I've been trying to check and see what's the cheapest forza 7 has been. I thought it has been cheaper during one of their flash sales, but store parser has it listed with it being the cheapest now?

Oh and the halo collection is a deal at that price, I like to change between old and new graphics on the fly.
 
Pretty decent month for GwG.  Glad I never bought any of those when they were on sale.

I better finish up FH3 this week so I can hop on FH2 next week.

 
Nice month! I just bought horizon 2 for $5 on the last sale and I've looked at For Honor so many times but just not a big fighting game fan so I'm excited to try it. Also had epic mickey 2 in my ebay cart more times then I would like to admit.

 
Translation, keep an eye out for Horizon 2 dlc deals because the delisting is incoming.

Well, I paid $5 for the FH2 standard edition when it went on sale during E3. I knew I could've waited and got it for free but don't regret it (mostly because I assumed we wouldn't get it until September in order to hype people for FH4).

Less than a year ago, the Dead Space sequels were not available in digital format. Fast forward to 2018 and we got DS2 in April and now DS3 in August.

Is For Honor enjoyable for people that only occasionally play multiplayer games?  Is it fun joining a game solo?  Or do you have to be all-in hardcore with the community and a group to enjoy it?

It depends on how you would lay the game:

  • Like playing PvP? You won't need the expansions to play on any of the expansions' maps, unless you want to play a private match, but you also won't have access to any of the expansions' weaponry/armor (armor is mostly cosmetic).
  • Like playing high-end highly coordinated PvE content? You'll definitely want to dig into the expansions, including the new one coming out in September.
    There are raids (normal and prestige) for each expansion
  • The second expansion introduced a type of gameplay that is so fun if you can get enough people into it (plus the loot is fabulous).
  • The next expansion will release a game mode that is a combination of PvE and PvP that promises to be fun.
  • There are much harder versions of strikes (mini missions that can be repeated) called Nightfall Strikes (normal and prestige, which can be cheesed a little) that for some weeks you would be locked out if you don't have the appropriate expansion. Also, they have a chance to drop some pretty neat loot.

[*]If you don't think you'll play any of that high-end stuff but just want to run around and shoot things in the face because the shooting mechanic is so good, you don't need the expansions for that.

I just find I get bored playing solo after a while.

$20 isn't too bad though if you screw around with the online for a few weeks at least.

The first expansion soured a lot of people, but the second expansion was the start of Bungie's apology to the community. That apology has continued with QoL updates and little things here and there and will continue with a HUGE QoL update at the end of August and then again with the release of the newest expansion in early September.

Of course, if you are playing alone because all your friends have moved on, there is very little that can be done to get that fun back. You can start looking for new friends in the game or join a clan, but that is hard to do without going outside of the game to LFG websites and apps (which personally I think is worth it because I've added a few dozen new Destiny friends in the past few months).

Major props to Bloomy who replied to my question when Forza Horizon 2 went on sale last month and pointed out it was due to become free via GWG soon. Those Forza games go free in time and it did so, like clockwork. Thank you!!!

Would never have tried For Honor, so I'll take the freebie. Stoked to try Epic Mickey 2. That one flew under the radar. Though Dead Space 3 is the weakest of the DS trilogy, its still worth a play through. Excellent GWG month. Makes up for that f2p crap we just got for free

Domination, the main mode of the game, is pretty good for solo players. I'd probably stay from the duel modes though.

What types of games do you usually enjoy? Adventure Pals is pretty fun and a decent platformer.

 
i thought epic mickey was delisted.

for honor is a great addition for xbox one x owners. it's in my top 5 for best graphics on x. i just wish i hadn't picked it when my friend asked me what i wanted for christmas. he bought it for himself as well and neither of us has dug into it much.

Glad I bought FH2 Ultimate for $12 during the E3 sale. Bought the complete DLC pack for it shortly after that for about $22. Great GWG pickup for anyone who didn't buy it while it was on sale.

For Honor and Epic Mickey 2 are what I'm looking forward to. DS3 is not of interest because I don't really play horror/survivor games. Closest I've gotten to that genre is TLoU and Dark Sector.

Great month for GwG:

I bought FH2 disc after I finished the first and the all dl pack. I'm glad I'll also have the digital version so I won't have to pull out the disc anymore.

I keep thinking about buying For Honor so now I won't have to.

Now we'll have all the DS games.

Mickey games are usually fun.

I did sink a lot of time into when it first came out, probably 80+ hours, but I always played alone. I could hold my own on the 1v1 matches okay but team modes felt very much like most multiplayer games where the team can very much make or break how you do. You could be matched with random people that you roll over the enemy team with but then the same team is matched up against people that seem like pros and take you all down.

I guess that's good news, but it took them nine months to realize that people didn't like the prize/mod crate system that really hampers the game and respond to it. I hope they overhaul the mods system back to what was a free, normal part of the previous games.

 
Anyone tried the first sea of thieves dlc, has any of the content added differed from the game? Is it the same fetch quests? I played the game til about level 20 on two factions so I did enjoy it a bit but the love for the game has died a bit and I tried to play again the other day but I wasn’t feeling it...

Then again since It's on the X1 you still own the game vs Gold rental if your Gold is to lapse or MS kills the console lol

For Honor is rather good after the last few patches, and the dedicated servers work well. I never lost connection in the last 10 hours I played though people still rage quit obviously.

Can we also see a X patch now Forza Horizon 2, MS? Also Gears of War Ultimate. Come on.
