My wife liked it. I didn't. Hard to beat Aliens. Any sequels after that is going to look bad.

My favorite scene from any movie is still when they barricade the room and are watching the motion detector. Motion looks inside the barricade. Then he looks in the ceiling and all hell breaks loose. I get chills every time.

I might be on to play throughout the week as the game is actually pretty fun, even in potato settings so my computer can run it.
 
Big fans of the series should check out this book about the quadrilogy. It does into depth how each movie got made and why, and gave me a new appreciation for the stinkers of the series (3/4). Alien 3 was David Finchers first movie, and there was LOTS of studio interference just in getting it off the ground. I was originally going to be about monks living on a wooden planet, not that that sounds much better than what we got... And Alien 4 was directed by the guy who made Amelie and CIty of Lost Children, a bizarre(but talented) french director should have never been given the reigns, but he was and made it how HE would want an Alien move to be and it made me hate it just a little bit less. Really cool book...

-remember when Wynona Rider plugs into the ship and stars speaking into the comm system with a shitty robot voice?.... I am excited for the new one though!

Never saw Requiem, but I thought the first AvP was a stinker. My favorite part is when the chick gets back to the surface of Antartica in a tank top and doesn't seem bothered by the cold let alone freeze to death.

I was going to say no to this and that Prometheus is just part of the universe like Rogue One is to the SW saga, but since Prometheus' sequel has Alien in the title I just don't know anymore.

Apparently Live for the 360 is going down for maintenance in a couple hours. I think this is the first time since I've had Live that I've seen it go down for maintenance.

I've been a member of XBox Live for 13+ years and honestly can't recall the last time XBox ever had maintenance.

That is pretty incredible when you think about it. MMOs for example get multiple maintenance periods. Isn't Live still at 30+ million members?

The few times it has been down are random issues or the script kiddies getting bored.

I bought Energy Cycle for giggles and finished it in about a half-hour, so after years of never asking for one, I feel like taking them up on it.

Did you read the reviews? It's basically $3 for 1000 gamer score. Most people finish it quickly.

I feel like you got your moneys worth achievement wise. I don't think the developers had in mind a long game.

Crazy as it sounds, I don't think you should push for a refund. I believe this is going to be a issue (as it has been on Steam) for developers who make really short games (under 2 hours). I know the Dear Esther developers were furious with the new MS refund policy.

If you were short changed say $60 I'd expect you to get a refund. But your talking $3 and some easy gamerscore.

Eff yeah MP Megatron looks great. I want to get him too, but his price is a bit steep. Doubt he'll get released domestically, so I'm hoping there's a good KO for a lower price.

Random, slightly more on-topic thing: If Two Worlds II is getting more DLC, but only for the PC, maybe we they'll release a 'remastered' for current gen. I'm pretty sure I'd be the only person that plays it lol.

Usually when they do it, it's at 3am when most people don't notice. It's definitely impressive how infrequently this is a thing given the size and scope of XBL.

demo = no saves, no progress carry-over, no achievements

trial = yes saves, yes progress carry-over, yes achievements

I guess one final note on Dead Rising 4. Someone on Neogaf broke down Capcom's recent financial stuff. DR4 didn't make their million sellers list as of March 31st. I didn't think about it before but that embarrassing post only said 1,000,000 "players", so that must have included borrowed, game-shared, and used players. I didn't realize RE7 didn't hit their goal either, at 3.5 million it was short by 500,000.

I wonder if maybe MS should have put in a restriction for cost of game? No refunds for games under $20 or something? I can certainly see people taking advantage of the system.

I think it's more likely that MS follows Steam and cuts off refunds for people clearly abusing the system, but who knows. On Steam you can have the "doesn't work on my PC" as a valid excuse, that shouldn't be the case on Xbox. At worst it would be extremely poor performance like Ark or that FPS wizard game at launch.

Hard to say if they can individually reset games. I know a couple guys who were reset for Gamerscore modding on the 360, but it killed all their games. They couldn't re-earn previously unlocked achievements either.

I don't think it would be a huge deterrent anyways. I think people buying games for Gamerscore only is still a pretty small percentage, some people would just being buying and returning these short games to play them. I guess the 2 hour limit is only going to really restrict this to small indie games though. I wonder if using these 2 hours as a sort of demo will be frowned upon, but that could be an expense gamble too.

The one demo I remember that allowed some progress to the full game was crackdown 2. It allowed you to get up to 10 achievements for 100G that would pop up when you load up the full game for the first time.

Yeah, it usually is. Wasn't sure with this being labeled "First Hour" that maybe if it's that long they'd have something in place to carry over progress.

This is one of those BC days where I am truly excited since I am actually playing through Dead Space 3 (again) on 360.

Now I can yell XBOX TAKE A SCREENSHOT.

Getting shit games out of the way means bigger hype for the better games.

The 360 library is friggin' huge. There are almost 2000 games if you include XBLA titles. We are only apporaching the 20%. Granted I don't know how many of those titles are delisted, licensing hell or Kinect so you can probably say we are past the 20% BC range.

Let's not forget that MS had some sort of sunset progam for the XBox Indie Games which is at 3,300+ though I have no idea what they are doing for those.

 
I understand some may not like the Cabelas games but those are solid additions to BC. I would imagine plenty of people who may not frequent this forum would be happy to be able to play those on the one.

 
If anyone hates EA Access and wants digital ownership Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3 are up digitally for $19.99 each.

They are on Origin Access for free already, so I'd imagine in the fall they will go free with EA Access.

Sadly ME2 and ME3 are digital EA Access exclusives at the moment.

 
Pretty bullshit that Turn 10 didn't include the Porsche Car Pack for FH3 in either the Car Pack of Expansion Pass.  Wtf kind of bullshit is that?

 
Dead Space 3 was a big let down for me....up until you get to the last half of the game. Holy shit, that entire final stretch is the closest we'll ever get to playing through a decent HP Lovecraft game. Once they revealed what the Markers really were and what the purpose of their existence was, DS 3, for me, instantly became much more enjoyable on a personal level.
