No issues with my 55” TCL P607 turning on and off like that. I’d be returning it in a heartbeat if it was within the exchange period. Love mine but am envious of those with the 65” 6 series!

On top of the questionable line up, they decided to use the European PAL versions of several games so they run at 50 or 25 FPS instead of 60 or 30. On top of that, performance is bad on several games, no up to the standard of the version on the original hardware.

Bear in mind that this is an offline-only device so it can't be patched, and releases in 6 days. They also made it so it can't be powered by a PC's USB 3.0 port, presumably to prevent hacking.

Glad I have a PSTV to play some PS1 classics. This thing sounds like crap. Sad that Sony would such little thought into it.

Oh dang! I have a Microsoft store in town, I should have tried the price match on Odyssey too! I ended up not buying it cuz seeing it for $30 and $27 physical kept me away from the $40 digital.
 
Still haven’t got my last punch and my Xbox rewards app is acting weird it had some pop up earlier that I don’t remember what it said and now it just popped up saying to go into my settings on my Xbox and change my location wtf.

Yep tn is right in that the download card was $30 in stores. Maybe still is? They weren’t aware until I asked for the price. So it only wasn’t worth buying with cash for me because I had already committed so much to my MS balance.

I had the $27 physical for no rush but cancelled, I like most of my games on my 5tb drive and didn’t wanna walk it back with such an anticipated game.

Hey folks,

So I live in a very remote part of the world with limited options. That said, I'm looking at one of two 4K TVs available to me, a 49" TCL (49S403) or a 50" 7 series Samsung (NU710D). I suspect these are not the latest versions in either brand, but honestly am just now looking into this and know very little about it. Looking at the outside of the box, they both say "HDR" but no mention of HDR10 or whatever the latest is. The Samsung is ~$125 more than the TCL. Both are "Smart TVs," not that that matters as I'll have it plugged into my Xbox for media anyways. 

Advice? Which would you all recommend? How many generations back are these, will I be disappointed with the HDR/functionality if I get an Xbox One X to go with it this year?

I played the intro for red dead online. It was quick and simple and I stopped playing as soon as I completed it but it looks promising. Hoping I enjoy it at least half as much as I enjoyed online in the first game, played a ton of that.

I need to go back to the single player before it gets sucked into the backlog. I got too many new games recently.

Phil Spencer once explained how BC on Xbox 360 has nothing to do on how it works now on XB1. So I wouldn't worry about that. Also, Mercenaries has been BC since April, pretty sure that at this point everyone would know if there are/were any issues with it.

I got that message too a few days ago. When I went into the settings, everything was set right. So I just backed out.

The snes controller works fine...the buttons are even patterned for the x square triangle circle ....no analog but most ps1 games don't even use analog

Jesus, I feel I need an achievement for my time spent playing achievement pick up while playing Guitar Hero Live before the servers go down. Not that it's a bad game, but the fact that I know there's a huge song library, but they keep putting the same songs on rotate over and over again. On the plus side, they got me into Lonely the Brave.

Can anybody recommend a good place to find legit Xbox 360 controllers? Preferred new but good condition used is also an option. GameStop refurb Xbox 360 dropped a horrible controller on me.

I Don't know how I feel about them, maybe if I listen to them in a non Guitar Hero setting? Also the lead singer at times reminds me too much of pro wrestler, "The Switchblade" Jay White. So randomly I just assume he'll say "Breathe with the switchblade!"

a microsoft brand 360 controller in good condition is a big ask these days. a vendor accepted my offer on a sealed controller at a local game convention for $25. do you have any shows or swap meets that take place near you? if not, the best i can recommend is using a search filter on ebay or try craigslist.

in related news, i just received an ebay purchase of 3 OG xbox s controllers new in bag for $68 (gutted from consoles). so stoked!

Went and saw The Dead South the other night, easily top 10 best shows I've ever been to. Sounded so good I thought they were playing to a track, blew my mind when the screwed up a bit. I highly reccomend going and checking them out if they're playing anywhere near you.

Tomorrow Studios - made Aquarius and Good Behavior. I've never heard of these shows, both lasted 2 seasons, one for NBC, one for TNT.

André Nemec - Co-wrote Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol and dumpster fire 2014 TMNT reboot movie and it's sequel.

Josh Appelbaum - seems to be same as Nemec

Jeff Pinkner - showrunner for Fringe through season 4. Co-wrote such gems as The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Dark Tower, Jumanji 2, and Venom

Scott Rosenberg - Biggest writing credits are Con Air and Gone in 60 Seconds. Seems to do a lot of script revisions. Co-wrote Jumanji 2 and Venom

​The through-line for these guys is the CBS show Zoo, which I've also never heard of. They co-developed it together. I've got to say this team isn't screaming confidence to me. I don't get the impression that they would be super into the source material or anime in general. Maybe if they bring actors that give a shit in. I know Keeanu Reeves was pretty interested for a while and was attached as Spike. I think he's probably too old to play a late 20's character like that, but I guess he could still work aged up.

If this thing is trash I kind of don't want Kanno to be associated with it. She's never worked on any Western projects as far as I'm aware, so they'd have to go out of their way to make it happen.

I agree with Craigslist and also suggest locally owned/operated used shops, since they tend to be pickier about not buying or selling shit that is half broken.

This is one giant benefit for BC, not having to worry about aging or hard to find controllers.

I have no doubt the Netflix live action version of Cowboy bebop will be complete garbage.  Ive never seen a live action adapation of an anime that turned out to be anywhere near as good as the source material.  I know i dont have to watch it but its like taking something you love and find beautiful and twisting into a pile of ozzing hate and ugliness when these things happen.  So I kind of wish they just wouldn't do this.

Also Gantz and the Rurouni Kenshin movies were all good. Same with Blade of the Immortal, but Speed Racer exceeded and destroyed the source material with just dazzling madness.

I vastly prefer to play games on the original hardware, but that controller issue is sooooo true. As the 80's and 90's become more and more of a distant memory, just having controllers that work are a godsend. It's almost to the point where I feel like you have to get used to some after market controller if you still want to play on the original hardware.

 
Anyone else have a bitch of a time with this weeks FH4 weekly Forzathon?  I tried a couple times over several days to hit 230 in a Super GT in the required speed zone.  220s all day long.  But couldn't hit 230.  Tried Steve the Pirates MB car. Couldn't do it.  Tried another tune that was slightly faster car and still couldn't do it.  Ran a few other races and tried one last time and hit 230.x

And to think I was bitching about 7,000,000 skill points!

The daily challenges are still pretty lame.  Many of them I can do in a few seconds.  

Still need to work on some more drifting.

Never seen Speed Racer, might have to give it a try. I didn't care much for the Bleach live action movie, and the American Dragon Ball movie was a dumpster fire.

 
Heard back from support, my purchase of QUBE 2 was deemed ineligible for a refund. Oh well, was worth a shot. Enjoyed the first game and the devs seemed nice when I talked to them at pax, so I so I don't mind paying the $12. Glad a lot of other people are getting it for free though.

There's a thread on the Forza forums approaching 100 posts complaining about that part of the weekly challenge. Took me a number of tries. I think I used the Aston Martin Vantage, but would need to double check the game to make sure. I think I hit 232 or 233 by coming from the west, starting past the traffic circle outside the city. Took a number of rewinds to get to the trap cleanly, trying to take the turns without losing too much speed as well as avoiding traffic and the train.

Finally hit 15m credits last night and bought the Edinburgh Castle, last house in the game.

Did 2 of the 3 seasonal championships. Not sure if I want to do the S2 one in the city, since the rewards are just credits. Looks like there's no seasonal PR stunt. Can never be sure, since there's some kind of bug that prevents it from always showing on the map, but there's none listed in the forums.

 
Hey folks, have a question about the Game Pass ticket for 5000 reward pts. I got all the required achievements for the ticket as of today, but it only shows two checkmarks instead of all of them. It supposedly takes a few days for the ticket status to be updated, so I can wait. Here's my question - if I fulfilled all the requirements before the deadline, what happens if the deadline passes and the ticket still isn't marked as complete? Do I lose out?
