  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Yeah it's been ongoing for a bit and occasionally refreshes so you can get another. It should use that first as it expires first but it can be a bit wonky.

Call MS Support and tell them about your problem. The same thing happened to me, so I proved to them I had purchased the game, by allowing them to log into my account, so they could see my download history on the exact same page I was looking at.

They gave me a $20 XBL Gift Card.

I just re-bought it last night for $5 though #Winning

Got my $5 from the Gamestop XBL cash giveaway last week. Want to pick up Lego Marvel. If I buy it with a credit card, will it take the $5 out of my account before it charges the card (giving me Lego Marvel for $10)?

 
Heh, seeing you guys talk about your backlogs makes me realize mine is really very shallow since the majority of my "backlog" is games I started but were so horrifically bad I'll never go back to finish them... the number one example of that is Vampire Rain... my god that game was horrible.

Nope. You can't use both XBL credit and a credit card on the same order as far as I know. You must have enough credit to cover the whole amount. You can't use it as a partial payment.

I got this last week when I purchased a PSN card. Weird how it won't convert to "coins" though. I used it last week to buy Sonic Jump for 99 cents/coins and it didn't affect my current balance.

Once I move, I plan to use that and my 3,000 coins on a subscription to Shonen Jump.

This is wrong. If you have credit on your account (IE: $5) and a credit card, you can use both. What will happen is your credit card will be charged the difference to add that much credit to your account, and then it charges your account the full amount (the $5 free plus $9.99 from your credit card).

I've done this several times in the last several months and it's always worked like that.

Mine is also fairly shallow, I have never gone back to any of these.

I plan on finishing DX and MP3, but who knows when. The stories did nothing for me.

i can also confirm this. I have purchased many games using both ms credit and my credit card to cover the rest.

My statement is obviously wrong then if you were able to do it. I must be confused. I could've sworn that you are unable to use two payment methods. Again, I am obviously in the wrong here.

 
It's official. "Backlogs", New topic until the rumors for next month GwG come out and the speculation begins.

Speaking of which, mine isn't that big considering i came back into gaming about a year ago. Perhaps it's around 80 games, the main problem is i'm stuck playing World of Tanks, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2 and lately trying to learn USF4. So i'm not digging into that backlog anytime soon. 

And last but not least, i have to say that this site and specifically this thread has to be at least IMO one of those rare places on the internet where people actually behave like rational beings. So thanks for not driving me away from the internet. 

 
So I realized that I'll be getting a $25 MS account voucher with my Lumia 1520 when it comes tomorrow.

It will show the full amount on the confirmation screen as though it's going to charge your cc the full amount but after you hit "Continue" It will ask if you'd like to use your balance. On the website it doesn't do this, just charges your card.

I wonder if they'll add the camo option. It's the furthest right customization option, but it always says coming soon. With the World Cup update it seemed like they were going to let people show off their country colors in battle.

When it works, the game is fun. When it doesn't, you have remind yourself it's free...to suck.

I have seen several players with the Founders Pack gun skins. That pack costs about $60, depending on whether you bought Kredits during sales. I never thought people would buy weapons or armor for Happy Wars, but evidently that game makes enough money from people who buy stuff in a free game to keep updating and adding to it every few months. This game probably draws from the same spenders.

MP3 is worth finishing just for the last part. It rivals the Blood Dragon ride in Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon for sheer destruction, though you're way less overpowered. Although I did delete that space eater off my HDD after beating it. I'm really not that fond of Rockstar games these days, the only thing they could do that would interest me at this point is to upgrade the first Manhunt... I miss that game and the second one was not a freakin' sequel.... still mad about that.

Technically it wasn't. It was in celebration of Games with Gold that it went free. I'd still classify it as a game with Gold, as it was free, yet required Gold to get, and was only available for a shot time before another free game with Gold came along.

Almost like when Fable 2 went free and they tried to claim it was a promotional stunt for Fable 3. Yet then went ahead and removed the ability to get it from your download history when they swapped the data for Fable 2 Episodes, which they then dropped support of.

It was by mistake. Don't delete it if you did. There is no way to dl the full game again which almost happened to me. Luckily I tried dl it to my new HD before I deleted it on my main one.

So spend $300 on the xbox store and get $25 back? That doesnt seem worth it unless you were gonna spend it anyway. It also says with an asterisk that it must be both game and video content purchased

Yeah, it seems really weak, but if by chance you were going to blow through $300 soon at least you'd know to space it out.  I wonder if the % back for higher levels counts for it as well.  It's pennies, but still.  And I didn't even notice that it requires video, too. 

It's a shame they never state what actually qualifies.  We could assume it's everything, but wouldn't it be easier to just tell us.

Wait, what? :O My download history is only showing to 2013 on PC, but it goes all the way back to 2005 on my 360. O_O

It was by mistake. It was around the time when Games on Demand was just starting out and Fable II was added in parts (5 parts I think), where Part 1 acted as a demo as well as the "main" game needed to download the rest of it, similar to how TWD and Wolf Among Us work. Due to a glitch, downloading Part 1 enabled the download of the rest of the game and allowed you to play it as if you'd bought the whole thing. The mistake was fixed but the game was removed from download histories, and the digital version fixed to not be in parts.

My harddrive corrupted, thus I lost the game :(

 
Ok, so it's I have a Fable 2 in my download history, but it's from 09 (before the glitch happened). O_O It doesn't say demo and I know I did't pay for it. WTF

 
Check the download size.  If it's something like 1.9GB it's the Fable 2 Episodes version.

Hey brahs, I have alot of "Unknown Title" Purchases that I have been seeing in my purchase history.

Is it only things that are free or are they actual games that I have bought?

I can't remember but, usually if they were games they still allow you to buy them right?

I am just concerned because they are recent.

I looked recently at my list and saw Unknown Titles as well. I cannot recall what it could have been, but usually it's sponsored things that have since been pulled from the marketplace, being things like themes or gamerpics from corporations. These recent ones I'm unsure about.

Do you have an Xbox One? They show up on my list as well but in places where I bought X1 games.
