I got a pretty good haul. Not a lot of quantity but quality. I finally got around to getting Far Cry 5 gold edition. I thought the last two Assassins Creed games looked great but Far Cry 5 is gorgeous. I know they usually screw up with the villain towards the end but they start off so well. Thanks to that email from Microsoft I was able to get the Bioshock collection. I never got far with Infinite but I loved the first two but I was surprised how in awe i felt entering Rapture like I did when it was first released.

Man... I watched Daddy's Home 2 a few days ago... thought it was hilarious

on another movie note... Those with Netflix and fans of Black Mirror like I am... apparently they just released a 90 minute audience driven episode. You sit and make decisions as the show goes on. Can't wait to get into that one

Anyone else having trouble accessing fortune island in FH4?

I have played it already. Tried to travel to it today. Tells me I need an update. Sends me to the store which allows me to download an update but still doesn't open.
 
Yes! I got out of it! She wasn't that excited after I showed her more H&W trailers, and Fandango did refund the tickets. It's a Christmas miracle! 😁
 
Got some time in the Pubg test server with the new winter map last night. Holy crap is that awesome! Easily the best map since the original, and the weather effects were amazing. And snowmobiles. SNOWMOBILES! So fun. A great game if you actually play it instead of just crapping on it.

Daddy’s Home and the sequel are awesome. Have you watched “The Other Guys”? it’s another Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg movie and is very overlooked.
 
AC Odyssey is my new favorite AC game. I picked Cassandra to play as, I just got past Act 1, the map is huge! My wife was watching me play it last night and was pretty entertained too. I did a side mission with Sharks in the first area and she was laughing at me cuz Im terrified of sharks in real life so having to deal with them in a game means lots of yelling from me.
 
Did anyone(everyone?) already receive the winter of arcade promotional credits?

I purchased 3 of the games (more if you include the preview program which I know they don't) but haven't seen anything on my account yet.

I haven't yet either I bought 3 games also but I believe the fine print said up to 60 days later to receive the credits

 
I'm sure these are the same thing, but in the description for the Forsaken Complete Collection, it says it "includes a character boost that allows you the option to immediately catch up and play the latest content right away" whereas the Forsaken Legendary Collection says it "includes an instant level 30 character boost that allows you to play Forsaken right away".

Again, I figured it's the same but was hoping someone could confirm. Just odd that they would word it differently.

I've got a cluster of them for my various consoles and PC. They are an excellent buy for the money. The male connectors and cables are well made. Image quality is solid at 4k with HDR.

No issues with any of them so far.
 
So sort of game related but not. Just finished watching Black mirror’s Bandersnatch episode on Netflix and it was awesome. It’s interactive and is basically a choose your own adventure story. It has 5 different endings and some funny choices. Highly recommended.

What's the deal with these Amazon 4k HDMI cables? Do they provide a better picture quality or something from the normal HDMI cables included with an Xbox or playstation console??

I can’t say 100% but I’m almost positive they are in fact the same thing. I got the Forsaken add-on pack as a gift (already owned D2 vanilla and expansions) and it allowed me (and game share person as well, if that helps) the ability to use 1 instant level 30 upgrade. Just beware that the upgrade symbol shows up next to all 3 of your characters (if you’ve made them previously) until you use one, then when you click on it for character 2 it prompts you to pay some ridiculous amount to get another booster (any amount of money to Bungie these days is kind of ridiculous but I will admit the game is a lot more fun that it was in Year 1).

Thanks for the info. The more I look into this I don't think I will bite. With the first Destiny, when they put out the complete edition or whatever it was called that boosted your character you could start the game as a total badass at level 30 and play through everything. On this one it locks you out of everything prior to Forsaken if you use it so the boost is useless in that regard. That really sucks that they changed it.

Of course if you've already played through with one character I guess I see the appeal, but why would anyone pay for the base game and all expansions only to make pretty much all of it unplayable when using the promoted boost?

Really no difference in picture quality, however the Amazon cables are a bit thicker and can be installed in walls. They are quite durable.

In my case I buy 3-10 feet HDMI cables for a cleaner fit in my entertainment center.

it's best to use the cable that comes with the system. they are rated to handle the output capabilities of that system.

generally, there are 2 classes of hdmi cables - standard and high speed.

 
For someone like me who hasn't touched any of the Life Is Strange games, since both are on in the GP, which one do I start with? Before the Storm is a prequel so technically first one to go for, right? I know they came out in opposite order.

While you might think that would make sense, I would only play these in the order they came out.
 
Anyone here have a significant other that kind of blows at giving gifts? Or more aptly drives you crazy with their gifts? My girl signed me up for 3 months of "Bacon of the month" club. Hey I like bacon so that is cool. Then I find out she paid $90 for them to deliver 3 1lb packages of bacon the next three months. Sure they try to dress it up with a magnet and some recipes and "bacon stories" but man my jaw was kind of on the floor. I said nothing though because I am not a monster but it is driving this cheapass a little mad. This better be the best dam bacon in the world.

They finally made it official, could’ve gave some warning but thankfully I’m a procrastinator cause I was finally about to buy it at 7.50.

Probably will be GWG in the future anyway.
 
Monoprice is my go-to for cables. I've been trying to get my PS4 to work with my soundbar through ARC and the first cable I used didn't work at all, no idea where it came from. Cable can make a difference, but if you're paying more than $5 for under 10' you're doing it wrong.

Hey I like bacon so that is cool. Then I find out she paid $90 for them to deliver 3 1lb packages of bacon the next three months. Sure they try to dress it up with a magnet and some recipes and "bacon stories" but man my jaw was kind of on the floor. I said nothing though because I am not a monster but it is driving this cheapass a little mad. This better be the best dam bacon in the world.

My brother at age 19 gave my Mum a bag of Liquorice for her 50th birthday, she was not too happy lol.

Finally got around to doing the Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and the points were added straight away, a lot different to the last one. I hear there are supposed to be more, but I only see the Warhammer one.

Also, no email for me for $10 xbox giftcard, is it only for America?

 
With BtS on Game Pass, I suppose I will start Life is Strange over here soon. Played through the first episode over a year ago and never came back to it.

Speaking of gifts, I got my GF a 3DS (New 3DS, non-XL) since she has been playing my old DS and loving it, along with Pokémon Sun. I was worried she wouldn't be head over heels for it, but I've actually never seen her so excited about something.

It has been on my XBox's dashboard for weeks. I grabbed 6 months and it is still there. Also if you go to microsoft.com and search for Game Pass and then select 6 months it might show up. Seems it might be a targeted promo though.

Wonder what it is about the CL3 rated cables that give better results? Perhaps b/c a diff insulator is used to meet CL3 burn spec?

Just make sure to turn OFF auto renew, pretty sure it only shows up then. And you can at least do 18 mo ths at that price. I did 12 and do have the option for another 6. (I already had 1 year when i did the 6 month x2)

Yeah unfortunately it is 1lb of bacon a month for 3 months. So like $30 per 1lb package. I will get over it because her heart is always in the right place but for comparison I got her tickets to 4 symphonies and a symphonic showing of Harry Potter 7 Part 2 in June. Plus all 8 HP movies on Blu-Ray.

I did also get a new metal D&D dice set and a pair of slippers so those were cool.

 
Is it possible to gift 6 months of gamepass to myself and redeem it later? Or can I only extend current sub? I want to tackle some of my backlog before I do more gamepass
