This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I'd like just one X1 free game per month. Max: Curse Of Brotherhood would be a nice start.
I'll throw Zoo Tycoon into the prediction pool for 1st Xbox One game offered. You could go with Titanfall or Forza Motorsport5 -heck I guess you could say even FIFA- as a few have managed to nab those free with the console bundles but I'm going with a game that hasn't been given free and is actually pretty good.

Max or Crimson Dragon as the "arcade" version.

Yeah, after an hour I noticed I was 28% done! Still, can't argue with 4 hours for $3. Even if I never touch MP. And I won't.
Yeah, no problem for $3. I think I bought it when it was released so it was a little bit more stifling at $15.

Speaking of ITSP, did anyone chime in on whether the DLC was worth it?
It's just an extension of the MP, right? The MP was unique but I also thought it was rather tough and quit playing it after 5 or so rounds.

Ohhh, multiplayer. Pass!

I'm so lonely...

The achievements for episode of TWAU isn't showing up on the list, can I still play and earn them?

EDIT: They showed up once I started the episode, thanks.

Yes. It worked fine for me last night. It was only yesterday morning before the achievements had been published to live.xbox.com that you couldn't unlock them online.

This happens from time to time with DLC. Basically, check live.xbox.com before you play, if you can see them there, you're good to go.

Alright, so I wanna replay Episode 3 of The Wolf Among Us, when it asks for the save location or whatever, can I choose the same file and it still keep my choices from Ep. 1 and 2 or will it completely overwrite them and instead I need to choose a new location?

That free Dragon Ball season is still watchable if you picked it up while it was free. I know some people weren't sure if we would be able to watch it after the deal expired.

Didn't realize that they removed the online multiplayer in Trials Fusion:

"We know by reviewing the metrics from Trials Evolution that the vast majority of players tried the mode, didn’t return to it and decided to focus their time on other parts of Trials. We even further polished that mode for the PC version, Trials Evolution: Gold Edition, but players still did not engage that feature and online multiplayer was less popular among all players."

Wait....wtf, so I can't race on custom tracks online with my buddies? As much as I love Trials I may not be getting this one at first anymore....

And I was planning on getting the Disc version at launch....I barely touched the Single Player stuff in Evolution, I loved checking out maps with my friends.

As long as you can still see your friends' ghosts, I'll be happy with it. If any of my friends had Evolution, I'm sure I'd be more upset about the new game not having multiplayer.

So I just started playing Alan Wake. I'm definitely intrigued by the story but WOW this game is a giant collectible fest. If you're OCD like me then you are compelled to go after all of them.....to clarify, all 291 of them. Groooooaaan.

Other than that, the gameplay is tense and satisfying and for a game released in 2010 the game looks pretty damn good. Looking forward to Quantum Break even more now.

you will find most of the collectibles show up in sequence with the story so it's hard to miss them.

Yeah there is an insane amount of collectibles, but you only really need to go for them if you care about achievements. That said, go for the manuscript pages regardless as they flesh out the story-within-the-story more.

Each of the DLC's add more collectables as well. I don't believe I found all of the collectables in any of them, but I wasn't searching to hard.

I missed quite a lot and WAS looking for them. I don't like that a game like Alan has too many collectibles, since they break the pace of the story:

- You have to go to the house or your xxxx will xxxx. mwahahahaha

- Wait a moment, I have to look around every corner and room in case I miss something. Be there in 5 minutes, don't die until I arrive.

I feel the same way lol. I believe I missed about 5 pages of the manuscript in the main game and god knows how many thermos' because I was so into the pacing of the story. It really encourages moving forward throughout, especially when you are trying to avoid combat lol.

Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge. Well, you don't really dive but you get the point lol.

Yeah, on that game I'd understand some kind of time attack chievos, but collectibles? Man... It really is plenty of life and death situations and you have to look for things that aren't in plain sight?

Either way the game and it's story are very good, so I encourage to those that haven't play it yet, to do it whenever they feel like flashing people with the fleshlight flashlight and then shot the hell out of them.

EDIT: Oh, and dodge, for the mother of God. I have a friend that finished the game without triggering the chievo for dodging 20 times. Granted, he's very bad playing games, but damn, that makes a game unnecessarily more difficult.

I played like the first two or three hours of Alan Wake back in 2012 and then just lost track of it for whatever reason. I'm afraid if I go back to it now I won't remember how to play, but I also don't want to start over. :(

This is great to hear. It's actually next in my 360 backlog. Im currently finishing up Asura's Wrath and holy shit what a kick ass game it is. It's basically an interactive anime and im all for it.

I played Alan Wake this way: played through first on Normal and enjoyed the game, then played again on Easy to hunt collectibles (yes I used a guide. I don't have that much patience). Then I took a break and went back to beat it on Nightmare while looking for that difficulty's specific manuscript pages (of which there are not nearly as many).

This makes me glad that youtube can be snapped on the Xbox One...snap achievement/collectible guides while you're playing.

Haha right! This is exactly how I feel. But I'm an achievement whore so I have no choice.

Yea the game did have an insane amount of collectibles. The manuscripts aren't too bad but the thermoses and cans (I missed basically all of them). Also, make sure you turn on all TVs and radios.

Seriously, I wholeheartedly, lol, feel this is one of the coolest features for the Xbox One now. How many times I had the laptop or phone open or on next to me while I plowed through a game on the 360. Glad they got rid of just snapping the Machinema app.

I'm also like that when I play games, the collector, but with Alan Wake it's not necessarily the way I want to play. Without having a current gen system I would have probably played the game twice, the 1st for the story and the 2nd for the collectibles but now my gaming mentality has transformed I guess.

Think I am passing on Alan Wake, since I have the PC version from a Humble Bundle (even though I game on PC even less than on consoles). Anyone able to talk me out of any of the following?:

BattleBlock Theater
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Castle Crashers
Castlestorm

And I have nothing on topic to add, but just wanted to say I saw The Raid 2 this morning and it was amazing. It's pretty fucking awesome when a theater with grown men all make audible noises of shock in reaction to the carnage and violence on screen, which there is plenty of.

IT'S OUT FOR THE PUBLIC?

*checks movie listings for his area* It is!

Thank you for posting. Seriously. Best news I've heard all day., and it sounds like it isn't a disappointment either. I will go see it with my dad this weekend (who told me about the first one), I'm pumped. I loved the first one and all but I wasn't going to Sundance for it. :p

It's two and a half hours and there's more story, but it was intense. Also the fight scenes were easily in the double digits and the movie knows how to build upon them more and more like the first. That and the camera work was amazing mostly because there's literally so much chaos going on that I don't know how they the camera men kept up or even how they storyboarded and chreographed it. It's kind of a weird wonder to behold, also so many people get stabbed and shot multiple times in the head (the second fight scene alone within the first 15 minutes of the film was just a mix of blood and mud everywhere). It's...fucking amazing how much action they packed in. Seeing it again tonight with my other friend's as well since they got jealous/upset that me and my other friend went ahead and saw it this morning. Good luck trying to remake this, America.

I had no idea there was a sequel, thanks for posting. And you are right: camera was the best of the first raid, even the spectacular choreography owes its awesomeness to that clever camera work, always in the right angle the right time, and never dizzy. I agree this is a hell one to remake, but they would adapt it someway with terrible results as always. They are aiming to asian cinema for quite a good time now. Aside from the joke of 'oldboy' the last remake i detected is the nice thai thriller '13 beloved', now named '13 sins'.

Gotta catch'em all!! Pika piiiii!

And if you need to dismiss some, you put the list in the right order: start to rule out from the bottom.

Any reason to get the Gears 3 season pass? Are people still playing?
There's definitely a community, it just depends on what you'll play. Beast Mode seemed like it was lacking life, and that was a year ago. Horde Mode has players, but they tend to quit after Wave 10 (Epic's own words, and why Survival only went to Wave 10 in Judgment). Versus will have players, but know that if you played Guardian that it is only available to Season Pass and/or to owners of the Forces of Nature DLC pack. Also, the Raam's Shadow episode is fun to play through, as at parts you get to play as the Locust. Essentially, this Season Pass offers single player content with Raam's Shadow, Beast, Horde and Versus content with map packs, Horde Mode content with additional fortification and Silverback levels (although this is withheld content), and Versus content with an extra game mode, along with many more characters and weapon skins.

I do think they've greatly decreased, or possibly even removed, the versus dedicated servers, though.
