  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

So that means I need to have a "preferred payment method" on file, then? Because I can't buy anything normally from xbox.com. Guess its time to bite that bullet then.

Edit; nevermind. after refreshing the page (was already trying to buy at xbox.com but it was just stick on a white screen) and re-entering my password - it looks like I'm able to buy them without a payment method on file. SCORE! Already building a backlog for a system I don't yet own. >_<

Cool, welcome to the club. We have a meeting scheduled for 2025, to celebrate the end of our 360 backlogs, the start of our X1 backlogs and the launch of microsoft's next gen console.

 
I'm so happy for XB1 GWG because I already own both 360 games as usual. The games themselves look okay, but I'm fine with free. We'll probably see Lococycle rotated in in 1-2 months. Maybe Peggle 2 soon. Obviously there's not a big selection to choose from.
 
Just bought dishonored on this last sale for 5.00 lucky it was on bing points. The motrocross maddness is pretty fun. I got it for a dollar awhile back and had a good time with it. Hopefully since dishonored is on sale the dlc will be as well.
 
I'm really happy with the new GwG.

I've wanted dishonored for a while now but told myself no more till backlog goes down. The $8 price tempted me a few times, but I held out.

Both One games I have interest in but never wanted to put the money out for them.

Overall a good month for me. Not AAA games like a couple PS+ months but some solid games.
 
Even though I'm selling off my Xbox One - just built a gaming PC - am glad to see a couple titles I don't own come down the GwG pipeline. At the same time, no less! Almost bit on both of these months ago .. just goes to show, save your money - don't buy digital XBL games if you have Gold, they'll be free eventually.

Will surely backlog these for whenever(?) I get a One again. Plenty to still play on 360 to keep Gold active for a good while.

 
Was there someone in the trade threads selling cheap copies of Forza 5 Download codes? Why do I remember seeing that?

I'm realizing there's not much out there for the One that I want.

The Rob Zombie trailer for AC:Unity looks insane, though...

Looking forward to date night, though I know in my heart that there won't be shit for the One.
 
Sorry if it's been asked but the season pass for Darksiders 2 says it gives a discount on the 3 pieces of DLC.  Is it worth the $10 for the pass since I'm not interested in the armor dlc, just the 2 single player dlc's, I think they are $10 each so is the discount on those 2 less than just buying them seperately without buying the season pass?

$20 for the 2 DLC extra single player content

OR

$10 for the season pass plus discount content ??

OR by discount does it mean the included stuff in the season pass is actually free with the pass?

I decided against getting it because it's still pretty darn expensive and the feedback people gave at the start of the week were very strongly against it being worth the money and not having any cheevos. Can't see paying almost $20 for the stuff that's on sale if it's not great.

 
Been wanting Crimson Dragon so happy with that. Already have Strike Suit Zero, which is ok, but not great (particularly the controls).

I'll also take Motocross Madness but I am kind of pissed about Dishonored. I bought it during the last sale (which I think someone said was just three weeks ago).

Granted it was cheap but I swear sometimes they' like to get as many people as possible to buy some of these games just before they go free.

Oh well.

I have no idea what you're asking, but the Season Pass includes the Abyssal Forge, Demon Lord Belial and the Maker Armor set. I can't think of anything you get a discount on by buying it...

Someone was selling cheap codes on herem. I got one from the trade thread a while back for $20 I think
 
Phew, dodged a bullet on that one! I considered getting Dishonored during the Ultimate Game Sale, but ultimately (heh) passed. Now I can have it for freezies!

 
The AirMech Arena closed beta does not work for me. I registered, got the code, downloaded the beta (even redownloaded it once to make sure). After the initial loading screen it just locks up in a black screen that freezes my console. No other game does that. I get that it's a beta and all but it's disappointing.

As for GWG: super excited for the X1 offering even though I don't have an X1 (yet). The X360 offering is also great although I already own both games. Motocross Madness is a fun little motocross game, forgettable but enjoyable, in fact I had to double check whether it's the game I was thinking of. Achievement hunters beware, DLC with achievements. Same for Dishonored, but there I got mixed feelings for the game: as many before me, I've found the game's world and concept to be fascinating, but I had to force myself to play it. It just felt so slow and tedious, even though I like stealth games. I'll probably do an easy "no pressure" run one day to enjoy the storyline and the world, because I stopped after a few hours on normal (or hard or whatever it was).

Lastly, after spending 5 "full" days on Destiny (what a lovely game, going to miss it until September), I went back to working on Abyss Odyssey. Found out that once you get the hang of the game, it's actually pretty fast levelling up yet still earning enough money, so you can get all of your characters to level 26 (the one required for a set of class-specific achievements), and one to 60+ for the last achievement you'll likely get, capturing a level 40 monster (the one level 40 for some reason does not count so it has to be a level 60 at least). Anyway, it was a fun ride, the art style is bonkers, can get a bit easy after a while (especially if you capture a boss), but it was definitely worth its 10$ sale price. Recommended game, unique, fun, and a fairly easy run of 400G for those interested.

Do any of you guys play Tomb Raider DE multiplayer? I heard nothing but bad things about but I kinda like that shit. Its fun to me, I almost like it more than Battlefield 4.

You can level yourself up to 60 by just running around a Rescue mode map for 20 minutes collecting salvage, shits hilariously retarded but oddly fun.

I don't do much PC gaming, but that game sucked me in hard. Probably spent around 40-50 hours on it, I went up to like New Game +7 I think. Brilliant game, one of the best roguelike games ever, albeit it does get a bit easy when you start understanding which traits to avoid and how to deal with certain enemies. All I can say is: have fun. It's not even an exclusive and I played it, but crazily enough that game is one of the few things I miss most about the Xbox line-up.

The Definitive Edition must be different because the 360 version was nearly unplayable due to lag spikes and terrible hit detection.

The season pass includes 3 pieces of DLC and it says buying it gives you a discount on those 3 things. I'm curious what the discount is and if it's worth spending $10 on the pass to only get a % off the DLC. Since to small a discount will not offset the $10 cost of the pass.

Then again if someone bought this pass maybe they could clarify if the season pass items are all free with purchase of the pass and discount is just a poor choice of words.

Never bothered with the Tomb Raider MP because it's Tomb Raider and that sure isn't what I bought it for in the least - but if 10 minutes into a MP session of any game I felt like I was receiving a Dirty Sanchez I'd feel like I owed the game twenty bucks...

I think it's referring to that you get the three DLC cheaper via the pass than buying them individually, hence a discount.

I already have Dishonored and Motocross so this is another month of nothing for me. 15 or so years ago when I was a teenager with no disposable income I would have loved this, but now I just don't have much use for it.

What is Guacamele and Max CoB?  XBL has many such deals, but for what price?  Superheroes are slowly going out of style, or at least people have less interest in them.

RIght, then it's probably not worth it since I'm only interested in 2 of the 3 DLC's to begin with. The season pass sounds like a coupon in this case but if it only saves me 50% off the 2 DLC's I want than I will spend the same amount of money either way.

2 DLC's I want are $10 each ( I spend $20)

OR

Buy the Season Pass $10, get both DLC's for half off $10 price tag ($5 each) Still spending $20.

Only savings if you want the Armor DLC that goes with it which I don't want.

I'll wait and see if they do an actual discount off the DLC"s themselves since I don't have any MS credit right now so there is no rush.

Yeah, Captain America: Winter Soldier being one of the top grossing movie this year so far sure shows people are losing interest in them. That and X-Men: Days of Future Past scoring the best box office numbers in it's franchise history sure shows a well thought out opinion with fantastic grammar and spelling.

I think you're way over thinking this. You buy the season pass and you get the 3 DLC it says are included for the cost of the season pass. The language is stating that when all things are regular price you would save money by buying the season pass. There's a couple individual DLCs on sale as well this week.

Dude if you buy the Season Pass you get all three DLCs for $10. Its not a coupon, its a basically a combo pack. You buy the season pass and download all three pieces of content from the IN GAME store. Just like every season pass ever.

Sorry Captain America was overlooked. X-Men: DOFP was a complete mess and I could care less what critics say. Grammar obviously isn't my strong suit. I was going out on a limb by saying Superheroes are on the decline. Location, like what type of audience sees a particular movie designates what could be "high grossing". Anyways I'll agree I was wrong about CA: Winter Soldier but X-Men First Class far and away had greater twists with less plotholes than DOFP.

That's like your opinion, but a 92% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and it making nearly 300 million dollars more than it's previous highest grossing title (X3) shows that superhero flicks haven't hit the wall. That and growing popularity of thing's like conventions (Salt Lake City Comic Con which is now in it's second or third year is expecting at least 100,000 people in attendance) and the fact comic book sales have seen an annual increase (13% I believe in the past year alone) in sales shows that superhero things if anything are only getting more popular.

Superheroes were so early 2014 guys get with the times! Don't watch that Guardians of the Galaxy it's gonna flop so bad even though it's been critically acclaimed by all the reviewers, they need to get with the times!

I went to my 1st Comicon this year in Phoenix and loved it! I didn't wear a costume, but next year I'm going to do something simple (Shado from the tv show Arrow). Superheros still rock in my book :D/
