The open beta starts on Thursday though you can preload now. The closed beta was enjoyable. Huge world, lots to do, can go in guns blazing or clear out enemies with stealth.

OT, but the Pixar Shorts Collections 1 and 2 are on sale at Amazon digitally for 2.99 each. They're usually 17.99. As long as you've linked your Microsoft account to DMA, they'll port to your Microsoft Movies and TV app and VUDU, etc. The Disney Animation shorts collection is 2.99, as well.

This darn game lol.  I really hope I can stock up on some ammo soon.

To all of you saying how easy Resident Evil 7 is, are you serious?  Maybe I should just play all campaigns on easy from now on.  It's either I'm too on edge to aim accurately or it's that old age catching up with me.

 
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but if you're picking up the Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition with the intent of selling the code for the HW1 remaster, it's one code that redeems the season pass and the remaster.

I just finished it tonight and damn is this one hell of a game. Had me on edge throughout the whole thing. About to start my madhouse difficulty play through.

I found the game very easy on Normal difficulty. Madhouse was much more challenging, but just felt like it should have been the Normal difficulty. I haven't started the dlc yet, but I think it is supposed to have a new mode that is very hard.

I like Vaccine. It is very basic and doesn't have much variety, but it is fun. If I didn't get it as a gift from a friend, I'd price it at $5. The game goes for RE1 feel, but doesn't quite get it right.

 
I haven't picked up Blue Dragon yet, so any opinions? 

As someone who doesn't traditionally play much JRPGs (mostly because of the turn-based combat), I am enjoying FF XIII-2, will it be a good purchase?

Blue Dragon is the poster child of a by the book jrpg. I enjoyed it because I love JRPG's, but its a very generic JRPG
 
Quickly played the RE7 dlc that came to Xbox today. I haven't played Daughters or Ethan Must Die yet. I've played all the others for an attempt or two.

If you've been craving more RE7, I think the dlc is perfect. So far 10/10 for me. The parts I thought would be dumb (blackjack and feeding jack on his birthday) are surprisingly fun. I can't wait to play it more tomorrow. Lots to unlock.

Disclaimer: It is 5am and I didn't sleep much last night, so I might be overrating a bit.
 
The fact that all the DLC for RE7 is already out is disgusting, clearly already good to go at launch. It seems they learned a lesson from Revelations 2's weird weekly release schedule. Problem is the base game was cheap so it ended up being the cost of a normal game when finished. I think a lot of  people just glossed right over this detail because of how well received 7 has been.

 
I've seen a lot of complaints about Duke 3D World Tour. The redone voice acting is apparently worse, and it doesn't have a lot of the expansions that were in the Megaton Edtion on PC. The new episode is supposed to be good, but then it has Gearbox jokes dragging it down.

$10 is probably worth it if you've never played Duke 3D, but I'm waiting for $5 since the new episode is pretty much all I'm interested in. There is a developer commentary which I would usually be interested in but since Pitchford is part of it I'm not sure I'll listen to it.

 
I wonder if we'll see a resurgence in Evolve's online community because of this.

EDIT - Also, I'm surprised to see Borderlands 2 come to the BC program!

Never did buy the handsome collection, probably no point now since I can just play BL2 with backwards compat now, getting a free digital copy of games I already own is always nice for the lazy part of me

I've heard Layers of Fear is pretty good. Surprised they're giving us the ultimate version of Evolve. I'd expect they'd want to sell some DLC, but must have figured little would be bought and the GWG payout would be better or something. BL2 is another odd choice from the same publisher. I doubt many people on 360 would buy DLC at this point, and if you're going to it's better to just straight up by the HD version that already includes it unless you don't have an Xbone.

The same could be said for plenty of games that shoehorn in a season pass... most DLC is ready to go at launch - RE7 just released theirs quickly.

I totally understand online multiplayer focused games that do season passes generally give good value to players, but games that are mainly single player experiences DO NOT need season passes. I'm looking at you Lego and WWE games.

 
With the possible exception of Layers of Fear, that's a horrible GwG. Evolve is, well, crap that could be found for $5 at times.

Borderlands 2 is part of the Handsome Collection that a lot of people already have. And isn't Heavy Weapon an EA game that is in the Vault?

Edit: missed the posts that Evolve is the Ultimate edition. Maybe not too bad if the online community jumps through the roof with this.

I already own BL2 digitally on both 360 (with DLC) and One. Really good game. One of my favorites from last gen.

If anyone has 360 game saves you can move them to XBox One which is pretty cool. You actually move your characters one at a time though the BL2 menu in each game.

Can't go back though. I lost my 360 saves long ago though. I ended up replaying it again anyway and 100% the main story and have much better characters and loot then my old 360 games. I wouldn't mind finishing up the achievements on 360 but not playing it from the beginning again.

That's a big pile of meh for GwG next month. Not that it matters, since I have like 50 other GwG in my ready to install list that I've never played. Might check out Layers of Fear, at least.

Are they giving away a playable Xbox One game in the 2nd half of March too or just the Evolve tile to keep in the ready to install section?
 
Total bust on the 360 side since Heavy Weapon is in the Vault. I already own Borderlands Handsome Collection so BL2 is meh to me.

X1 side is great because I've always wanted to get Evolve when it was cheap multiple times but passed. Evolve comes with all the DLC I believe since It's the ultimate edition. Layers of Fear is something I don't own and heard good things.

 
It is debatable (to all of you) whether BC is dying... but I think we can all agree Evolve died long ago. I played that mess when it came, thankfully I rented it. What a steaming pile of boring turds. Hopefully it has been reworked.

I'm going to wait for the Scorpio to get announced, see it's specs, see the price/determine if it's worth it and then pick up either a S which will go on sale/get cheaper or buy a Scorpio :razz:

Well It's going to have a active community, at least for a few more days.

Kinda wondering how the conversation went to get Borderlands 2 BC when the handsome collection is already on X1. I'm really curious as to how much MS is giving 2K per copy that gets downloaded. I would think this is one game they would NOT want to go BC because of the handsome collection. At this rate we might see Dark Souls 2 go BC.

Not sure how it works on XBox 360. But on PS3 you could install the DLC from the disc and play the digital copy or base physical disc version. I remember borrowing a friends GOTY edition just to load the DLC on my PS3.

Seems to be the same deal on 360 according to the last post here.

As someone who has the UE of Evolve and likes the game, this will probably get me to play it again since the community will pick up so I'm stoked for that, Layers of Fear is the only game I don't own though. 

 
Layers of Fear requires 3 full playthroughs just to get all the endings and to get all the achievements!!?!?!?  fuck that.

Evolve has had free-to-play weekends before.  The first day of playing is interesting as you're learning the game and the characters.  Then it gets boring real fast.  When playing PvE, the AI is either dumb as heck making the game pretty easy and lame, or the AI is too OP making it a frustrating experience.  In PvP, you can tell within the first minutes if you're going to win or not, rendering the whole rest of the game a waste of your time.  That is mainly due to the whole asymmetric 1v4 gameplay.  That seems neat at first, but if the monster player is really good or really bad, the outcome of the game is already preordained.  At least with symmetric game modes, there's a chance that a good player will balance out (or be balance out) by a more mediocre player.  That's not the case here.  It was very rare to play a PvP match that was truly fun, balanced, and challenging for both sides.

March is not a bust though.  Mass Effect: Andromeda launches!  :D

Evolve was never bad, it just became the cool thing for the internet to hate. When played with a functional squad the game is actually really good
 
It doesn't have a campaign of any sorts so you know that automatically made it a big target online. I put a decent amount of time into it but I have to admit it gets boring fairly quickly.

The funniest thing ever came from Evolve. I was playing as the hunter guy with the cowboy hat, and after a match was over where I got the killing blow, he blurts out, in a strong Southern accent, "Yew just fucked with the wrong motherfucker, motherfucker!". It was so random, I almost fell out my chair laughing.
