've only downloaded 1 game, but I definitely didn't download Super Mega Baseball until after we knew about the mission, and I DL'ed Vanquish two days ago. Either 360 games don't count or maybe SMB didn't count yet because I didn't boot it up. I'll try that but otherwise I guess I'll need to DL Metal Gear just for whatever this stupid quest is for.

Anyone else excited for the BLOPS 4 reveal tomorrow and 6 days later Battlefield 5
Umm I'm getting older so not really? I'm excited for the fallout if it's Multi-player only and excited if Battlefield ever bothers to bring back the fun of 1942 or Battlefield 2

Same. Battlefield is kinda fun, but my god, those matches take forever.

It doesn't display real time data so give it a few days. I played Fortnite for 5 days straight and it only showed 50% for me. It took another week for it to update fully. 360 games should work because it gave me credit for Vanquish.

State of Decay review embargos are going off, and yep it is what we thought it was. 2 disappointing factors, developer talked up so much how State of Decay 1 was just basically a stress test to this MMO world. Now it's a 4 player co-op with zombies and bullet sponges, to collect some base building stuff haven't seen one of those before. Knew it was going to be the game it is but man look at the PS4 still riding God of War for another couple good months, it's time to start putting out some stuff Phil.

Wonder what happens there for real, if they did want to do a State of Decay MMO, I get that that infrastructure costs money but you are Xbox Live not Nintendo. How about starting to run some more MMO's.

ain't going to get any better when Spiderman comes out, better see some straight up magic at E3

I think the MMO thing has always been an unrealistic goal from this team. Undead Labs is a fairly small team that happens to be founded by the lead programmer of World of Warcraft. They also aren't owned by MS, they're partnered with what seems like a fairly hands off deal, so they must not the full resources needed for anything super ambitious, which we don't know if they could handle anyways.

I really hope MS has been investing in building up some kind of decent developer pipelines so GOOD exclusives can start flowing rather than one mediocre game after another. They need to build up some teams that aren't enslaved to one franchise if they ever want to come within reach of Sony and Nintendo's first party line-up, and/or work with decent outside studios by giving licenses to good teams (like Nintendo's recent partnerships with Team Ninja, Tecmo, and Platinum Games.)

Wow. Eurogamer hammered State of Decay 2 giving it an “Avoid” tag. I haven’t seen that very often. Usually they just leave off the “Recommended” if a game isn’t that good.

Any idea how long it takes Microsoft to convert Xbox reward credits to $'s? I've had 16500 in reward credits now for 2 weeks. The info says around the 15th and 30th of every month..but that was a few days ago.

I'm thinking there's a problem..but no idea who to contact because their site is horrid.

E3 Sony = look at our 4 awesome games we have been showing for years. We will focus on them because we aren’t sure if we have much else right now.

E3 Microsoft = damn it guys we are trying. Here are a couple titles you expected. Solid, but you were expecting them so...eh. The other stuff is in the works but games take years, not months

E3 Nintendo = check out this mash up with donkey Kong and rugrats. Trust us you want them

I'm in the same boat. Put in a reward credit convert thing on the 7th.

Checked the Xbox rewards site today and $10 and $5 Visa prepaid reward cards are available to redeem. Got what I could and we'll see what MS does with my leftover 72 gems.

Of course I'm 40 gems short.
Just scored 100 more gems today (for maintaining gamepass for 3 months I think). So I snagged a $5 visa gc and have 60 gems left over. Better than letting 210 gems convert to Ms rewards points. Hoping to spend enough by the end of the month to hit the next rewards % back tier - mostly space bucks. Then I can get grandfathered in during the transition period at that return % level.

Celebrating the end of grad school with Mass Effect 2 and it's just as good as I remember. Amazing how well its aged, it looks and feels right at home on a current gen system.

Very tempted to use that free $10 from the rewards stuff on Wonder Boy while its on sale. Anyone care to persuade me one way or the other? Also tempted to save it for the Bloodstained game in a week, but since it's retailing at $10, Wonder Boy feels like the better choice.

Assuming he can take us far away from the mucky-muck.

Reading comments for the XBox Adaptive controller hurts my head... I Mean it's nothing, but good because

1. People with disabilities can be able to play games.

2. Think about how fucking awesome playing Mario Party 3 will be on those emulation websites on XBox One with those big ass buttons and everything!

Will you take this

I used to live in an area that had very urbanized squirrels. Leaving the house one day I saw one standing in a tree eating a slice of pizza holding the crust streched horizontally between his left and right paws. And another time there was one eating Doritos, well just one Dorito.

Reading comments for the XBox Adaptive controller hurts my head...
I watched the announcement video on YouTube shortly after it was posted. 1.7k like and 14 dislikes. I'm just wondering of those 14 dislikes, how many were from actual people who might need a device like that and how many are from the general negative internet commenter crowd. It appears to be a good thing. Unless it comes out that it actually doesn't work well, I'm going to remain optimistic that it's helping more people enjoy a hobby I love.

Most of the comments treat it like "How dare Microsoft force me to buy this $100 controller that I'm not the target demographic for!" or merely mocking it because they see the pictures and don't understand the functional purpose it's meant for. You know, the internet!

Finally saw the trailer for RAGE 2 and off the top it looks like fast doom style shooting with halo like jump elements and a hint of rage 1 stuff. I'll definitely be picking this up but still have to finish AC origins and then get far cry 5.

It's on the FAQ that flashes repeatedly in the rewards site.

"What will happen to my Xbox Live Rewards MyVIP Gems, MyVIP Perks, and MyVIP Vault?

You'll have until May 31, 2018 to earn MyVIP Gems and unlock any new MyVIP Perks. You'll then have until June 15, 2018 to claim any open MyVIP Perks and to redeem any unused MyVIP Gems in your Xbox Live Rewards account for prizes from the MyVIP Vault. After this date any unredeemed MyVIP Gems will be converted to Microsoft Rewards points and can be used to redeem rewards from the Microsoft Rewards catalog once your membership is transitioned. One MyVIP Gem will convert to one Microsoft Rewards point."

This was the first game I've asked for a refund from M$. It's gorgeously animated but the skeleton of the actual gameplay that has been reskinned is still there and it's just not fun. At least for me. I'd say pass (it's more Young Nastyman than Wonder Boy).

Is there a trial for it? Maybe watch some videos?

I watched a short video review which sang its praises, and it's got almost an 80 on Metacritic. I also love retro platformers....

You can use no-rush shipping credit on it too. The GOTY edition is also $29.99 on Microsoft Store. Credit to SD for the deal.
Thought for a second about going digital. Then I saw it trades for a whopping $2.20 at GS. I’ll stick with physical seeing how little I play it to begin with.

Nice deal though if you don’t have it.
