Bought World Heroes and there are some issues.

-music sounds scratchy, dunno if the original neo geo version was like this, it's been like 20 years since I played it at an arcade.

-the game slows down to hell with massive frame skips whenever you unlock an achievement or make a clip

-I got all the achievements in 15 minutes (shit, you can probably get them in 5 minutes) without even trying, they are extremely easy and generic.

-no online play.

Unless you want an extremely easy 1000 gs or have  nostalgia for World Heroes, it's an easy pass or wait for a sale.

 
Kinda lame that Shovel Knight will be on sale before they increased the price, on all the platform except for Xbox One.

Nope. The game itself needs to be updated via BC, the game is asking for a 360 update lol. Someone fucked up. I complained to Bill Stillwell on twitter we'll hope to see it resolved next week or they will feel my spammy wrath.

Pretty big updates to BC today. Can't believe Ubisoft finally gave in on Rogue. Guess it's not getting remastered then.

FYI The Neo Games are not online MP just local which kinda sucks.

Oh well, at least BC isn't dead and I got KOF today.

 
Space Invaders Infinity Gene is good. It's a modern sequel like Pac-Man Championship Edition or Galaga Legions. Definitely worth playing. It does have one achievement that requires you to play a mode that uses music from your harddrive, so I assume that's unattainable on Xbone.

This is a pretty good batch of games. KoF 2002 is a good, and I know a lot of people wanted Rouge to become BC. Can't really say on the other two games. They look OK but have mediocre reviews.

Good point. I'd rather wait for it to go GWG than buying it physical and then being unable to get rid of it (I'm not in the US so my options are very limited when it comes to reselling/trading physical 360 stuff).

It is only the case this week because Phil opened his mouth saying good games were coming. More is always welcome, but there was an inherent quality expected to this week's releases that didn't really come to pass outside of 1, maybe 2 of the 6. #logicalgoalpostmoving

If you have any interest in fighting games, get KOF 2002 UM. It's one of the best games ever made, huge roster, great soundtrack, and  the best gameplay in the entire King of Fighter series.

edit: One more strike against World Heroes (and probably Turf Masters). While my xbox was downloading the new BC games, World Heroes started to play like I was in a laggy online match. Distorted audio and huge frame skipping, this was in the "Hi Score" mode where there is a leaderboard on the right side of the screen.

I really don't wanna rag on this game because I'm enjoying it, but it's really hard to recommend this game to anyone outside of nostalgic fans (and I can't imagine there are many) or achievement hunters.

I feel the same way. I look forward to noon on Tues and Thurs just for this. I don't expect anything much for the most part. I eat lunch, watch videos and wait for the tweet from major Nelson.
Since Phil said there were good titles this week I expected at least 2, not an announced gwg, an offshoot of a aaa title and a bunch of arcade games
 
Happy to see AC: Rogue on the X1.  It may be the first I play of the 3 AC games I still have left to play (Unity and Syndicate being the others).

Another week of BC, another week of no civ rev, that being said, I'm happy I was right about Assassin's creed Rogue. Looking forward to playing that.

Not sure why I'm taking the bait but things pick up before Christmas in multiple ways. You can only compare January and February 2017 to January and February 2016 to see how it's trending and as it's been mentioned multiple times, we are getting more this year.

I'd suggest Rogue before Unity and Syndicate last. Rogue and unity have a bit of a connection, it was cool to see it when playing rogue second but rogue takes place prior to unity. I really liked rogue but think I liked syndicate more. Unity was a bit of a mess when it came out, I stopped an hour or two into it and put it aside for a while and it was much better after being patched.

It may not be the game you're playing, it may be the OS in general. I was copying HW2 from a USB to my upstairs console's internal HDD and I tried to start playing a handful of games and every time I got an error message: "Game so-and-so is taking too long to start." Once the copy finished I was able to jump right into Diablo III with zero hesitation.

You could compare to those months, but I don't think they really hit their stride until closer to summer. I think it is more relevant to compare it to more recent months.

In gaming news, pretty bummed about the AoT price hike. I've heard good things but still haven't watched the anime, and there was a little buzz in here that had me ready to watch some gameplay vids to see if it was right for me, but it looks like that ship has sailed. Oh well, it's probably a bad idea to waste $20+ just so I get that $4 reward.

It's nice to see 343 admit mistakes, they usually brush them off pretty hard. I would like to see their numbers for people who do play splitscreen, but even if it's less than 10%, virtually the entire community lost their shit when this was discovered. I think the reaction was made worse because they chose not to say anything about removing splitscreen until the game was actually out. They clearly weren't ready for it. If they'd dial back their graphics a bit I think it'd be feasible, but the overly designed aesthetic of their art style may have trapped them as far as performance at this point. I'm curious if they'll be able to stick to 60 FPS. Halo 5 already had to make a lot of sacrifices to make it work. A dynamic resolution and Forge object mostly looking extremely basic on top of no splitscreen.

Irrational/Ghost Story just needs to give some details on what they're actually making. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a walking simulator so my expectations are low.

 
Is there a way to easily figure out purchases made through the sales and specials app? Pretty sure that's how I bought space invaders even though it is showing up as unpurchased online.

I feel like I remember a method being posted on here ages ago, can't seem to find it now though.

Removing split-sceen co-op from Halo is like removing it from Mario Kart to me, its a game mode that has been there for every entry in the series (portables notwithstanding) and its one of the main reasons I enjoy the series. You can't just remove a feature like that after six entries across two console generations and not expect people to react negatively, especially after the MCC had it too.

Other then what was mentioned, you could also check your emails. MS started sending purchase confirmation emails Jan 2013, I think.

I'll never forget how I somehow missed that it wouldn't have split-screen co-op (Halo 5), I pre-ordered it, and when it arrived my girlfriend and I had found a babysitter, we sat down together on the couch, and then she watched me struggle for an hour trying to get split-screen to work before she eventually googled it and told me it didn't have it, and I still didn't believe her, and kept trying to figure it out. Halo without couch co-op? lol.

We then gave up and watched Netflix, but the next day I went back to it and played on my own for probably 3 hours or so, and never went back to it.

I suppose if I had more Xbox Live friends you could find some fun in it still, but I definitely prefer playing with friends/family on the couch in the same room. It's just not the same.
