Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.

BF purchases starting to arrive. 360 from GS (with the rebate) should arrive tomorrow, hoping it's not a POS. Microsoft Store sent me Wolfenstein II (couldn't say no for $12) very quickly.

iPad Mini 4 should be there after work. I usually never bother with Apple products, but this was wayy cheaper than comparable Android tablets.

I'm excited to play Mercenaries again! It was my favorite sandbox game in its day. You really can play it any way that you want. As for that, I'm SURE it doesn't hold up well :) but I'm up for a little free nostalgia!

And who wouldn't be?
In each section of the game there is an artifact to find that plays a real life video depicting the folklore and tradition surrounding the item or theme...the videos were pretty interesting and beautiful...I had taken a few screen shots that I used as my background for a good long while of them...

is it just used or "refurbished"? My old 360 S lasted a good 7 or so years until death...

I finally pull the trigger all these years on dragon age 2 and they gwg it

I will never learn

that's been proven nearly every month for years

although mercenaries is one of the few og games I didn't already buy so that's pretty cool

I found the background info extremely interesting, but boy, did that game ever play like hot ass, as far as I can recall.

Game wise this Black Friday All I got was...

:xb1: Evil Within 2

:3ds: BOXBOXBOY!

:3ds: BOXBOY!

:3ds: Dedede’s Drum Dash Deluxe

:3ds: Kirby Fighters Deluxe

:3ds: Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

:ps4: Bit Trip

:ps4: Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - Digital Deluxe Edition

:ps4: Runner3

:xb1: Injustice 2: Legendary Edition

:xb1: Fallout 4 - Season Pass

And waiting on my Dualshock 4, XBox One controller, Zone of the Enders 2nd Runner MVRS Edition, Monster Hunter World, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition and Hitman Definitive Edition to come in. Besides that I mostly just got books and movies this year.

I was so close on Dragon Age 2 myself. Glad I held out. It ususaly works the other way.

I got one on Saturday after having 3 employees friday tell me the deal was all weekend and then an employee on Saturday tell me how to get the rebate when I bought it. Returned it when I realized the rebate ended friday. I opened the box first and it had a crappy gamestop branded wired controller, the person that did the return was surprised it wasn't an official wireless controller. I'm guessing I just dealt with new seasonal employees until the person that processed the return, he seemed pretty frustrated that the person that sold it didn't even open the box to see what was inside. Also my fault for not reading the ad well enough.

You're welcome for my sacrifice

My Gamestop X360S is pretty nice; I've been playing Singularity on it (that game needs BC).  Also, I was shocked that I didn't have to physically mail anything for the rebate submission.  As long as the rebate shows up I'm 1000% satisfied with it.

Kinda dirty that MN announces a game that was on sale will be GWG a few hours after the sale ends lol.
it doesn't feel good when it happens to you but overall unless they just offer a bunch of arcade shit nobody bought a large chunk of subscribers are going to own just about every gwg 360 game by now anyway

I'm just happy for the people that get a free game they haven't purchased yet but of course it is a bit of a bummer to see that list every month knowing that I'm gonna have to kick myself in my own ass once or twice for something I know better about

Bethesda finally speaks. They're were a bit more apologetic on Reddit, the blog post sounds a bit more PR to me, but at least they're communicating. Two planned updates in the next two weeks, with plans to communicate better from now on.

These are the major features outlined, with unannounced fixes as well. Actual patch notes will be out soon too.

Dec 4th

-Stash increase from 400 to 600. They're saying the limiting factor is making sure going too high doesn't break anything.

-Boss enemies will be guaranteed 2 or 3 good drops when killed instead of being totally random.

-3 fixes for bugs related to the Cryolator, getting stuck in power armor, and spawning when encumbered.

Dec 11th

-quality of life stuff from PC

-SPECIAL respecing once you hit 50. One point per level.

-C.A.M.P. Placement on Login: Your C.A.M.P. will no longer be automatically blueprinted and stored if someone is occupying your location when you log into a server. Instead, you’ll receive a notification that your space is occupied. If you decide to find a new home for your C.A.M.P. on that server, it will be free to do so. However, if you don’t attempt to place down your C.A.M.P., you will be able to switch to a new server where that spot is vacant and your C.A.M.P. will be fully assembled and waiting for you.
-Bulldozer: This is a new C.A.M.P. feature that will allow you to remove small trees, rocks, and other obstructions so it’s easier to create and place your C.A.M.P. when and where you want it. You can also use the Bulldozer to clear these items from the surrounding area to make your C.A.M.P. feel more like home!

While the new features sound good, they are baby steps toward fixing the overall game. I hope they're priortizing bugs at least as highly as features for now. Bulldozer is basically one of the first mods that was made for Fallout 4, I don't see why they didn't have it already.

Cynical me thinks they had these fixes already done and only decided to speak about them now because the internet uproar was so bad. I imagine they have fixes for much of it that they are choosing when to rollout so it appears as though they are continuously working on it.

I'd wager that the majority of the studio got to take a bit of time off because of launch combined with the holiday weekend. Even with all the backlash, this communication a week ago would have shone through and might have tailed off the anger a bit.

I could also see them being ready to say something, but waiting because a lot of early adopters were upset about the Black Friday sales that (I think) are now over.

I got an E model. Hoping it would last longer as it was more recently made than the S model. Boy was it scratched all to hell, though. Maybe I'm just really picky, but I guess as long as it works. I seriously thought about getting 2 just to transfer GS credit to visa gift cards. In the end I didn't trust they would approve 2 rebates for me.

I bought a One S and got a 1 month code for game pass. Does it have to be used on a new account or can I save it for later after taking advantage of the $1 deal?

Off-topic but I know some of this thread was interested in the PS1 Classic.

On top of the questionable line up, they decided to use the European PAL versions of several games so they run at 50 or 25 FPS instead of 60 or 30. On top of that, performance is bad on several games, no up to the standard of the version on the original hardware.

Bear in mind that this is an offline-only device so it can't be patched, and releases in 6 days. They also made it so it can't be powered by a PC's USB 3.0 port, presumably to prevent hacking.

That's the gist for now, Digital Foundry has a full video in the works.

Both are for new subs only so it is one or the other, unless you create another account and game share that other month with.

Will be hacked in a week. Wasn't there news also about it being run through a homebrew emulator Sony didn't even make?

Question for all my fellow tcl peeps. So I gave in and bought a 55 inch 6 series was going to get the 5 series since it was cheaper but the extra bells and whistles spoke to me even tho I don’t have an x yet just my vcr model. So the 4K is pretty good I think I’m starting to get adjusted to it and I’ve barely touched any of the settings yet. My question is have any of you experienced the tv just randomly shitting off. First it started doing it the second day we had it well watching baywatch on prime. Now it turns off a number of times well watching direct tv. Sometimes it happens consistently other times I will be every couple hours or so. I tried researching it only found could be mother board. I don’t really see any settings about this. I did get it from Best Buy and I did get the 5 year warranty on it. I just don’t want to have to call them about it cuz I literally got the tv delivered on Friday. Anyone else experience this?

Off-topic but I know some of this thread was interested in the PS1 Classic.

On top of the questionable line up, they decided to use the European PAL versions of several games so they run at 50 or 25 FPS instead of 60 or 30. On top of that, performance is bad on several games, no up to the standard of the version on the original hardware.

Bear in mind that this is an offline-only device so it can't be patched, and releases in 6 days. They also made it so it can't be powered by a PC's USB 3.0 port, presumably to prevent hacking.

That's the gist for now, Digital Foundry has a full video in the works.

I Can't deny that this makes it easier and easier in making the Neo Geo Mini a worthy investment compared to this.

Question for all my fellow tcl peeps. So I gave in and bought a 55 inch 6 series was going to get the 5 series since it was cheaper but the extra bells and whistles spoke to me even tho I don’t have an x yet just my vcr model. No. I have not with mine- it's a great tv and you might have just gotten a lemon. See if you can exchange it

Will be hacked in a week. Wasn't there news also about it being run through a homebrew emulator Sony didn't even make?
Yeah- it's running RetroArch or another emu I think. It might be a worthwhile mini machine once the hackers get their hands on it and fix it. But I'm still rocking a modded PSP from my college years, so I'm set

Back on topic (meaning not relating to SNES/PlayStation stuff), I’m excited about the GwG for next month. I enjoyed the heck out of the first QUBE, which I got when it was down to like $2 or so thanks to some recommendations here, but I wasn’t too sure on spending much on a sequel, so I’ll be very happy to play it when December arrives. Never Alone also looks very cool. I’m not too excited for the 360/OG offerings per se, but I’m happy they’re doing OG games for Gold. Expands the choices for the future.

Finally got the last punch on the Game Pass punch card. The October games one was the hold-out. I ended up playing 5 different games (Split/Second, Lego Indy, Metro 2033, Shantae, Outlast) for an achievement or two in order to get the damn thing to count. I'm still having nightmares about Outlast (and Shantae).

The mini Nintendo consoles use the same ports as Wii classic controllers, so if you have one, they'd work great. The Classic Pro was pretty solid.

Forgot all about that, thanks. That makes tons of sense, and seems like it’d work well with any *ahem* less-than-legally-obtained games that are added to the system.

Yes, this happens. It started happening for me as well, but only a few months after owning it. If it's still within the return period, return it to Bestbuy. Otherwise, TCL will send a repair person to your home and replace part(s) depending on the symptom...although from doing my research it will always be refusing to turn on occasionally or randomly shutting off. Was advised to use the best surge protector in the house, and enjoy it for as long as it lasts...lol

I've had the 65 inch TCL 6 series since launch. I've never noticed the tv power off like you describe. I did have a bad problem with the tv showing a green screen, white snow, or an over/under saturation when switching signals. However, that issue seems to have been mostly fixed with a patch released for the tv around Nov. 4th

Final haul from the bf sale:

Sega classics, LEGO Star Wars Force awakens, 3 or so $2 BC games, shadow of Mordor, and I got ms chat to price match AC odyssey to their price in the local store at the mall near me ($30, he did it by putting $10 on my balance and making the purchase for me).

I wanted to go crazy with a few of the $10 and $5 games, lotta those LEGO games looked good, mad max, never played GOW so wanted part 4, but passed to save some balance for the sale next month.
