Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

It's a little late... been playing with the kids' legos and other toys and helping cook and clean up dinner... but Merry Christmas CAG fam. Hope your backlog is a little fuller and that you don't shoot your eye out.

Don't want to go to work tomorrow. Spent this weekend playing my Playstation VR and Tetris and Beat Saber and now I'm afraid everything will be coming right at me.

Like my post to enter for a chance to win HOPIKO (X1) .

I'm not exactly rich right now but love to give stuff away to you sexy CAGers!

Xbox's refund support is absolute garbage. Decided I wanted to refund Dead Cells, it was within the two week time frame and I never even installed it onto my system. I marked it as an accidental purchase, submitted, then waited. After a few days, I got an email denying the refund request due to it not meeting the eligibility requirements. After reading a few comments on here about being denied the first time and resubmitting it a second time, I did that. Just got an email back about 45 minutes ago saying I was denied AGAIN.
Ask the Twitter account for an explanation.

You should call Customer support. It's how I got my refunds the two times I asked for one.

Rakuten has 20% off today via save20 code. Loadup on rakuten gifts sells gift cards for digital delivery. Just bought $50 for $40. Stacked with the MasterCard deal the other day, I got $150 of Xbox currency for $110, not bad.

It does indeed have Wolverine, but it plays much, much worse.
Come on, this is an overstatement. I can see liking certain aspects of Infinite's gameplay more, but the only real negative I see in 3 is some of the ridiculously dominating things high level players can do. Literally everything else is better in 3, from art style to presentation to roster.

Really if someone wants current gen MvC style gameplay they should get DBFZ.

Absolutely, 3 feels more complete right down to great music and even the epic opening animation. Infinite was stinky balls.

I got 15 bucks in my Microsoft wallet but I can’t pull the trigger on anything. Including Gamepass and GwG, I’ve got too much in my backlog. If I do anything I might buy a game that’s on Gamepass to show how much I enjoy the game. It’s either the Disney Park game or remastered Zoo Tycoon.
I try to only purchase DLC from now on. That way I never have to see a game I just bought being added to GWG or Game Pass. I've got plenty of games from these subscriptions so DLC seems like a better use of my Bing money. As a rule I never buy EA games either due to EA Access. It's always funny when someone is surprised that a game got added to the vault... news flash: EVERY EA game gets added to the vault eventually.

Has anyone played starlink that can give their opinion? I watched a YouTube video but would like an opinion from someone in this thread more.

Has ubisoft announced that anything is coming with the division 2 season pass? Their full price games are going to be less worth it if some season passes come without full game "remasters" while others do but cost the same.

The specific details for the Year One pass of TD2 have not been revealed yet, but it seems similar to the annual passes in Rainbow Six Siege in that you get one week early access to new content. You also get some customization stuff.

It is not a DLC pass; all DLC will be free to everyone that owns TD2.

Ahhh okay. Haven't looked into it at all. Looks like they're trying out different dlc models, know wildlands has something similar with their season 2 pass.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm is showing on Gamepass which is either weird or possibly not. I know the first game was added like last week but there wasn't any announcement about this one to my knowledge.

Today is my birthday and I wake up to my Pac Man alarm clock (which I got for Christmas) and the alarm is Pac Man music and sounds, I thought that was cool.

Today in games on my shelf that I totally forgot I bought and may one day eventually play (one day), Ridge Racer Unbounded on my Xbox 360!

Got an email from Microsoft with $5 in it today... Titled "Make the most of your new gifts" I clicked a tree with a bird in it and they gave me $5. It was just under a laptop and about 1/3 through the email.

I was just about to post the same thing. It’s weird I’m getting these emails on my non bing rewards and Xbox account email. I’ve been getting them on my old Xbox account email or an email I’ve used buying stuff from their website.

No, not for a second. I sincerely think that MVC3 is one of the worst things Capcom has ever done. You don't even have to go to high levels to find it's faults, just picking up the joystick and playing on a basic level reveals so many things wrong with it. From the high damage easy abc combos (which wouldn't be too bad on their own) to the removal of tech rolls which created so many easy and long OTG combos. The Team Aerial garbage, holding down a button to tag (why?!), assists having abusrdly long invincibilty after they attack (so you can't punish them, again why), the input leniency being so strong it feels like your fighting the controls and X-factor. We all know about X-factor. Don't like how it 'feels' (it legit runs better when there is only 1 character left on both teams), don't like how it's loaded with shit that counts as a hit even though it doesn't connect visibly on the screen, don't like how it's waaaaaaay to easy to exploit Dark/black characters blending in with the background (a problem in MVC2 that was taken to the extreme in MVC3). The entire game feels like someone who never played MVC2 tried to balance it around high level MVC2 play without context and realizing what made MVC2 and the CPS2 Marvel games so much fun to play.

I played it for a year and put that shit to pasture because I wasn't having any fun. Marvel Infinite is loaded with a ton of stupid shit as well but it feels far more like a 'real' Capcom fighting game and the revised tag system is neato torpedo.

I don't care about DB Fighterz personally, that game got stale real fast.

Looks like those emails are still going out, I just got it.

Also nice drop turbulenceEX, if I didn't already have it I would have gotten it.

Yeah, I guess I haven't put as much time into MvC3 overall to have all these thoughts. I put a LOT more time in to MvC2, and possibly even Tatsunoko vs Capcom, so I'm fairly aware the major differences, but a lot of the changes felt more like the kind of stuff that were preferences for one implementation over another rather than downgrades. Most of the stuff I don't like just kind of seem like they're part of the sub-genre of VS games.

Personally I like the updated roster that was representative of Marvel as a whole (rather than the sprite recycling that lead to so many X-Men for 2 or MCU only Infinite) and included best representation of Capcom franchises a VS game ever go. I can understand the readability complaints, but overall the presentation of the game, especially with the Ultimate upgrades, completely shits on Infinite. Even down to dumb minor stuff like the Super animations being worse. It's been said before but Infinite just feels like the only people working on it that gave a shit were the team behind the gameplay. Whether it was Capcom simply being cheap, negative influence from Marvel, or simply too short of a development window we'll probably never know, but I think the hard drop of the game so quickly by the majority FGC says a lot about the game, even if there are people that love the actual gameplay. SFxT might have been able to ride on SF4's success, but even though that game is generally not remembered that well it lasted longer with the community that MvCI.

I don't know if it's fair or not but only having one strong pillar (gameplay) holding mediocre to bad everything else just isn't enough for this genre, not with fighting games in general being fully resurrected and stronger than ever. There is just too much competition, and even if DBZ didn't stick with everyone I think it excels in pretty much all the areas the very similar MvCI fell flat, while also drawing in new players to the FGC with it's slightly simpler mechanics and new source material. Capcom feels like they've been coasting on their legacy with fighting games since Street Fighter V, maybe even SFxT. If anyone else would have put out something as bare-bones as SFV on launch it would have flopped hard, and I really don't think they did much better with MvC.

And we are talking about Capcom here, MvC3 is far from the worst things they've ever done. Neither of these games would crack the top 5, possibly even top 10;

Hmmm... Haven't gotten that one yet but have gotten all the other ones. Hopefully they're just rolling them out in waves.

Edit: And I literally got it three minutes later lol

Yep same with me, and I followed a link last week to make sure I’m signed up after not getting those other ones yet I’m still not getting them.

My other guess is that its tied to if you have any amount of credit already sitting in your account. I do have a little bit of money sitting in my account but haven't been getting these emails.

I don't think it's a money spent thing either. I've spent a lot this year on digital games and have received all the emails. Also have some money in my MS account.

Same here, I've spent a lot more than usual on Xbox lately and so far Microsoft has only sent me a lump of coal. Oh well.
Lets see, since Nov 1st:

Xbox one X

about 15 titles I converted from PS4 to Xbox (digital and physical)

over 100 hours in RDR2 alone

Bought a new headset for Xbox today

About to spend another $40+ today

MS: stiffs me on every email that others got $ from.. I used to get them, not since Nov 2nd though

AC Odyssey is fantastic, especially after playing RDR2, the pacing feels much better. I played for 3 hours and got from level 1 to level 6 and did a bunch of quests. 3 hours in RDR2 and I’d prob still be wandering the same woods I have been last time I played.
