On topic, I'm going to publicly pat myself on the back for clearing three games from my backlog in the last week. Sure, two were Telltale games and the other was Duck Tales, but baby steps, people! And by the way, Batman may be my second fav TT game now, while Game of Thrones is in the last slot, though I enjoyed it. Game of Thrones spoiler talk below:

I actually enjoyed the story quite a bit, but as the season crept along I became disenchanted by the fact that Mira and Gared's stories had no real effect on what was going on in Ironrath. It wasn't enough to make me dislike the game; but it's enough to put the game behind Tales from the Borderlands, Batman, Wolf Among Us, TWD 1, and TWD 2, all of which I loved.

The Ironrath stuff was great. I guess I didn't expect that the story would truly branch, but since so much was going on, I feel like in this game you're more cognizant than in the other games that what you choose to do doesn't really matter that much. Felt very on rails.

I don't see it that way at all. Most of the people in the football talk or that were bickering among each other in the last thread are regulars that most of us recognize. Depends for me, but there are definitely games that I reserve for when I have two-three hours or more available. I don't bother loading up something like a Bethesda RPG unless I can really get some shit done, for instance. That's why I play Overwatch so much, haha...perfect for playing something for a half hour or so.

Okada vs Omega is one of the best matches I've ever seen. I'm sure Triple H (I'm sure Vince would take a ton of convincing) would love to have either in WWE, but I don't see them leaving Japan unless it's for an insane amount of money. It's also good that Naito is getting some more love this past year.

This is slightly relevant to video games because I'm sure you could create them in WWE 2k games, yes?

 
So out of random I decided to play something from my 360 backlog and start Driver: San Francisco. Holy fuck. The game is stupid fun so far.

closedsocket is right. Hands of Fate and Banner Saga 2 were great picks. I really liked Hands of Fate and only stopped playing when I strangely kept getting a "Do you own this game or app?" message for a month straight. By the time it was sorted out, I was on to other things.

I closed out 3 games out of the backlog and because I was out of memory. NBA 2k17, Madden 2k17, and death trap. I had fired it up and I'm not interested in a cheapy tower defense game. Now only 139 more to go.

Curious, anybody watch eSports? I watch em and it improves my game - or you know enjoy a game I could never compete in. It's also the other way. Ever since I've watched and paid more attention in Premiere League, European football, this year my FIFA game has gotten better and I've enjoyed gaming more. So yeah, the world isn't binary. Speaking of 1s and zeros, 1 point in-between Giants Packers game! Finally, a good game this weekend.

Do any of you guys play Disney Infinity 3.0? We bought the game and a ton of the stuff getting cleared out before Christmas. That game has a lot of fun stuff if you have young kids! My sons and I played for like 5 hours yesterday just in the toy box. They were laughing and having so much fun driving Darth Vader in Bing Bongs wagon and using Dory to inflate enemies.

Now that all this is so cheap, I highly recommend it to any of you with young children.

So i got DR4 and traded it, just couldn't get into it, felt like a crappy clone of the series. Tempted to get the triple pack, which of the 3 has online co-op, and is it campaign co-op?

Life was strange was good I enjoyed it. If you guys haven't checked out lies of asterhoth it's a free card game. It's pretty fun. Simple to learn but hard to master. It's kinda like Pokemon in the sense that you have to collect cards and level them up. Kinda like magic in the sense that it takes strategy/skill to build your deck. The actual card battle it's self is basically picking which card at the right time against the other player. I reckoned it if you like card games. Lots of rare achievements but some of them would be lots of grinding. Getting your character to level 100 and beating the dungeon level 100 would take forever though.
 
Lies of Asterhoth and Gems of War refuse to start up when I open em. Don't know if it has to do with them being f2p, but neither of em work for me. Boots me back to the dashboard. Any idea for fixes? I do like both those games

2 and Off The Record both have co-op, for their entire campaigns. 2 originally had a minigame based versus, OTR has a freeplay mode with a ton of challenges to compete in. The online was janky on 360, tons of connection and sometimes saving issues, don't know if they work better in the Xbone port.

Haha, well I have fun playing it with them so I assume it would be fun by myself too. It just feels like it's pretty easy difficulty wise but sometimes you need a break from Dark Souls.
 
Finally had some decent gaming time this weekend.  I tried completing Witcher 3, I'm at the part where they're trying to look for Ga-el or whatever his name is but then I jumped into Dead Rising 4 and that took most of my time.  I just finish Case 1 and collected every collectible in the mall and maxed out on the 15 survivors.  I'm now level 50 the beginning of Case 2.  I enjoy the DR series and enjoying this very much.  I also grabbed Ryse Legendary and hopped on that horde solo mode and got my butt kicked.  I need to replay the campaign again to remember the moves again.  I think I'll grab L4D2 as my final purchase from these sales but not sure.  Too bad it doesn't include the DLC.  Is there one that includes all the DLC?  Gonna watch the Globes now hopefully I'll get more play time after.

I like R6 Siege because it's almost the antithesis of run & gun, spray and pray, CoD style shooters. I recommend playing some mobile games at the same time, because you'll die in 2 shots and have to spectate until the round ends (generally less than 3 min).

I haven't played CS is probably 15 years, but I remember it being more frantic and full of bullet hail than R6 is. Also in CS everyone on your team could have the same guns, while in R6 each operator only has a choice between 2-3 guns.

I could jokingly say that liking the Steelers makes you a bad person but recommending Lies of Astaroth? You've gone too far. Seriously, this game is on my shit list. The reason half the achievements are rare is they don't work or didn't for the longest time? So many times the daily log in achievements would get reset or just wouldn't track. There's an achievement for obtaining 300 cards when that many don't even exist as of right now. They keep changing the game to make it grindier. And to top it off, the developers are scum. Bribing the players for in game rewards and bug fixes if they rate the game five stars? People talk shit on Konami and others all the time, but most of it I can shrug my shoulders too. This developer on the other hand is just a complete turd.

That's strange. Maybe I played it after it was patched. I haven't run into many problems with the achievements in loa. I had the five star card achievements not unlock. I sent in feedback to them to say it didn't unlock. I got a message back from them saying they would look into it it. Next night it unlocked. The 300 card achievement is still not unlockable since they don't have that many yet but they are still coming out with cards.

Rainbow Six Siege is great - it's much more tactical and cerebral than most/any FPS that I've played. I wouldn't say you need the DLC/Season Pass to enjoy it - most times when I've played it in the past, it was difficult to pick the DLC Operators as someone else on my team already had. I think you get 10 Assault and 10 Defense anyway that you unlock as you play. AlterEgo is amazing and still plays (from what I've seen on my Friends List).

So - 1) I'm surprised there was a Dead Effect 1 and 2) The coverart gives exactly what you'd expect with that title - a mash-up of Dead Space and Mass Effect.

I knocked out a few games last week - Minecraft Story Mode Ep 1, Walking Dead S3 Ep 1, Michonne Eps 1-3, more achievements in Blizzard Mountain (Horizon 3), and I'm going to try to hit Gen 9 in Titanfall 2 tonight. Then maybe back to Dead Rising 4 or Darksiders Remastered.

 
With the backlog talk, went through the story mode for Mirror's Edge Catalyst this week. Pretty run by the numbers, but wasn't bad. With GTASC starting back up this week, I'll be looking to knock out some of my easy games from the backlog in the coming months. First on tap will be Contrast and Firewatch which I picked up in a recent sale.

Even though the highest daily log in achievement was 30 days, I remember logging in for 90 days straight, maybe more than that, and so many times my progress didn't go up.With so many things not working, I haven't touched it since grabbing that achievement. Maybe one day I'll try playing it again for real, but that day is far, far away.

 
Welp, my Giants are officially done. Tough loss, they missed JPP getting pressure on Rodgers. Coverage had been decent for three quarters or so, but Rodgers seems to have 7 seconds near the pocket every play, and then the defense just broke after that 4th down stop. Sucks.

So back to the vidyas. I got an Xbox One S this Christmas, and I've just started getting into it. It's become very apparent that thanks to EA Access alone, I'm going to need an external hard drive. Does anyone feel really passionately about which one to get? I'm looking to drop a good bunch of cash on a long term solution. Thinking about an 8TB one..

No, they never did any GOTY as some of the DLC took a long time to come out. Like a year or two ago they were on sale for $1 but I don't know that it'll happen again.

If you can run it on your computer all the DLC was free there, plus you have full mod support. The population was still fine on 360 last time I tried, but there are more players on Steam.

So - 1) I'm surprised there was a Dead Effect 1 and 2) The coverart gives exactly what you'd expect with that title - a mash-up of Dead Space and Mass Effect.

I knocked out a few games last week - Minecraft Story Mode Ep 1, Walking Dead S3 Ep 1, Michonne Eps 1-3, more achievements in Blizzard Mountain (Horizon 3), and I'm going to try to hit Gen 9 in Titanfall 2 tonight. Then maybe back to Dead Rising 4 or Darksiders Remastered.

Rainbow Six Siege reminds me of Counter-Strike from the videos I've watched, which is my favorite shooter ever and my avatar. Would you say it's similar to Counter Strike?

Now that all this is so cheap, I highly recommend it to any of you with young children.

This! Been playing Star Wars pack all weekend with my 7 yr old. Not saying it's only fun for kids...fun for a 40 something kid too!
