Until X announces support for anything but Netflix, Dolby Vision on it shouldn’t even be considered when making a TV purchase. Tons of streaming devices including the TCL itself support streaming DV and on more than just Netflix.

TCLs are such a good value that, hell, you can buy an LG 4K disc player for $149 (maybe less) to pair with your consoles and still be ahead.

Love my TCL and my X. But DV on the X is currently a complete waste of time even on supported TVs.

Mainly want it for my X, I dont think I watch that many movies for it to even count as a very important point then, just checking for the good old buyers remorse, I bought a 3d Vizio when the 3d was starting (if it ever really did) and have maybe watched 2 3d movies on it since I got it like almost 6 yrs ago, I dont like playing on it much cause the lag is bad even with game mode, but if I waited this long I guess a couple more weeks to look at the deals wont kill me... at least not before my wife does when I come in with my new toy... LOL

also if you get the 6 series at Best Buy, it's $50 cheaper and the only difference is the remote:

I’m a big Diablo fan. The news franchise fans received today is not what they have been waiting years to hear. The backlash Blizzard is seeing wouldn’t be quite as bad if they hadn’t hyped up the announcement like they did.
 
I think I'll go with TCL 55R617. I'll wait for Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday to see if it'll go lower in price. Thanks for helping.

It is a great TV for the price, just know there are compatibility issues with it. Most people can look past the problems

1000% wait to buy. I know streaming is inconsistent support for DV, but many discs do support it. Better local dimming is the feature I wish my Samsung had. It's very very nice though. My favorite feature other than hdr is 24hz output.
 
Caught up on Castlevania on Netflix and man,I am very impressed at how much they respect the timeline of the games. Particularly with Leon Belmont being referenced and the inclusion of Hector and Isaac from Curse of Darkness being key secondary characters in the series. It makes me wish I could play some Castlevania pachinko right now!

I haven't picked this up yet but I've heard good things. The other books I have read associated with Hardcore Gaming 101 have been pretty good.

It's a bummer that so far the definition of bare"bones" Symphony of the Night/Rondo of Blood is PS4 only. Granted Xbox One actually has in some arguments the better Symphony with the so bad it's good dialog in backwards compatible from the 360, but would of loved to have finally played Rondo.

This is why I ended up with my TCL is for that local dimming support. And then an LG 4K player just a few weeks ago for for discs.

From what I’ve been hearing, it sounds doubtful that the Xbox One will ever support DV for discs which is what I had hoped it would do. Hope they’re wrong because that to me would be huge. Watching discs on my 4K player is just gorgeous.

Lords of Shadow itself seems to be treated like it's own universe, since they take some heavy changes in everything that don't match up to the "official" timeline. So just a thing to keep in mind.

None that I can think of outside of something possibly released by IDW whom I believe release the comic series and the aforementioned Lords of Shadow art book. The closest thing I can think of outside the US we ever got was the mini art book and poster timeline from preordering Portrait of Ruin. Though if you're concerned about history of the series before playing the game, don't be since nearly each game (minus Lords of Shadow) feels like a Zelda game in how there is a preestablished history or lore they may slightly reference, but it doesn't hinder any enjoyment or make you feel like you really missing out.

Edit: picked up the Castlevania Lord of Shadows art book from Amazon and saw the Witcher book is also on sale, so picked that up too.

Wasn’t free on my end either but after getting up to nearly 24k points during last month, 1000 is an easy amount to spend for a $1 donation. Good on you for pointing it out. Hopefully others either have the 0 point donation or will use some of their points, too.
 
Amazon giving out those free trials like candy all the sudden

I was a paid member since the beginning but let it expire last year because the new and "improved" prime just isn't for me anymore

but they gave me 60 free days on my account first a 30 and then a week later an extended free trial offer bumping it to 60 days

so check your accounts if you're in my boat and left amazon over the last year might get ya some free prime

Anyone know how to get Battlefield 1 from GWG? When I go to the store page on the Xbox or the website my only 2 options are to install the trial or buy as a gift.

Running into the same issue. As far as I can tell is this the first game available in EA Access that went Games with Gold? My EA Access runs out on the 11th so going to let that lapse and try then, but I've tried the website and the tile in the Xbox dashboard with no luck. Victor Vran and Assassin's Creed show "owned" but BF1 just says "installed'

I had it installed when I had the EA Access membership. It converted to a 10hr trial once I let it expire. When I "bought" it as a GwG game, it showed that I had a trial installed. I was able to "buy" it from that screen.

Maybe install the trial and then "buy" it? Worked for me.

I was worried that would be the solution, having a data cap sucks lol.

I've been having a blast in fallout 76. Both playing it solo and coop. Just looting stuff and surviving is what I've always enjoyed in F4 cause the quests weren't that memorable but the locales were and they also are in 76. My coop buddy an I set up a makeshift base today before the server shutdown and overall it's very fun if you like looting and crafting.
