Yes, it's worth it currently. Gameplay is great, and the first major patch that removes the two main exploits is coming out today or tomorrow. Some people have been having network connectivity issues. Personally, I usually can't connect with wi-fi most of the time, but wired is fine. Single player isn't really amazing but it's decent and there are a decent amount of modes. If you like character creation it's definitely a highlight. Only slight improvements over Soul Calibur V, but they are worthwhile, and you have 100 slots now.

I've heard loading is kind of long on normal Xbox One, I only have an X so I can't confirm.

So how do you feel now that we know the backwards compatible version of XIII is actually the best version available and that it received source quality fmv files, video files that are better than those available on PC?

 
I just started up FFXIII and the opening scene looked fantastic.  However, I don't seem to have my game save anymore so it looks like I'll be starting from scratch.

I bought the XO3s from best buy just recently for $30 to replace my Xbox stereo headset and I would say they sound just as good if not better. Definitely a great buy for the price.

the other night I played battletoads

and once again was clueless as to how I beat those games as a kid without saves and unlimited tries

Give me all the saves cheats and gas station dick pills and I still couldn't beat those 8 bits as a rapidly aging 90s kid turned old man

Yeah, for $35 it's worth it.

Game has a lot of things I take issues wiith but it's a very solid fighting game overall and redeems Namco for dumping that piece of shit Dragonball FighterZ on us earlier this year. Just make sure you have an Xbox One X or you'll have to deal with 1 minute load times.

 
Is FH4 worth it or should I just stay with FH3? Also AC: Odyssey the extra gear you get in the ultimate ed is it worth the extra money or just stick with gold?

I had to go back on the 360 and save my game to the cloud to sync it on xbox one

It's tough because I know AC Odyssey and Far Cry 5 will be much cheaper early next year, so will I play it over Christmas Break.... that's the Q.

Final Fantasy XIII looks gorgeous with the X enhancements. For once Sony fans have to live without a Final Fantasy goodie. 🙂

Far Cry maybe, Assassin's Creed Origins held pretty close to $30 for most of the year, until we got within a couple months of Odyessy. If there really isn't a new game next year, I could see it staying higher for a while. Out of your choices I'd still recommend Nier the most.

 
So, on top of what I already picked up, I might buy some discounted MS funny money from Raise and pick up some more stuff because I think I've sequestered my rational inner adult. I'm looking at Far Cry 5 Deluxe (you know, because it comes with FC3 and those fricking Komodo Dragons), SotTR Deluxe, Black Friday, Monster Hunter World, and maybe... maybe CoD WW2.

I know it's a big sum... but my backlog hungers.

Anyone want to talk me out of any of them or do I feast?

I believe only the gold version of FC5 comes with FC3 since it comes with the season pass.

I went upstairs and turned on the :360: to do just that, but there was no record of FFXIII on any of that console's storage options (internal HDD, USB HDD, cloud save space). So if I did indeed play the game (99% sure), it was on a console that I no longer own.

 
It just dawned on me how much of a missed opportunity Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition had by not simply just calling it Die Nasty Edition.

Very good, I've had lots of fun since picking it up. Create a Soul has become meme-worthy, you can do both very good and horribly awful things with it. Don't know what's bad with DBF, it's a good successor to MvC3.
 
I've been thinking about picking up QUBE2, but it looks like the price jumped back up to regular price today for me. I'm hoping this is just a bug, since Major did mention it on his list. Anyone else having similar issues?

Got the Borderlands Handsome Collection for some same screen co-op with the wife and Shadow of War with season pass. Was going to get it physical but I liked that it is play anywhere.

Ordered FFXV from BB and DQ11 - outside of any switch eshop deals I am done for a while buying shit. Like three weeks at least

I had Fallout finished overnight and it had another 48.39 gig patch waiting for me this morning. Looked it up and this isn't some weird installation error, the new patch is actually that big. Hopefully that isn't a normal thing, knowing Bethesda I wouldn't be surprised if massive re-downloads are an issued. I'm guessing the items in the Atom shop are going to work like Creation Club content on Fallout 4 and Skyrim, meaning every console player will have to download the files no matter what, but costumes and emote shouldn't take up too much space.

I guess I'm not playing until tonight.

 
Thinking about getting a new tablet for work trips, e-reader, offline movies, etc. and wondering what folks here would recommend. The iPad Mini 4 for $300 at BB seems like a good price, but I really hate managing content through iTunes and don't use a Macbook etc. Surprisingly, Apple has the lower cost/quality ratio than Samsung's Android tablets, at least from what I'm seeing currently.

I don't mind holidays per se but dear god do I hate 99% of Xmas music. It was playing at an outdoor mall 3 weeks ago while I was on a work trip, which is my own personal hell, esp. when they have the nerve to play it before Thanksgiving.

Wish I could get the GF hooked on Borderlands. I think with enough time I could but it's hard to find a game where she's specifically saying, "Can we play more of ________ tonight??" Sometimes I think I've found one and I'm wrong.

How dare you hate the two most American days in America?? The day where we overeat and buy too much needless crap we don't need! I'd go over there and give you a piece of my mind if I wasn't struggling to breathe from drinking all that gravy and waiting on Amazon Lightning Deals to eventually pop up.

I Use to work at Toys R Us for a longer period than one should tolerate and God, after every Halloween they would start the Christmas music. It's how I grew to just despise Mariah Carey and have Christmas season PTSD for the longest time until like two or three years later after quitting I finally got over it.

I like Christmas

people occasionally are nicer to each other, the Christmas lights are pretty, the music is nice, and Burt Reynolds'ing in front of the fireplace watching lame ass holiday hallmark type of movies feels alright

add in the luck of some snow and it's a nice change of pace for a few weeks
