Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Are there any repercussions for letting my Xbl subscription lapse? I'm about 1k short from cashing in the 12 month reward on Bing and won't make it by October 1st.

Any other deals at the MS store?

To contribute, microcenter has For Honor, COD ..un whatever version came before Ww2, and Ass Creed Origi for $10.
Do you have a link? I have a Microsoft store at the mall near me, but I kinda don’t know what you mean, I only know to go to Microsoft website but there AC is $60.

You lose the ability to play GWG titles on the X1, no more multiplayer, and no deals with gold.

Those are biggest issues.

Well Microsoft decided to deny my refund request for TWD. Fair, I guess, since I made the purchase back in June. Guess I'll just sit back and see how it all plays out.

The additions to Game Pass for next month just continue to underscore that this subscription is not for me.  I've already played all the major games (Wolfenstein, Metro) that they're adding.  Thank goodness I only paid $2.

I think GP is a great service for people who replay older games or who are new to the ecosystem.  Every time I subscribe to it (during sales; would never pay full price), it just keeps reminding me that it's not for me.

$2 to play FH4 for a month is not bad so I'm not complaining about my current sub.  But I am definitely not the target audience for this service.

Edit: Didn't realize no one posted this yet.

I just bought stuntman like a week ago or so on sale

This is the first month I actually own a game coming to GWG. Bought Overcooked Gourmet Edition nearly a year ago when it was $7.09 as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. I hope this isn't a trend!

My only question is, will I get a free game or two for watching this on Mixer and not World of Tanks bullshit?

It's actually a Mega Man reference, since MM takes place in the year 200X, and this is in the year X018. Confirmed, MS has bought Capcom.

This statement stands out:

Xbox News said:
We’ve been working closely with studios of all sizes to ensure mouse and keyboard experiences on console are fun, fair and correctly balanced, and look forward to introducing more games with support for mouse and keyboard input in the future. Tune into the November 10 edition of Inside Xbox for more details about additional titles supporting mouse and keyboard, and to learn more about our partnership with Razer.
Read more at https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2018/09/25/mouse-and-keyboard-support-for-xbox-one-developers/#kvdWkcGqrMkTXFkM.99
I don't know how this can be balanced, other than creating separate queues/lobbies for controller folks and kb/m folks.

I'd like to try it out on my console, but I am worse than trash with kb/m because it has been longer than most on this board have been alive since I ran that config.

Just looked up Victor Vran, on Steam it's 9/10, Diablo-esque action RPG. Would have written it off as shovelware, but I'll probably give it a look now.
It's not.bad. I grabbed it from GS on a 4/20 and got all the dlc.
It gets repetitive but it's a Diablo clone.
Be nice to play without having to have the disc in.

Not sure how, but I got the Rewards app part of the quest to work tonight. I just clicked it in the app and it took me back like it had been doing, but it gave me the check mark, so I’ll take it
I’ve been trying that every few days and nothing has changed. I’ll check and see again. I did notice on it that it can take 24 to 48 hours I believe to take effect.

Do I need Hollow Knight if I only just got Ori from the sale? (Why does Microsoft give you two ori downloads btw? Definitive and normal one? Is the normal one like the 360 version?!)

Is the gameplay in Hollow Knight more about skill or more about just being hard for the sake of it?

Is there any weapons (skills) that are actually fun to use, like lets say the homecoming launchers in risk of rain, or the turrets in dead cells?

Any decent deals on Xbox Currency?

I'm thinking last minute impulse purchase on Assassin's Creed Odyssey but still want to be a bit frugal. This is CAG after all.

The new Assassin's Creed looks good but I am like 4 AC games behind. I need to start one of them I think.
Seems a very common thing now, people just buying games to collect and fill their 4TB harddrives, always needing more games. Barely playing them. Always hyped for the next big game. I saw in FH 3 only like 15% even did the last big race.

If you get behind then you can wait a year and buy the games for $20 while you play last years games, or be like me and just play Overwatch still...

The Definitive Ed has extra areas built into the game, so they give you the classic version if you want the original experience. I'd start with the DE and boot up the standard if you want more gamerscore. The new areas add a lot to the story and characters, and are easy to skip if you decide to.

Based off gameplay videos, it looks like Hollow Knight leans heavily on the Dark Souls formula of long wind ups, dodging, and punishing whiffs. There's only one weapon that you upgrade for increased damage and new attacks.

It's a dark souls inspired metroidvania, which is pretty much a no-brainer insta-buy for me. A dozen or so of my posts back I posted Yahtzee's review/comparison of Dead Cells and Hollow Knight. That might be of interest to you, as it sounds like you have Dead Cells already. Although it's worth noting that his review is based off the early access version of Dead Cells which didn't yet have the final boss or added difficulty levels.

It's a fun twist on the Diablo style RPG - nice to see another dev's take on the game type.

Where it shines for me so far is when you can wield an electric guitar and do massive damage. And I'm only about a third into it and have found many interesting weapons. Definitely not a Diablo clone. Looking forward to finding what else is coming down the line.

To add on to this, the DE also has a warp function that you unlock pretty early, while the original edition does not. Also, you can go back into “dungeons” (not really but best easy descriptor without spoiling anything) in the DE, while in the original you cannot. Take that for what it’s worth, but it makes the DE a bit easier to navigate and also a lot easier to 100% with a little bit of backtracking. Original edition is definitely a bit more of a challenge... unless you count one-life mode in the DE, which is such a pain in the rear but OH SO worth it when you finish it.
(I got 100% in both games and I’m super proud of that fact, sorry).

Anyway, whichever you decide to play, I’m hoping you enjoy it. One of my favorite games ever.
