So I just finished installing the Alpha update and multiplayer games aren't connecting right. Warframe takes me 10 minutes to log in and almost crashes. Other people reporting Destiny and Rocket League not working either.

If you haven't updated today/last night, i'd suggest holding off until it's fixed.

 
Yikes, I'm not in the alpha, but Warframe has taken a much longer time to log in since the most recent update. Not ten mnutes, maybe four.

While you're waiting you can snap another...... never mind.

I updated and took it home yesterday. I think it's worse being in offline mode. Things are taking 3+ mins to come up, games are crashing as soon as I start them, and worse yet is when I bring up the new guide. It will come up but then the select icon stays in the background highlighting icons and won't recognize the new menu. Meaning I can't sign in without kinect and can't shut down unless I get up and tap the button even then it takes 2 mins before turning off now. I guess you can say it's a soft brick.

 
Bing Rewards has a "hot deal" where you can get one month of Xbox Live Gold for 4900 points this month. Is this a good deal? I'm considering it only because I'll have that many points in two days.

4900 points is about $5 of rewards so it just depends if you like paying $5 for a month of live.

I figure I could use it on that or buy a $5 XBL code for 4650. I doubt we'll ever get another one of those glitches like we did late last year where the Windows credit codes were extremely points-cheap and most of the orders were reversed after the fact.

 
I'm just banking my bing points for the next sale.  If I need M$ Bucks in the meantime I can always cash in as needed.  Or maybe it will cause me to save up enough for a year of live.

So, looking for a bit of advice. I have 120 dollars or so in Xbox Live promotional credits, except I can only use them on the website because my 360 broke. So I have to use them to buy xbox one games, basically. I'm not going to have one of those for months but oh well...

ANYWAY! I am looking for suggestions on what to get? Thinking games I could only get on xbox one if possible, since I have a ps4 already. Stuff that would work on xbone and pc would be alright...assuming I can use the credits on those...

What are your top 5 games you have played before? That might help us steer you towards stuff you would like.
 
If you're only going for exclusives that narrows it down quite a bit. Though unless your credit is expiring it's worth waiting for one of the bigger sales that happen every few months to get the best discount, and prices will just get lower the longer you wait for the most part anyways.

Well exclusives like the Forza Motorsport/Horizon, Halo, Gears, Ori & the Blind Forest, Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive, Dance Central, Max: The curse of Brotherhood & Rare Replay games are what I'd recommend. Halo Wars 2 is also pretty good. There's also EA Access on Xbox One, I hear it's pretty good. :p
 
I just finished GTAIV after all these years thanks to BC.

I am still dumbfounded by how this game managed to get a 97% average from ALL of the reviews that were posted. That's insane.

Then GTAV is only a point behind, or nearly tied depending on how you look at it. Crazy.

It's a great game, but I don't see how GTAIV (and probably GTA V when I'm done with it) are the perfect video game(s). I also prefer Red Dead Redemption more. Maybe It's just because John Marston is a more lovable character and the western environment is more pleasing to me.

Your best bet would be to wait until the spring sale which should happen within the next month. Assuming your credit doesn't expire before then, your credit will buy you a lot of good games during the sale.

 
Sadly, my credit expires on the 1st of march, hence the urgency of my request.

I wonder if I could get them to extend the expiration...

Well 3 titles in February up until this point when they should be at 15, based upon when the program was at its peak last year would seem to indicate that you sarcastic asshole. Keep lying to yourself though and pretend that there is nothing going on with it.

I'm replaying it, too, and yeah, it's rougher than most of us remember it. The character models are very expressive but they're kinda ugly, and combat is clunky. You just have to remember, compare GTAIV to San Andreas, when the trailer debuted for IV it was a big freaking deal and people were clamoring to see what Rockstar was going to do on next-gen hardware. Inevitably, games that aim for realism don't age as well, even if they get praised to hell and back at release. The bar was set a lot lower in 2008... looking at GTAV on 360/PS3, it's really amazing what they were able to accomplish between entries.

According to Wikipedia there have been 4 MORE games release in the first two months 2017 (assuming no more come out) then the first two months of 2016.

2017 22 games to date

2016 18 games Janurary and Feburary.

Not sure what numbers you are looking at. Not really seeing a drastic trend downward. There were only 7 games released in Feb 2016.

3 slower weeks in February isn't really much of a trend to go on.

That actually incorrect. It worked on both, but because the disc wasn't encrypted, they have no way currently to verify the disc when inserting it in an Xbox One.

This is me today lol, It's Hockey Day in America (yeah another sport on Sunday) and so I've been playing Killer Instinct, Rocket League & Fallout Shelter while I've got 4 hockey games on today. All while I've got Halo Wars 2 and The Witcher 3 sitting on the bench. Lol, an abundance of privilege.

There's actually a legit term for this. Choice/Decision/Analysis Paralysis (it has several variations).

Basically, when you have too many selections to choose from, you literally are unable to make a decision and retreat back to a comfort zone.

I had this problem with Blu Rays years ago. I had a 500+ movie collection and could never decide on what to watch. Eventually I just...stopped buying them.

I didn't. I still buy movies en masse, but only on the cheap.

I have them all in alphabetical order according to filmaf.com (I apparently have 1,324 unique titles on 1,917 dvds and blurays) and just decided to start at the beginning. When I got to something I really, really wanted to watch, I saw it as a treat for watching everything before it. It really helps.

Then I got into UV and Vudu and all of that. I have 516 titles on there. Mostly from my collection... alot that I have traded for or bought from the thread here.

I'll admit, I do a much better job on my film backlog than on my game backlog.

Sorry, snowflake, that's your thing now. You are officially the "BC is dying" guy. You started it, you built it, so deal with it cause you're gonna get ribbing on it. I would have thought you had figured that out by now. Personally, I think BC will be around for a bit, but I have no real knowledge of it since I don't work for MS and I don't care to argue the logic since you clearly won't be dissuaded.

Oh, and I don't need to lie to myself or pretend anything since I still have two 360s and my giant backlog of 360 games and yet I keep booting up Fallout Shelter instead...
