Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Love my TCL TV beware of one issue when you play a HDR game you have to go back to the Roku menu or turn TV on/off quickly otherwise your dashboard is all washed out from HDR. Known bug my friend with the newer TCL has the same issue.

Beats the hell out of my issues with Samsung where the TV would turn on, and if my XBox was on first it would turn off.

I still haven't bought anything from this sales. I'm thinking Pillars of Eternity will hit game pass considering the second is out by the end of this year. Bethesda has supported Game pass so I can see Dishonored and Prey hitting game pass as well.

Only game I've debated is Marvel vs Capcom Infinite because of the delisting rumors for October. I'm wondering if it will hit cheaper then $16 before October.

If I know enough about white racism and I wasn't born yesterday then I know white supremacy movements can be championed under the guise of ''disagreement'', and this game sets off red warning lights on that front, and a poster thus confirmed my concerns, and a few words calling people names - because you dont like this fact - won't change the fact...
Huh?

I'm leaning heavily towards waiting to get the 65" Series 6 or maybe settling for the 55" Series 6 at this point with the provision in the contract that would let us upgrade to 65" in the future.

EDIT - I guess that since I'm considering a 55" TV this introduces the 5 Series into the mix. Looking at the chart at tclusa.com, is the only difference between the two the contrast zones? The 5 Series looks to be a FANTASTIC value, but I don't want to get into a situation where I'm exchanging TVs because it's fucking hot outside.
I’d personally still go for a 6-series if you can afford it. Those contrast zones can make a big difference in HDR/DV quality and uniformity. Having the 2017 P series, I always wish I had waited a little longer to get the newer 6-series model because it has more dimming zones.

Also, since you mentioned the Apple TV 4K, definitely consider upgrading to it from your 3rd gen. I have it and love it. So much 4K content available on iTunes. Cheaper prices than Vudu and FandangoNow and free upgrades from HD when a movie goes 4K. There’s also cheaper digital codes to buy to get movies.

Got mine from a DirecTV Now promos where you pay three or four months of service for $35 a month and get the ATV 4K free. There’s a lot of cash back offers available for that deal too.

Oh and I also upgraded from a 55” Samsung (KU6300).

Embarrassing stuff, Chris. I would not be wrong to say all nazis are terrible, surely the families destroyed by nazi crimes care not whether their tormentors started from a place of cowardice! It is also safe to say every Christian starts with good intentions while every nazi does not, but I won't go any further with you. Have a good night.

You really shouldn't be allowed to go around slandering people. If all you have is 3 words and no argument then maybe you are the troll (of what ilk i need not guess...) and not me. All you did was take my words out of context, trying to imply that I stated I asked a question knowing the answer, thus proving I was a ''troll''. But if you had the competence you would have read the words ''on its face'' and knew to either come with an argument or keep it moving.

Onto finally purchasing my haul...
I can’t remember what your original question or concern was but I’d like to offer some simple and hopefully useful advice.

1. Don’t buy the game
2. Buy or rent it, actually play it, and form your own opinion on what the game is about.
3. Write to Bethesda about your concerns. Will they respond? Who knows?

Life is too short dude. I hope your haul is a good one!

I thought the game cover looked like something out of an alt right fascist sleeze comic book, i asked what's up with that, triggered some. I agree with you though and dont want to stink the place up so I'm done.

Haul so far is Injustice Gods Among Us..

Weird. My problem is the TV registers HDR on Netflix and gets washed out. It only happened a couple of times and just reopening Netflix fixed it.

I got the 55 tcl 6 series paired with my Xbox one x and it’s wonderful. Again apparently there some issues with vertical banding but I notice nothing on my screen, I haven’t had any issues with it. And all the Xbox one x settings click off on the tv so your good to go, hdr looks great. However now that some time has passed I realize the speakers are low quality and not that good. Turning it up I get a lot of sound vibration. Red dead redemption on the x and the tv look amazing btw looks like a recent gen game. Can’t wait for part 2 to look the best on the x

It isn't much, but I won't end up using this, so here it is up for grabs. This code is good for 25% off a rental on Vudu. Hopefully someone can use it.

I think some people are confused over why a game that’s main premise for almost 40 years has been killing nazis would be confused for nazi sympathizing but that’s just a guess.

Thanks for the input so far!

I have a 3rd gen AppleTV so it isn't 4K, but I've considered getting a current gen unit because I have more 4K content there than I do on Vudu/others. Some food for thought.

I heard about that, but I wonder why the consoles will support both technologies. Are there that many displays that have one tech or the other and not both, or is it about the source media and not the display? Or is it both? :p
I think it has more to do with the various source material and what they offer. FWIW I believe the 6 series Vudu app supports DV and HDR10. So whatever movies you might already have in Vudu that support DV should display in DV.

I picked up last years P605 at Best Buy a month or so ago. Just picked up my first 4k BluRay yesterday. It supports both HDR10 and DV. It also came with a vudu code which I redeemed and also is listed as UHD. From what I read it should allow me to stream from Vudu and provide Dolby Vision but I haven't tried it yet.

I can't see my buying a lot of movies physical or digital but a few. Wanted to see what all the hype is about and have a disc or two to show it off. I wanted the Star Wars movie anyway and figured why not get it in 4K. Plus my wife "made" me go to Walmart yesterday. Figured I might as well get myself something while we were there.

Looking for some help on spending the rest of my MS credit (approx. $48).  I've narrowed it down to a few options:

A) Doom/Wolf 2 Bundle + 3 months Game Pass

B) Extend Gold for another year (currently expires 4/19) + Titanfall 2 or DE:HR

C) Save credit and hope that Nier: Automata goes on sale somewhat soon

D) Save credit for BF/Winter sale

So far, I've picked up Lego Star Wars: TFA (my 5yr old is obsessed with Lego Star Wars games), a re-buy of Pillars of Eternity and a pre-order of No Man's Sky.

Thanks!

I'd go with option B if you don't use Microsoft Rewards points on Xbox Live subs. 12 month Xbox Live subs don't drop sub $40 anymore.

Otherwise, stick with option D until option C becomes a reality. :)

I would go with D, which I imagine will be the same as C.

I don't think you'd regret Doom/Wolfenstein. Great games. It's tempting for me despite owning both physical copies (their reverse artwork is awesome). You should really Bing though, take care of that Gold membership with daily web browsing.

I kept almost buying Wolfenstein II and Doom pack but I decided to wait til I beat the first one. That pack might be cheaper at the Christmas sale anyways.

Did amazon change the rules of their promotional credit? Just tried to buy a $25 Xbox card and only $8 of my 27 balance will apply.
Yeah. No more use on video games for the No-rush credits. I thought maybe they wouldn't include the money cards being excluded alongside the game codes, but I now see that won't be the case. Ugh. Guess I'll have to pick a book or movie with my credits now.

Apparently discussing a video game is off topic.
If I had to quess someone complained? But yeah weird

I meant to write that I would be giving away Hellblade today before date night stuff drops, so if you know anyone that wants to enter let them know quick will be getting it out before I leave the shop today :)

I'm getting a little nervous and hoping someone else has seen this happen and has an idea what could cause it. Twice now my TV has displayed a nearly solid green screen. Saturday the store was getting wonky and freezing when looking at the ultimate sale page and it just randomly turned green with white outlines of text and boxes. This morning my xbox hadn't turned off on it's own like it should and when I turned it off the screen turned green.

The less people that know the better....for me lol.

CAG account should be revoked and banned for you people buying the same game multiple times.

Way too often I find myself rebuying gaming content to play on my newer, preferred platforms. The very same content that has been sitting untouched in the backlogs for my older, less used platforms. I may need an intervention.

Really struggling witj whether i should buy battlefront ii or not. I generally enjoyed the first one, and consider myself a pretty big fan of star wars
For $15 it seems like a pretty good deal
Dlc is all free now right? Just cosmetics to buy with mtx?

Does anyone have any thoughts on Castlevania Harmony of Despair and its DLC add-ons,, Crystal Defenders, Contra, Super Contra and/or the Silent Hill HD Collection? Thanks advance for any advice.

I remember that Castlevania game caused a lot of disappointment. People expected a traditional game, but it's more of an arcade style experience with an emphasis on multiplayer and time attacks. A friend of mine loved it, just don't go in expecting Symphony of the Night or anything like it.

Crystal Defenders reviewed pretty well IIRC, and if you like Final Fantasy, it's skinned w/ FF enemies/themes/etc.

The Contra games are the arcade ports, which are a lot harder than the NES games. If you know that going in, $2.50 is not bad.

Silent Hill HD was kinda broken, and only the PS3 port got patched. They even offered free games to players who bought it, because it was broken. They lost the source cod to the original, final builds of SH2-3, and used pre-finished code to create the HD games. So they aren't ports of the final PS2 versions, SH2 was more of a beta.

Some discussion on it:

Some report it plays fine. Others, not.

I can only speak on Castlevania and Crystal defenders

I loved castlevania a lot ,because like GGP said, its faster paced and a lot of fighting. I liked it because it felt different

On the other hand I hated crystal defenders. It's a pretty straight forward turret defense game. The set ups you need to get perfect rankings are insanely hard and you can ruin the whole run by placing a turret like 1/10 of an inch out of place

If you enjoyed the first it is with getting. Campaign wasn't bad, all dlc is free except the cosmetics, and I believe one of the upcoming patches is supposed to go back to a squad system similar to the first.

Starfighter mode is a hell of a lot of fun too.

As someone who doesn't care for Fortnite BR, I've been havin a blast with Save the World. If you have a kid who you buy V-Bucks for...I gained like 2100 in just 3 days of playing.

Have not tried the campaign so no idea about it but the mp is a mess. I get thrown in with guys with all maxed out cards that I can’t kill lol. The matchmaking just seems off but that could just be the low player count. All that is left is the hardcore and new people. Then the new people leave because it does not look like I can ever reach where these other player are. I might just be bitching because I suck lol.

The game is pretty and does play better then the first.

Fortnite F2P must be starting soon?  I think they said 2018, and we have 5 months left.  I'd like to try the main game but will wait patiently like a cheapass.
