Oh I wouldn't worry; I was hyped to play and got somewhere in the second act I think before just being bored to tears. I really should get back into it but man, there's just no replacing John as lead for these games.

 
Ugh, the Xbox Microsoft Rewards app is not tracking achievements I have earned the last two days. I’m trying to complete the weekly quest, get the free 50 points, and the Gears 5 quest for 500 points and am stuck. Anyone else have this issue lately? Deleted and reinstalled the Rewards app but no luck.

have you unplugged it and tried? it's a different restart when the power isn't cut off completely

also try signing out and signing in manually while resetting

Welcome to the club! xbdeals.net is my favorite tracking tool since storeparser doesn't seem to work like it used to. Also sign up for bing rewards and link it with your xbox account to earn points to help with purchasing games and whatnot while basically giving up your soul and life to keep that streak going. Someone mentioned the obvious gears, halo,forza and ori I will add Ryse: son of rome, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Void bastards, Halo Wars,Fable games (360), The Orange Box (360) Shadow Complex remastered, Cuphead, Super Luckys Tale, and the Rare Replay. I'm sure I missed a ton of games but just looking through my achievements those are some of my suggestions.

Ugh did it to me too last night was about to complete my 30 week streak to get 2500 bonus rewards points earned 3 achievements in forza 7 and only counted 1 of them

The BC count for Original Xbox games is pretty low, only 41. I'd say the most important stuff to check out would be Ninja Gaiden Black and the Knights of the Old Republic games, if you won't play the superior versions of KotOR on PC (due to widescreen support and especially the restored content mod for 2). Beyond that most of the BC Star Wars games are worth checking out, Jade Empire if you liked Bioware when they were good, and maybe BloodRayne 2, Hunter the Reckoning, and SSX3 if they look interesting.

Probably the only "hidden gem" on the list is Panzer Dragoon Orta.

The 360 has a lot more options, so you may want to narrow it down a bit more for us as far as genres you like or dislike. The obvious recommendations if you're new to Xbox would be Halo and Gears, of which the entire mainline series is available on GamePass. Alan Wake is still console exclusive and that's worth checking out. Lost Odyssey is good, a classic JRPG from the creator of Final Fantasy. Viva Pinata 1 and and 2, which are on Rare Replay with some other decent stuff before Rare got trapped on the Kinect. Mass Effect and Dragon Age are absolutely worth looking into if you didn't play them elsewhere, as are Dead Space 1 and 2, all of which are on EA Access or go on sale often.

I won't say there aren't hidden gem 360 games that are BC, but a lot of the ones I'd list didn't make the cut, stuff like Binary Domain or Nier.

I know nothing about gears but just set up a quick arcade match w bots to 50 and got an achievement called Beginners something and got my 500 points that way

If anyone is on the fence for Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition right now.  I know Xbox's digital store has a deal on it, but Amazon has the physical copy(plain FFXV disc w/ code) for $9.99 right now.    So it's about about $7-$8 cheaper to grab the physical version.

Gamestop printed my shipping label for my new X on Tuesday and it hasn't gone out yet. I get wednesday was a holiday but I'd rather get the tracking number when the carrier has it. It's such a tease.

I think gamegirl mentioned it but this is the one piece of content not included in the Royal Edition. I thought it was on sale but it looks like it price dropped it to $5 a month back, and it's actually 50% off on PS4 and Steam but not here on Xbox.

Two other things to note.

  • This DLC is part 1 of 4 of a second season of DLC that was cancelled, which were going to lead to a new ending. Parts 2-4 are being converted to book, Final Fantasy XV: The Dawn of the Future, that won't be available in English until June.
  • There were recently a few mini-games added that are somehow exclusive to Stadia for now, with no confirmation that they'll be added to the other platforms. They aren't a big deal, but a lot of people were upset as this came well after the DLC team was dissolved for not being seen as profitable or whatever.
 
Oh Mylanta... Modern Warfare if the most beautiful game I've ever played :)  Not sure if it is blowing me away because its the first game I've played on my new Q70, but it sure is sexy.

 
You know, I enjoy gaming on my PS4, but holy shit I am grateful that the XBox One controller doesn't have that touch pad. Playing games that are face button intensive it is easy to just slightly tap it and it goes to an option screen or map or whatever. That and barely any games make any use of it so it's just a giant asshole button.

Also on the note of games, all 17 of my GameStop buy 2 get 2 games have shipped. You hear that backlog?? We are even more fucked!

Many websites have recommended settings that will get you in the ballpark. Never choose Vivid mode, go with Normal or Movie. No matter which you choose, make the color temperature Warm and adjust the contrast down to 90. This will get your colors close to correct and fix some clipping in bright white scenes. Local dimming should be on high. Turn on game mode. TCL 6-Series can get somewhere around a 16ms response time in this mode. For darker rooms put the backlight around 23.

For HDR content, the TV needs different settings than I listed above. Dark HDR will give you better shadows and color but much lower brightness and less HDR wow. Normal HDR gives a nice brightness pop but crushes low end shadows and needs color tuning. For both settings make Color temperature Warm, Contrast 100, local dimming on high, and Backlight 100.

The Roku app for phones has a menu to change expert settings on the TV. Leaving the gamma setting at 2.2 is pretty safe for all modes. DO NOT COPY White Balance or Color space numbers from any website. Every TV is different. I've done 2 TCL 6-Series TVs that needed opposite numbers. You need a calibration disc to really take advantage of this menu

I'm still testing things out but it looks like Xbox gets along better with TCL 6-Series TVs when you check off "Allow 4:2:2" in the Xbox video settings. On the TCL you must go to input settings and change Hdmi from Auto to 2.0

In the thousands and thousands of hours I've spent playing my ps4 I've never once accidentally hit that touch pad.

It's worth nothing the Comrades DLC servers are closed because Squeenix sucks almost as much as EA.

I had the problem with spiderman where I kept wanting to open the map using start, and then it wasn't that so i'd press the other button and end up recording a clip before I finally got back to hitting the touchpad. Just give me a normal sized Select button, I don't feel more immersed by swiping the touchpad to turn a page in Detroit.

 
Why does Microsoft give you Hell for a refund? Bought a digital movie and only to realize I owned it in Movies & TV already, Reached out on chat and told them what happened. I was told it was only purchased once on their end. I said yes cause the movie I got the 1st time was part of a bundle, After 30 mins of her saying the same line over and over I told her why make things so hard over $7.50? She responds by I need to call a number she types in and have my account pulled up cause this might be caused by a glitch on their end. I asked why and she didn't respond after 40 mins of no response I close the window. I guess I own 2 digital copies now.

I got hacked last year and dude spent maybe $6 on credit before I knocked him out. Spent an hour going back and forth before they said they'd need a whole lot of personal info like contacts in my email address book, the names and subjects of emails and some other shite. I told them that was beyond inappropriate and I'd save my friends the grief by eating the loss. But then I've had them give me zero issues on others so I have no clue

What are you trying to say? Comrades is a standalone game now. If you owned it before, you own the new version of it. Square didn't shut the game down. It's just a separate file from the main game now, which is great since the main game is 80-100GB.

But when they spun Comrades off to its own game, they shut down the ability to play it in FF XV. So if you didn't get all the mode's achievements before the spin off, you can't complete FF XV's achievements.

Lucky bastard. Well I figured out my issue with HDCP errors, I guess I didn't power cycle my soundbar. Did that and it fixed. I was getting damn close to returning the bar and going back to the normal 5.1 one.

Does Disney+ work in Atmos for anyone? Everything else seems to be working but that.

The original DLC version of it that was part of the game is what I was referring to. It's still playable on Win10 but not Xbox One.
 
OMG!  I've been trying to play Just Cause 3 this morning because I want to enjoy all the mayhem, but it's forcing me to do a stupid tutorial with the grappling hook.  I really want to stick with this game before I delete it, but I hate forced tutorials in games.  SMH.

 
Elder Scrolls Online players: what DLC should I buy if I want all the DLC released so far? I have a disc copy of the base game (plus digital on game pass) and already have the Morrowind DLC. There’s like 5 different versions on sale right now of all the dlc. Trying to figure out the CAGest way to buy all the DLC in this sale. Thanks for anyone who can help!
 
I've been playing Lonely Mountain Downhill, thanks to our lord and savior, and that game is odd because once it asks me to put effort into the game to unlock things like new trails and outfits, I immediately feel turned off. All I want to do is dick around and take my time getting down the mountain and not feel pressured, but once the game tries to challenge me. I'm in no mood.

Even though I own it with steelbook for $4, it still amazes me that this is a game that came out less than a year ago from Bioware and has already hit under $10 several times within the last few months. Just...yowzas.

I personally like it, but I don't mind repetitive tasks in games. The load times make me want to punch a baby, though.

Also, it's included in EA Access for free, so if they still have those $1 a month codes for that, it's a much better deal, as it comes with Anthem and 78 other EA games to play.

I like this idea. Cheaper, get to play more games and if you don't like them you're out the buck or two and not stuck with a potentially dead game in 2 months

I don't have a PS4, as I just use a xbox, but figured I would offer them up here first before I just code drop them as this is one of two threads I follow. Your best bet is to buy the full Elsweyr edition (not the upgrade) even though you already have the base game. It's on sale for $20 on Xbox Live and it gets you Elsweyr, Morrowind, Summerset, and the base game. These are the best and most fleshed out DLCs and will give you tons of quests, but there is still a LOT of DLC not included. There are additional dungeons that require you to buy ESO Crowns to unlock.

You used to be able to get the physical version of ESO Gold Edition for around $5 to get 4 other pieces of DLC (Imperial City, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, and Orsinium) and trade in the disc, but people are reporting that those DLC cards are expired now. I think you have to buy ESO Crowns for these now as well. Crowns are currently on sale on Xbox Live.
