I've seen lots of praise for both the Wolfenstein and Shadow Warrior reboots. If you only got one, which one would you get? I'm leaning towards Shadow Warrior since New Order has gone on sale to $5-6 every few months, but Shadow Warrior being that cheap seems like it's a big deal.

Wolfenstein is much better than Shadow Warrior, but like you said the fact that Wolfenstein is on sale like every other week makes it less pressing to get now

Shadow Warrior does have way more dick jokes too, so that could put it over the top. The main characters name is Lo Wang for reference.

I had that issue with my original Xbox One. I found a suggestion online that worked for me. Hold the disk with your finger in the hole as you insert it. When your finger gets to the point that it's blocking the disc from going in, allow it to hesitate for a second or so and let it try to pull the disc in. Then let it go. For whatever reason it worked for me. Probably not the best thing for the drive, but in the end a replacement drive was the only thing that solved the issue.

Both games are over the top, but Wolfenstein plays it serious while SW takes the Duke Nukem 3d approach. I'd say SW stays truer to the Doom/Serious Sam roots of circle straffing around giant rooms rull of mobs, and Wolfy does a really good job modernizing the genre without losing the sense of wild and fun.

Some bulk seller on eBay is selling 12-mo Xbox live codes for $40 (saw this on slickdeals). Sadly I haven't seen any cheaper in a while so I jumped on it. Thought it might be relevant to some folks in here.

I say get Shadow Warrior now (since it's so cheap) and The New Order in a future sale (since it's always on sale). But if you only plan on playing one of them, I say get The New Order. The New Order was my favorite FPS since Halo 3 and one of the most fun games I'd played in awhile.

I paid $36 last year in June Newegg. Cheapest for EA Access was $19 sometime last year Newegg. Cheapest both for this year seems to be $40.50 (newegg, but had to buy two years together) and $20 for EA acesss on CDKeys

With the 10% off Easter code, 12 months was $40 on CDKeys, and I think the code is still active. Pretty sure they require you to register an account to use the code, though, which is something I don't feel like doing.

 
How much does AC: Rogue (on 360 of course) feel like AC: Black Flag on Xbox One?  I really enjoyed Black Flag and wouldn't mind another game like that, but wonder if Rogue will feel too much like a step down due to it being a 360 game.  I never played Black Flag on 360, so I don't know how similar the two versions were.

 
I've done a pretty good job practicing restraint and talking myself out of buying backlog fodder from this sale.  So far I've still only bought Not a Hero (super fun and funny!), the Goat Sim DLC, and Lego Avengers Deluxe.  I thought about Sniper Elite 3 and Just Cause 3 but haven't pulled the trigger.  I tried ZAT and realized I'm fine with not buy Sniper and all of the talk of the technical issues of JC3 paired with the fact I haven't even played 2 yet kind of pushed me over the "not today" line.  I can kind of see it being super cheap this coming holidays and maybe I'll have time for it then.

I did finally bag a rare NES classic out in the wild.  My wife had mentioned that she read somewhere that Nintendo was shutting down production and I dismissed it due to the still growing demand, then yesterday I saw all of the reputable sites echoing the news.  I did a last chance brickseek search and lo and behold there were two Walmarts close enough by with stock.  The first Walmart still showed 2 in stock but the "bros" at the counter "just sold the last two, dur hur."  

By the time I made it to the second Walmart, the first one's stock mysteriously hit 0 (even though brickseek seems to always be pretty quick about updating).  The guys at the second one had no idea that they had any in stock until I told them.  While the nice Chum-Lee looking guy went in the back to look, I had to listen to the taller douche-bag, clearly 20 year-old brag about how he didn't need one because of his sweet PC/emulator/rom setup. I told him it was more for the nostalgia factor since I'm an early 80's baby.  He said he was too (no freakin' way) and that he still has his "working, original German model NES" (das NINTENDOSCHAFTEN!!!) and even an original Colecovision in his (his parent's) attic.  I couldn't take that any more so I walked away to wait alone until Chum-Lee came back with my NES Classic.  It was a joyous moment.  He even admitted that they had no idea there were a few in stock and sheepishly admitted he was going to get one for himself.  Brickseek immediately reflected my purchase, which then dropped to 0 about 10 minutes later.

Hopefully this eventually means Play Anywhere titles are Steam/X1 that would be awesome.

Also means MS forking over a 30% fee to Valve, but in reality that is pretty probably better getting fewer sales via the MS/Windows 10 store.

The Wolfenstein reboot and the sequel are genuinely great games. Shadow Warrior is an average game that gets a slight fun bump due to its goofiness.

I imagine graphics will be a step-down, maybe even frame rates, but I don't think there was any difference between Black Flag on 360 and X1 in terms of gameplay/content (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

Rogue essentially feels like Black Flag 1.5

Rogue felt like a hybrid of AC3 and Black Flag to me. That being said, it demands to be played. The story is the best in the franchise, and I have played all but the PSP titles. Being hunted by assassins and having to counter their attacks was a refreshing gameplay twist. Also, it is the only game in the series where you spend almost the entirety as a Templar. That was worth the price of admission for me.

I don't know how licensing works on 360 games bought on the Xbox one, but I haven't had any problem playing the same game across generations that I bought on the 360. If it is a game you plan on playing online at the same time, your main account would need to play on the 360 while the other account is on the X1 unless you both have live.
 
I almost survived the spring sale without spending anything. I was doing good all year with only 1 purchase(Resident Evil Super Bundle) in 2017 and then on the final day of the spring sale I dropped a $40+ bomb on DLC and a few games. So freaking close...
 
So Shiness and Wonder Boy should hit tonight. Probably only get one. Leaning toward Shiness but both look good.

Anyone seen any reviews of either? I haven't found any yet.

With regard to the Dead Rising games, they aren't remasters. They're literally just adequate, lazy ports which run the 360 game at a higher resolution and frame-rate and released at a budget price:

Which is fine if that's what people want, it's cool Sony fans can play the original. But let's not give Capcom any more credit than they're due. Skyrim was remastered, Dead Rising was ported.

 
Do the Case West and Case Zero DLCs add much to the Dead Rising 2 stories? I know at least one of the stories is self contained. That said, I'll probably buy more on 360 than Xbox One before the sale ends. I missed a lot during the 360 era and I'm just catching up now.

They're both stand alone XBLA games. One takes place before (zero) DR2 and the other after (west). I'm not 100% on that since out of the three I've only played some of zero. They're both backwards compatible.
