I think I'm going to trade in X-Com 2 at BB for $22.50 and upgrade to digital for $10. I don't see it getting any better then that, and can count to getting that 4th star in February MyVIP rewards deal.

The funniest part is most likely Activision that is holding up the Black Ops 2 backward compatibility release, not Microsoft. Activision has to grant approval first, and if you want to play an older title, Activision would much rather you buy Modern Warfare Remastered and then buy loot crates.

 
but black ops 2 and mw remastered really aren't that similar, I would never buy infinite warfare special edition because bo2 isnt BC, ill just wait

 
Just read this about For Honor

The economy is unchanged from the beta, requiring you to unlock characters for 500 steel a pop, while outfits can range into the thousands. Gear upgrades still come as random rewards at the end of winning matches and in gashapon-style random packs purchased with steel. This is bad enough, but the fact that the cash trickles in at a geological pace is the real kicker. The average (victorious) ten- to fifteen-minute round only coughs up a paltry 30 steel. You can start doing the math on how much steel that is per hour when you factor in loading and matchmaking yourself.
Completing the tutorial gives you 2,000 steel, which seems like a lot until you realize six of the nine characters are locked from the start. This means you won't even get the full spread of the cast until you do some serious grinding, or pony up some extra dough. Pretty shitty.

After Gears 4 and it's RNG system, I'm done with supporting this business model. A game with a $40 season pass and still has microtransactions. No fucking thanks.

Spencer said BO2 wasn't coming in FEB but other great titles were. I'm just curious as to what the other 2 for today are since the program is like a runaway train that will never slow down.

So halfway through Feb, we've had 3 games added to BC. Something that would happen in one day.

Hitman: Absolution, GTA IV, and Lego Indiana Jones.

I've heard it's a bit harder has it has tweaked the way missions work to try and get you to be more aggressive, but I don't think it's too much.

Having just bought Lego Worlds on Steam for $5, I think $30 is kind of steep unless a big update is coming alongside the "official" release. There isn't much to do as far as adventure goes. You basically wonder around finding new pieces that you have to unlock with studs (money). No real objectives or quests. The game does look great at least. The real meat of the game is the construction since you can just build anything with any pieces you've unlocked, and I guess that's what you're really paying for. It's not bad, but don't go in expecting a ton of similarities to Minecraft like a lot of sites have compared it to, it's more like the Creative mode of that both cranked up and down in different ways.

I can see this year's CoD coming with a remaster as well, possibly Blops 2. Sales were down last year, and unless something drastic happens, they aren't going to be getting better.

That would be hilarious. I'd love to see the 10 year olds crying about that.

I just hope that next year's MP is on par with AW or BO3. IW MP sucked a big one. It was so bad that I couldn't justify keeping it for just MWR.

So 6 are locked and you get enough steel from the tutorial to buy 4 more. Leaving 2 locked at 500 a piece and you can earn about 30 steel from a 15 minute match. So about 8-10 hours hours total to get the other two?

I'm not defending the design choice but it's not nearly as dire as you're making it sound. 500 matches?

I really liked Hitman Absolution so I may give it a go again. I got most of the achievements but I still need a professional playthrough and I need to collect all the evidence.

Must be thinking of Battleborn. It's probably as extreme as Kristaps mentions. I was an unfortunate early adopter with season pass, thought it would be better.

I haven't played too much but it seems like a fully fleshed out campaign where you play as all three factions. Not sure of length and haven't looked on Hl2b yet. One of the missions so far was definitely designed like a capture the point mode in online MP but did make sense for what was going on so didn't seem forced or anything

I absolutely do NOT want any of the FF XIII games to go BC, and I CERTAINLY don't want them to go on sale after they inevitably (much to my dismay) do.

There are also daily & weekly quests that pay larger amounts, around 500-1000 so far.

And with being able to swap appearances on any gear piece as well as only six possible stat rolls across a handful of rarities that become easier to get as you play the loot grind isn't as bad as some games, assuming RNGesus doesn't hate you.

Thanks as always Bloomy. You are the real MVP. I'd love to have BioShock and Deus Ex, but this close to ME: Andromeda it is really tough to justify any purchases. Stupid backlog issues.

Yeah, unlockable characters/items have been in games for a long time...I guess itjust ruffles people's feathers bc now you have the option topay to skip the process. I don't care as long as it's not as ridiculously stingy as Gears 4's grind, and even then it's mostly just cosmetics.

Also, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is great, I really enjoyed it.  I would say I enjoyed the first more - Human Revolution - but certainly the sequel is more impressive graphically at this point.  Some people don't like Adam Jensen as a character, but I like him enough. 

Anyone have a recommendation for Battleborn?  Generally I liked Borderlands, but only played those solo.  Wasn't a huge fan of the beta.  I'm going to assume I'm only considering it since it's on sale.

Totally agree about Deus Ex. Enjoyed both MD and HR a lot.

As for Battleborn, it's actually much better than the reputation it earned. I haven't played the VS at all, just the campaign stuff and it's actually been really fun, but each mission seems to be close to an hour. The deluxe content has added a few story missions and two characters so far. For some reason, even though Gearbox lost a ton of money on Battleborn they do a really good just of supporting it and just released a huge patch improving performance. If you do grab it let me know, I'm early in the campaign and would start over of you wanna go through it

Also, anyone else grab For Honor and plan on hopping on multi-player tonight?
