You've got to factor in the recycling as well. Dormammu was playable in MvC3 as well so his moveset and animations were already ready. I think they reused the same model as well. They did remake some models like Captain America, but others were pretty obviously just imported, like Chris Redfield. Aside from the totally MCU Marvel roster, you have weird choices on the Capcom side as well. Like only having 2 new Capcom reps, or the return of Bionic Command reboot-designed Spencer. Even on the new characters there is recycling. The majority of Gamora's animations are reused from different MvC3 and Tatsunoko vs Capcom characters.

I would love to know the details on MvC:I, and why it's budget was presumably so low. If it was hampered due to Marvel, if Capcom saw it as a way to make a quick buck, whatever. I'm glad Capcom has shifted the guy who was in charge of Monster Hunter over to fighting games now, hopefully he can bring them up to the standards of the rest of their current games. An MCU focused MvC could be the biggest game the series has ever seen.

I'd be fine w/ some deep-cut characters (Bionic Commando, Sir Arthur, Gamora) being locked in the beginning and there as fan-service, kind of like how MVC2 initially required satisfying requirements to unlock characters (and Smash always has). It gives incentive to work towards goals in games that otherwise wouldn't have a ton of content or to go through things like story modes.

I forgot Dormamu was in MVC3, that makes me less annoyed about it, but still. And, the original fighters had some obscure characters (Blackheart, for example) who wouldn't be recognized by a casual audience.

Mostly I guess I just want MVC: I to be better than it is.

Where it says the 2 week trial beside the purchase button, can you click on that and bring up a pull down menu? I was confused as well earlier today when I signed up as it kept wanting to do the 14 day trial. I didn't know that there was a drop down box there to select which deal I wanted. I could pick the 3 month option there and it worked okay.

I remember playing Marvel Super Heroes and MVC2 in the arcade and specifically picking Blackheart and Shuma Gorath not because I knew who they were, but based off their looks alone. It wasn't until much later and geekier in life did I learn who they were. But i feel that the Marvel side of the MVCI roster is pure panhandling to the MCU fan. Personally, i can't stand Gamora in games. Her design just never sits right with me. Same with Mohawk Captain Marvel. I would have loved at least a little bit of MVC2 or older throwback characters added in. Which is why I loved Venom's addition, albeit behind a DLC price.

I have too many digital games. I admit that because destiny 2 that is my constant I start up games and find myself dabbling in them for a few minutes. If a game requires a long cutscene to begin the campaign, I usually bail before it’s over (I can’t just skip crucial information) and skip to another game. I still shop the sales and often after leaving a game I peruse the current sales looking for new games. I fantasized yesterday about when I was a kid and I legit had one nes or Atari game at a time and I would fully involve myself in it. Maybe I could live that way again....maybe. I am a cag.

If you played around October, they had removed HDR support (because it's a little broken) and the game looked really dull. But they re-implemented HDR about a month after due to community outcry.

I'm curious if it is listed as "new" because changes are coming, like HDR getting fixed, or if it's just a mistake.

I just beat Voodoo Vince Remastered last night, and can't really recommend it. While the humor and music are good, this is a platforming game with camera issues. The last stage in particular was rough since you're making blind jumps without knowing where a floating hammer or obstacle is. Very frustrating.

KF2 is very good. If you like COD Zombies you'll definitely have a blast for a while with this one. That's really the only one worth it on your list.

I don't neccesarily have an problem with Spencer and the like being included, just the fact that they went with the hotdog arm design that everyone hates over the much better classic costume that was DLC in 3.

The old games had cool, weird picks because Marvel was much smaller at the time, so they could basically have whoever they wanted, with the heavy X-Men focus thanks to the roots of the series with Children of the Atom and X-Men vs Street Fighter.

I just heard back from Microsoft Rewards and they said the reason why I might not have the 500 points and double mobile points is because I did not follow the link. Apparently, if you just go and download it from Google or Apple store you won't get the offer. Which is stupid because how are you supposed to follow a link on the Xbox?

Something interesting about the recently released Konami Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection is that the game does not offer region select options, so we're getting the North American versions of the games.  Some of the things that vary from the Japanese versions are difficulty levels, titles, and graphic changes.  However, Xbox users can download the Japanese version after buying the NA version and changing region.  This is a pretty big bonus over the Steam/PS4/Switch release.  This may also apply to the upcoming Castlevania/Contra collections.

Not sure if this will help but I've found a couple of games that seem to be coded on the low end of HDR intensity and brightness (RDR2 and ESO). For me, if I have my TCL 6 Series set to Dark/Movie HDR (like every website recommends), then these games look slightly washed out and the HDR seems dull compared to other games. If I change the setting to Normal HDR things start to look better, but this setting needs a lot of fine tuning to get colors and gamma correct.

I just wish I had some professional test equipment to compare the settings

Seems really unlikely. Supposedly the graphics have been downgraded by recent patches (ambient occlusion/lighting) but I haven't played in a while to confirm.

That's cool I'll have to look into that. I hope they patch the game to fix the bugged out menu selection sometime soon. Was severely disappointed when I saw this first collection was made by Hamster, aka the ACA Neo Geo people and Arcade Archives people on both of the other systems. They run fine and all that, but if they do Contra and Castlevanina collection those achievement lists are going to be such generic garbage. Was just hoping for some fun stuff besides, beat the game, or get this score.

Shouldn't matter. My GP expired on the 16th and I renewed using the offer earlier today.

Give MS a call and see if they'll honor it. A while back, I received a $1 gold/month offer for new members and the rep verified it was sent to my system even though I wasn't new and gave it to me. I just informed the rep that I clicked on the offer but it wasn't giving me the promo that was showed.

When I did the double points thing for using the app, I had to enter my phone number on the website for them to text the link. Then click the link which opened the App store and download from there.

Chroma Squad is available on iOS and Android for $5. I don't think it's ever gone on sale for less than that but maybe it could in the future?

I know not everyone is into gaming on phones. But personally I'd rather spend an extra dollar later, when I'm actually in a mood to play it, instead of adding it to the backlog now and maybe never getting around to it.

Backlog got a game lighter as I just beat borderlands goty. Game ran great but screen tearing was pretty bad imo. Overall fun. Now to put it back on the shelf and jump back into sekiro

Has Condemned gone on sale since it went backwards compatible? Would love to rebuy that game digitally but not going to spend $20 on it. I have it on disc so it's not a huge deal but I love the game and would love to have it added to my digital collection

As far as I know, so long as you're in the preview program (and have the option to test Ultimate - might wanna make sure) and add sub months BEFORE hopping into the Ultimate test, you should be good.

For me, if I have my TCL 6 Series set to Dark/Movie HDR (like every website recommends), then these games look slightly washed out and the HDR seems dull compared to other games. If I change the setting to Normal HDR things start to look better, but this setting needs a lot of fine tuning to get colors and gamma correct.

I just wish I had some professional test equipment to compare the settings

While I'm sure you can tweak the appearance to some degree, there's no real way to make it work right with TV settings because it's so broken it isn't HDR at all. What sucks more is that you can't turn it off in-game, the only way to get rid of it is to globally disable HDR in your Xbox settings (which of course disables it for every game until you turn it back on). Even a patch that lets you turn it off in the game instead of messing with your system settings would be helpful. This YouTube video has more technical detail.

Seems like the only winning move is not to play the game.

I played through is on XBox One X. Not sure what I was missing but the game seemed fine on my TCL P605.

Still trying to decide what to get from the sale. I've got 15 to blow, and need some advice between:

DB FighterZ (I love a good fighting game)
DB Xenoverse 2 (I love a game that is continually getting support)
A collection of 360 games:Asura's Wrath, Blue Dragon, and Beautiful Katamari (all wonderful niche games)

Please help

I’d go with DB Fighterz over Xenoverse 2 personally. As I mentioned earlier, I consider it to be the best fighter this gen so far.
 
It's happening, obviously at least one new element with Cap's shield. I would guess it is probably a weapon on top of shield. Hopefully there are some cosmetics this time.
