Hmm, LiS: Before the Storm is on the Game Pass app too. Do we think that this is a mistake and I should run through it quick before they catch it, or is this as intended? If it’s the latter, it moves up the list but I’ll wait until I’ve finished some other GP games first.

That's $25 worth of credit in the last month they didn't feel I was worthy enough to get. Add that to the difficulty getting a simple refund and Microsoft is on my shit list. Hell, I got Gamestop Powerup points refunded to my account yesterday that was less of a hassle.

And Battlefront is worth it at the sub-$10 levels that we've been getting. Single-player is well-crafted and online is still fun sometimes. The people that play are the ones who have stayed, so they have the upgrades which make them ~20% better. But at least they're earned and not bought.

you take 2 guys that are really funny and have amazing chemistry and make a movie nobody on the planet wants or asked for

why waste time and money on something everyone knew was going to be shit before it even came out? just make a step brothers 2 and be done with it

it shows how millions of dollars and big pay jobs don't necessarily translate to smart choices

On a side note all the e-mails I've gotten with MS money in it have been from the Microsoft Store(physical store). Not bing, or xbox, or microsoft.com.... If people aren't getting them this might be a reason why.

What aspects were you interested in?
I got the digital deluxe version but wouldn't mind finding the arwing cheap somewhere or possibly just an arwing statue to go next to my Fox McCloud.

I thought it looked like a fun less stressful no mans sky or elite dangerous. I ended up watching an official ubisoft video after a let's play and did some googling to see if the deluxe edition is worth the extra $13ish. I folded last night and picked it up.
 
Is NFS Payback worth the $8? Every time I watch the trailer on the game page I think I would love it because of the Burnout Takedown-inspired sequence but I'm worried that's not how the whole game plays.

Used to my $5 email from MS towards Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Believe it or not, it’s my first MvC game. I’m not sure I like the whole 3 fighter tag team thing.

Used to the normal one on one fighters and not sure I even understand why sometimes another character comes out at the same time as you have someone else on the screen when I never asked for them to come out.

I know. I’m weird. 😃

I’m sure I’ll learn to like it.

Lol naw man it's just I was thinking most people under 40 could probably care less about Sherlock Holmes being the subject of a comedy. Plus older comedians begin to lose touch with the younger markets.
 
I don’t think a Sherlock Holmes parody was a bad idea. It just takes good writing to make it work. Unfortunately doesn’t sound like this had it.

E3 they had that Cuphead DLC announcement with new playable character. So probably that version with DLC will replace the normal version out now and they'll do a physical release of that is my best bet.

 
I'm sad I didn't buy Nier Automata for $33 during the black Friday sale. I assumed it would be on this sale, so I waited. I guess I'll just wait it out.

My girlfriend likes Ferrell comedies, so I bought her 2 tickets for her and a friend this Saturday so I wouldn't be dragged into that crap. This was before the reviews came out, and now her friend doesn't really want to go. Now I'm going, and dreading it. I really fucked that up...

Fandango had refunds no questions asked right up to movie time. That said, GL on that one...take some NyQuil. 😁

Also..as someone who didn't play the previous 3 Gears...do I need to before playing Gears 4? That $5 credit from last night's email is burning a hole in my account.

I would absolutely play through the campaigns of 1-3 before 4.

Soul Calibur. It has two seperate story modes. One official story that focuses on a some main characters then has smaller one offs for all other characters except 2B and presumably the other DLC characters. The other mode is a lengthy RPG influenced mode that you create a custom character for

Tekken has basically the same concept as SC's official story, but the voice acting of the narrator and writing is so laughably bad that it detracts from most of the good sequences that are there.

Other than that they both have Arcade modes, and character customization, but SC's is blows Tekken out of the water in that department.

SCVI is Xbox One X enhanced if that matters. Tekken 7 is still sitting on a noticeable 720p, Harada said back in February that it is difficult to make an X enhanced version for engineering reasons, which I don't really really understand since both games are on Unreal Engine 4.

It is set like 20 years after Gears 3, and the main characters are new, so it is a viable entry point. There are a lot of references to the old games as you get farther in, but you should be fine for the most part. You would just get a bit more enjoyment from some of the stuff that does show up. The only thing I see being lost on a new player would the stuff about the enemies later on in game.

 
Does EA Access still go on sale all the time like it used to? It might be partially because I haven't paid attention in forever, but it feels like I don't see it on sale much anymore.

Tekken. Still kind of marvel how they managed to work Akuma in to the Tekken lore how they did. The theater mode where you can go back and watch all of the intros and endings from every previous Tekken game is awesome as well.

That said, Tekken is sitting at 720P, and it can be noticeable at times. Pretty disappointing in the visuals department.

It's been on sale through Newegg promo emails, usually for $25 for a year. I haven't checked to see if it's been on sale recently though.

 
Really weird thing happened. I redeemed that free $10 from MS on my main account but when I tried to redeem another $10 email from my alt account it did not let me saying the code was used. I just noticed that the $10 code from my alt account was applied 2 days later to my main account.

I also did not play any of them, and I dug 4. Maybe ignorance is bliss? I'm sure playing the previous ones would add nuance and whatnot, but I didn't want to take the time.

Just finished the campaign... it was short and not all that engaging, pretty hollow but I guess they it was something okay if you’re reeeally into anything in the SW universe...probably worth the 7.50 but not by much imho...
